Mothers in history usually didnt start to go to work until later years either. My grandmother and mother never worked and did the house and kids but come my generation we work, teach the kids, do the house and all, and men in todays times have given way to share alot of the responsibilities its all in the mutual agreements of the couple to each their own. I have taught my boys to cook, clean and do laundry and hope they respect their wives to help. Just because a mother has strength in her religion does not make the children follow.

But if the parent isn't the example then who will be?

I lived in the Middle East for 2 1/2 years and met my fiancee there. Personally, I don't care who marrys whom PERIOD - FULL STOP! I am tired of religions trying to make people's lives more difficult. It has been my experience that Islam does that by trying to regulate who can be married to whom. I simply don't care: Jew, Christian, Hindu, Atheist, Buddhist, Satanist. If two people love each other, and are committed to each other, that is good enough for me. Case, and assorted "holy" books, CLOSED.

You are mixing culture with religeon, Mena culture does not believ in boyfried/girlfriends. you shouldnt confuse people by saying your cultural practices are in th qoran.

That's a rather sweeping generalization, don't you think?

It's also rather accusatory.

I am not Muslim so I will not speak for Islam. I am, however, Roman Catholic and quite happy to discuss my faith and how The Holy Bible guides my life.

Is this something you are at all curious about? If so, I would be happy to have an open and honest dialog about my religion and my faith because I think there is some kind of misunderstanding about how people of other faiths live.

Just to make sure u understand this, Abdou, when someone says they don't have to "love" Prophet Mohammed...It does not mean that they don't believe in him and respect him (and the other prophets) the same. They are not saying that he is bad or not true. They like him and follow his teachings and agree with what he brought. How is that anti-Islamic?

I am curious how those of you who don't love the Prophet define love. I am not saying that you have to love the Prophet to be a Muslim, not in the least, but just wondering what this line is between liking him, respecting him, and following him, versus loving him.

For me, here is the man that delivered the final message, showed as how to follow the faith, pray, was an amazing example for us all, what's not to love? I am guessing this is all coming down to how we define love. For me, respecting, following, admiring are all manifestations of love.

abdo-You have to accept that people are not agreeing with you. You may believe you are right but so do they. Obviously people are having different interpretations of The Quran, Muslim beliefs, whatever. You have to "agree to disagree" because they know your points, you have said it over and over and you can see it is not helping anyone. You are not going to force people to agree with you. Your attitude is not helping your case anyway.

I don't know enough to say anything on this subject but if I truly wanted to know, I would myself study the Quran and whatever else needed to know for myself. I wouldn't just listen to a spouse, person on the internet, or other opinions. As in my own religion(Christianity) I personally seek info I am looking for and read the bible myself to learn. I don't go by what other people say.
