Hi AW!!

Just want to thank you very much for your post here. Your information and links were extremely helpful, especially since we have just begun the NVC process. Although I have researched it carefully, there were a couple of points that were still questions. Your post answered all of them and the NVC flow chart link was extremely helpful too. Thanks very much!! (F)

Cheers,

~Bleauwolf

Just for the record. I keep reading "Make sure you put your case #, beneficiary's name, and beneficiary's Date of birth on all important Documents" or something like that.

What I did, so I did not ruin the authenticity of the documents was... used post-it notes. This way they stay on, but can be removed if NVC doesn't like it. I figure, better that than a RFE for something stupid like them not liking how I put case numbers on every important document.

Call them and give them both you and the beneficiary's email address. This way they can communicate much faster with you.

We received our Case ID on October 20, 2010, but NOT our packages yet. After reading the shortcuts I want to verify I am understanding the process shortcuts correctly.

  1. BENEFICIARY/PETITIONER PACKETS: At this stage BEFORE your Fee Bill is generated, and Beneficiary/Petitioner Packets are received.. The only shortcut that can be submitted is the Beneficiary DS-3032 Choice of Agent Form correct? Are there any other documents that can be completed now?
  2. I-864 QUESTIONS: When calling on a Tuesday HOW does the IVR indicate that an AOS IV Fee Bill has been generated so you can go in and pay or send payment? Is the special code included in this IVR update, or must you capture this queue from automation and then call back to an operator to get the barcode and transaction detail necessary to pay the bill online or send by mail? IV Fee Bill goes to NVC St Louis MO, and the Rest of I-864 cover, Release of Tax Data, and supporting data goes to Portsmouth NH. Since there appears to be a separation between the Fee Bill and the documentation of I-864, is there any reason you could not send the 9 page form and supporting evidence NOW rather than waiting for the fee bill to be payable online?
  3. DS-230 cant be sent until after the IV Bill has been registered as paid before sending it in. So you really cant send this until they update the recording indicating the AOS Fee has been received right?

In talking with the agents at NVC, I got the impression that they pretty much collect fees and final paperwork but the American Embassy's are the one applying the process. Is this true? And if so, is there any benefit to emailing your Beneficiary Embassy with these files to try to get confirmation of WHEN your Beneficiary interview might be scheduled? ARE THERE ANY shortcuts to understanding APPROXIMATELY when your interview will be scheduled?

Thanks!!

Dawn

Hello All,

So what is the Verdict on sending AOS Documents and DS-230 together ? Are we supposed to send them together or wait.

In My Case , I already paid AOS Fees, it shows Paid. But still havent gotten the Invoice for DS-230. So should i just wait or jsut send AOS Package now.

One more question :- Do i need to send in any 2010 W-2's ( i have not filed taxes yet ) ?

thanks in advance

My case was reaffirmed and sent to NVC , but when I call they always tell me they have not received it yet. It was reaffirmed on April 5, 2012. Is this unusual wait time for a reaffirmed petition. They don't have to assign a case number cause it our case number has not changed.. So what could be wrong?.

My mother is a green card holder, she filed for my brother n I on march 30,2011. The case was approved by uscis but uscis sent the case to NVC bc they said we r not eligible to adjust our status in the US.

So this case is complicated bc my brother n I r here in the US and we have tried calling NVC to send the case back to USCIS but NVC said uscis has to request the case, then uscis says no, send a letter to NVC so then can send us 'uscis' the file. Our I-94 have already expired and my brother has received 2 days ago the DS form but my mother doesn't want to act yet bc she wants the case to b process here in the US.

At this point idk what to do my mother doesn't want us to go back to our country to get our cases process by the consulate when we r already here.

What can we do at this point. Pls I would appreciate your response.
