no i didn't misunderstand anything. but, i see you did or you're trying to twist words again.

i said "they're pretty famous for harboring & protecting others from the law also. i'm not too proud of that either"

meaning...the "well the church supports them" BS don't fly w/ me.

Clearly you have misunderstood if you believe the church supportsthem. It's not a question of support, it's a question of succour without judgment. As I said, because say a priest ministers to someone who has broken secular law it doesn't necessarily mean that he condones what they have done. However it would appear that this is how someone can believe both that they are a christian and that it's ok to metaphorically throw stones. Cute.

suc·cor [ súkər ]

noun (plural suc·cors)

Definition:

1. help for somebody or something: help or relief for somebody or something in a difficult or unpleasant situation

2. somebody or something giving help: somebody or something that provides help or relief

so you can't quote or spell words you don't know the meaning of...cute :)

btw: i am a christian.

However, once again what is most shocking is the level of vitriol. This woman is just delaying the inevitable, she will be deported sooner or later but yet this winds some of you up like a clockwork toy, incredible.

Its all about showing another side to the whole illegal debacle. A more human side, for those that are still sentient and humanitarian. Yes, she will, and should leave eventually. She must respect the law, even though viewing it as unjust.

Muchacho cuidado!!

Now they'll be calling you a cocalover!

For the record, I believe our troops should not be allowed where they are not invited. In other words, without real cause.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Didn't loud music drive Noriega from his sanctuary?

Noriega....now there was a real Republican ally.

He wouldn't have mattered one way or the other if JIMMY CARTER didn't give away one of the world's wonders, the Panama canal..........

Yes. Blame Noriega on Carter. What other magical tricks do you do?

This is obviously OFF TOPIC, however Noriega's importance and relevance would certainly have been diminished had he not been the recipient of the Panama canal...... which BTW we, not the Panamanians, built and made a viable waterway.....

Liberal Democrats are are a hazard to this country.....

So ? Panama belongs to Panamanians, not the USA.

word..

I don't think there's any good examples of US intervention in latin America.. none.. all they've caused is death

Thank you,you hit the nail right on the head.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Thank you for hitting the nail right on the head again. During the 70's and 80's many armed forces personnel would terribly disrespect Panamanians, calling us every racial slur in the book. There was really something wrong with that picture indeed.

Succour is a perfectly valid spelling, not everyone drops their u's.

Providing help and relief does not require giving judgment on. So, a priest may and indeed should provide help and relief without making judgment. (In my opinion, if you purport to be a christian you should do this too but hey, call me cynical)

This could mean that a priest will provide help and relief (succour) to say...a murderer. However, because a priest provides succour for a murderer it in no way translates to the priest condoning murder.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

still waiting......

what about if they intend to murder someone?

What if? It would be a moral and ethical dilemma for the priest involved and?

this isn't a tough question. got an answer for it?

Charles, whistle all you want. I am not a priest, nor am I a christian therefore I can't be put in the position of having heard a confession from a would be murderer. However, I do have a certain respect for the principles of christianity - even if very few purported christians measure up to those principles and believe that a sincere priest would evaluate the moral and ethical dilemmas this presents and take the best course of action.

However, this is an absurd "what if" if ever there was one, and quite frankly I have no idea how it equates to anything except your whimsical approach to debate.
