Ive read it in forums i believe. But also along with my packet they sent two letters, one saying not to open the packet and the other welcoming me to the united states, this one says " the k1 visa is valid for ine entry only, and is valid for six months from the approval date.

However, if any of your documents expire within six months, the visa might be limited to that date."

The info is correct, your visa is only valid for 6 months from the date of your medical. They will print that date on your visa.

Meaning, the expiration date you see on your visa is the date of your medical plus 6 months. You should alwqys go by the visa date, the embassy has already done the counting for you and added the correct date to your visa.

The date by which you need to have your visa issued before the medical exam expires and the date by which your visa expires are two different things. Your visa will always be valid for 6 months from the date of your medical, no matter if the medical is only valid for 3 months in order to get your visa.

On your K-1 visa, there is an expiration date printed. Go by that date , and please don't listen to the first two posters as they gave incorrect information. You will have to enter the US before the expiration date printed on your K-1 visa. You can redo your medical in the US for AOS but it's going to be pricey.

Scandi and Suss gave you informative information. Note and listen.

So that means i can travel to the US with the med results expired as long as i do it before the visa expiration date stamped in my passport?

Do you think I can find that info validated? I just want to be 100% sure.

Thank you so much! I really thought for what i read that if any other document expired before then the passport validity would adjust to that. And I couldn't make the teip before september 30th..

yeah, getting your vaccines here is going to be expensive. According to the instructions on the The I-693 form from USCIS, it has to be completed by a Designated Civil Surgeon. This means that you cannot go to just any GP for that, you have to use one on USCIS' list. http://www.visajourney.com/content/us-civil-surgeons

Thank you.

Do you think maybe at POE the officer will tell me that i have to get them and where/when?

Yes you can use it for your AOS if your vaccination work sheet is marked "complete". It doesn't matter what date the clinic put on your papers, the medical is still valid for your AOS in the US if you file witin 1 year from the date of your medical. What the clinic does and what the embassy and US immigrations do are two different things.

Just because the clinic puts an expiration date on your medical doesn't mean that the immigrations go by that date. The immigrations have their own rules, and those rules state that your overseas medical is valid to use for your AOS if you file for AOS within 1 year of your overseas medical.

According to the uscis website k1 medicals are good for one year. I know when my wife did her physical it had a 90 day expiration date on it but that was to get her visa. Her physical was valid for one year they do not go by the expiration date on. They go by the date you got you phsyical so if you got it done in june 2017 it will be good until june 2018. If i knew how to cut and paste i would cut and paste the web link to uscis on this subject.

Okay my bad, I didn't read all posts. The medical is still valid, but yes, obviously the vaccinations will be needed as well.

So, you can't get the vaccines at the local health department and take the record to the Civil Surgeon?

Yes you can - the civil surg just needs to transcribe them and fill out the correct portions of the i693.
