Did you or will you attend fiance's interview?

I guess I should have started a poll(couldn't figure it out) I was just wondering what everyone thinks about attending the interview?

I was planning on it but the flights are way too expensive. I am going to go visit my man next week for a few days and it is only going to cost $350 :D Does anyone think that NOT attending will hurt his chances?

I don't think it will-but what do I know?

I would have loved to, but I had just finished a trip to Scotland and had one coming up a few weeks after the interview, so I didn't.

I can't imagine that in a reasonably low-fraud consulate, the petitioner not attending will mean much of anything.

It matters also what country your fiance/spouse is from. In India, and certain other countries, you can't attend the interview with them. So I didn't go over there for that.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Dave didn't come to mine and it wasn't an issue at all. You can bring you fiance, of course, but it's not expected!!! (Except for in Peru (?) or some other high-fraud consulates where it can help your case)

My fiance attended my interview in Vancouver with me. It was easy as we only lived 2 1/2 hours away from each other.

I don't think it would have made any difference if he hadn't attended, though. As long as you have all the paperwork and evidence, that's what they are mainly concerned with.

For the UK, I don't think it hurts your chances at all not to attend.

I am planning to go, but it really all depends on how the finances look at that point (and what flights are going for, too). May have to save our pennies for the move.

I want to go to the interview, but with all the expenses were not sure that I can. We will deffinately keep the option open and if the flights are cheap enough and we have the extra money then I am off, no questions asked. I dont think it will affect the process if you dont attend by what all I have seen on VJ.
