I am not a christian, but if one purports to be one, one should at least stand by certain core principles. Providing succour to one and all is surely one of the main tenets of their creed, no?

Who elected the church to pass and enforce our nation's laws?

In one thread people whine about separation of church and state...and 10 minutes later they whine that the church has the right to decide which state laws can be actively ignored and circumvented at their will.

Which is it?

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Seems to me you have misunderstood. As I understand it, christians are meant to provide succour without judgement. That isn't to say that they condone any and every behavior. I believe you will find that christians will try to provide a criminal with the support to own up to and take responsibility for themselves. This is not necessarily a quick process.

That said, I am not sure that any christian would consider being an illegal immigrant a 'sinful' position. Clearly, they are at odds with federal laws, but I am not sure what that means in christian terms. Maybe a member of the church will enlighten us.

Don't tell me you don't get the concept that sometimes the law of man is in conflict with the law of God?

History repeats....

The Roman Empire fell as a result of "illegal immigrants".....They flocked to Rome for the "social" services provided "free" to the poor......

Unfortunately, the service's weren't "free............tax, tax, tax.........

BTW, I'm all for "shock and awe" to alleviate the Church situation....NO NUKES PLEASE, as I live in the burbs nearby..

I say we camp outside the church and talk very loudly without stop. He'll come out to tell us to shut up, and we can throw him in a hole.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

--July 22---------Sent I-129F packet

--July 27---------Petition received

--August 28------NOA1 issued

--August 31------Arrived in Terrace after lots of flight delays to spend Lindsay's birthday with her

--October 10-----Completed address change online

--January 25-----NOA2 received via USCIS Case Status Online

Didn't loud music drive Noriega from his sanctuary?

Noriega....now there was a real Republican ally.

He wouldn't have mattered one way or the other if JIMMY CARTER didn't give away one of the world's wonders, the Panama canal..........

Yes. Blame Noriega on Carter. What other magical tricks do you do?
