Hello. I am in Oklahoma now. My husband is getting better. His face is injured badly, but everyone is surprised at how quickly he has been recovering. I am very happy!! Thank you very much, everyone for your advice and kind words. I am very touched :crying:

I didn't have much problem at the immigration at the airport. The officer spoke a little bit of Japanese so he was very friendly to me. After he scanned my passport, he asked me about my student visa, such as when I finished school and if I am here for school. I was here for about 5 years with a student visa. The student visa expired a year ago. When he asked me my purpose of visit, I said to see my husband. It was not much problem, but he asked me if he was Japanese, and when I said he was a U.S. citizen, his face turned so serious. I showed him my tickets to Japan, the doctor's paper, and the marriage license. He told me I need to apply for an immigrant visa to live in the U.S. and I told him that I understand and I am going back to Japan after I see my husband. He said that several times to me and I just said I understand  and he let me go.

It sounded like he doesn't know that we are applying for a K3 visa. It is not on the record yet probably?? He mainly asked me about my student visa. I was a little bit scared when he turned so serious, but I am happy he let me go :D I am going back to Japan next week. I really don't wanna leave. I just feel blue when I think of work, where mean people are at :( but I am just hoping that my K3 will be approved soon and will come back here soon.

Thank you very much for your courages (F)

Glad u got through POE. Hope ur husbands feels better soon.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Glad you made it through okay. My wife has visited me a few times with no questions asked.....but we both know the day may come when she meets the guy who decides to question her a bit more. Doesn't seem pleasant, but I guess it's just a part of the process.

I am glad you are able to be with your husband at a time like this.......those are the kind of times when two people should not have to be separate.......and I am happy for you that your arrival went well.

Glad to read that you made it and that your husband is doing better. I know its never easy to be separated again (in fact, I'm starting to hate airports for that reason - although going to the airport to pick up your sweetheart is WONDERFUL!) but you should hopefully have your K3 in no time!
