Oh yayy! My case says ready too but when I go to make ACS and Consular appt it says case not ready for an appt. Did NVC sent you an appt or did you choose ur own date?

Just recive a letter with case number bar code from NVC  seams like is the one averyone gets ,also there was a link that conect you to your embassy (click on it when scaned to your computer ) .Think you have to set your own apointment . When I check embassy site said that my case was created and few days leter updated , my asumption that it may mean that thay send info to my finance with instructions. Give few days and try again . Im just taking it slow, got to conclusion that few days at this point don't makes a diference .

I am very happy for everyone who's gotten their second notice. No that's not true. I am stoked you've received them. I am feeling a little dejected and discouraged I haven't received ours yet. The frustrating thing is I haven't waited as long as half of you have, not even 3 months yet although it's close to 3.

I was honestly expecting to have everything completed in that 4-6 month window.

I think I'm just feeling sorry for myself and my fiancé and I hate that. I am normally a very upbeat person. I am hoping expressing this has some cathartic effect. Please don't flame me if you've waited a lot longer. Or maybe I need to be told to suck it up. It's been a crappy week at work. Responded to a rescue of a lady who miscarried and the fetus was hanging out of her. Nothing we could do it wasn't viable yet. And I can't come home and tell her and shut it out until I go back on duty.

Thanks for letting me vent. Hitting the hay 0400 comes early. Maybe next week will be our week.

Have a lot of respect for all of you in LDR. It must be tough. I personally don't know if I would be strong enough to handle such distance. I certainly wasn't when I was a young lad. Keep up the faith. It will come soon.

Guys, I've been working on my DS-160, and I have some doubts:

1) My fiance (petitioner) is an Engineer BUT he is working right now at a restaurant as a Kitchen Leader. So, what should I select when they ask for his occupation? Engineer or food service??

2) Since my plans are (obviously) leaving my country and move to US with my fiance, I left my job a couple months ago. Is there any problem for the consulate if I'm unemployed?

3) Back in 2013, they denied me a tourist visa application for not having "enough bounds with my nation". Would that be a problem? Can they denied my K1 visa for that?

Hope u can help me :)

1) You should put down his current occupation.

2) Nope.

3) No. K-1 supports immigrant intent, so not having enough ties to prove that you don't want to immigrate is irrelevant now. :) That said, I do believe it asks if you have been denied fore a US visa before, and the answer would still be yes.

Not necessarily - sometimes the package doesn't register on the dhl site - or even leave the NVC until the day after - or - as happened in my case, when it showed as 'in transit' it had already arrived at the embassy!  As yesterday was a Friday it is possible that it might not show on dhl until Monday or Tuesday.

where do you get the dhl tracking number? will it be the same as the case number or will it appear in the ceac tracker site?

Thanks for letting me vent. Hitting the hay 0400 comes early. Maybe next week will be our week.

Playing the waiting game is very hard when a loved one is so far away, but it is even harder when we have to deal with stress or issues alone, and can't hug them or vent to them.  To ease the pain a little bit, Dani and I talk every day throughout the day, through Skype and try to video sometimes so we can see each other and family members when possible.  We also try to play games with each other online (Windows and Apple have a few free games that we can play privately). We will often have Skype running so it's almost like we are playing in person.

Also, it looks like you might get your notice soon, if the timeframes are similar for you as they were for me, as our application was also processed through California location.  Don't despair - the processing date shown on the USCIS site (under TOOLS) is showing Sept 16, 2016. But up until last week it was still showing Aug 16, 2016, but we filed at the end of Nov. 2016 and just received our NOA2 last week.  So they are ahead of Sept 16. :)

Last, you can sign up at the USCIS site (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do )to view your case status and also to get text messages when the status changed.  We got our text at 10:00pm on Feb.16. :)

Good Luck! Remember, one day closer...

Hello everyone,  I have what might be a really dumb question.  I see mention on many posts of a CEAC site.  What is that?  I've used USCIS site directly to track my case up to when they sent it to NVC.  Now we are waiting to hear NVC has received it, etc.  Thank you for helping a newbie out!

10) You might be able to register online for your interview.  You might also get a big red message on the screen telling you YOUR CASE IS NOT READY!  WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? DID YOU READ ANYTHING ON THE PREVIOUS SCREENS ASKING IF YOU HAD YOUR LETTER FROM THE EMBASSY YET? NO YOU DIDN'T! GLORIA IS STILL ON HER TEA BREAK AND HASN'T EVEN WRITTEN THE LETTER YET SO WE KNOW YOU HAVEN'T GOT IT.  GO AWAY AND COME BACK WHEN YOU CAN READ THE SCREEN BEFORE THIS ONE! Or something like that.

:D

Good luck!

#10. Registering online for ACS & Interview, my case says ready on Ceac website but it won't let me proceed with then scheduling, I get the RED MESSAGE similar to above. CASE NOT READY FOR SCHEDULING!

What I read somewhere on VisaJourney, that when its says READY, doesn't necessarily means its at Embassy. It simply means its READY for Embassy to process and case has been entered in system for them. It doesn't mean it has ARRIVED at Embassy. I'm thinking that's why it won't allow anyone schedule anything.

After you get your NOA2 approval this is the place to track your case. It's the State Department as USCIS is not involved at that stage. State Department is responsible for visas. You will need to wait at least 7 days typically to get your new case number from them.

After you you get married and apply for ROC then you wil be back at USCIS.

Appointment confirmation for embassy interview

I noticed today that the applicant name shows up as me, the petitioner. I think I made a mistake and that it should have my finace's name (the benifitiary) :( I called the embassy to see if this was a problem but of course is Sunday, so they are closed. I want to be able to cancel and get another date soon before delaying even more my appointment. Does anyone know anything about this? Thank you so much for any help.

Thngs I have learned since NOA2 approved in case tracker: (or 'what to do now')

1) Ignore the information to wait a month before calling NVC.  Call them about 12 days after your NOA2 approval.  This might be before the hard copy of your NOA2 arrives.

2) Ignore the NVC person who tells you to wait at least six weeks before calling again.  Try again the next morning. Or the evening. And the next one. And the next one.

3) Ignore the status in the CEAC case tracker.  It is probably two days behind your case.  Your case is alreaady sitting in a pile at the Embassy by the time Fred at the NVC has fired up his Dell and typed 'In Transit'.  Gloria at the Embassy is already looking at your case number and your package  and wondering how long it is until her next tea break.

4) Ignore the information on dhl case tracker for cases on the date that your case shows as 'in transit'. Use the DHL package tracker to track parcels going to your country but remember this won't be on the day you think it was despatched because Fred went home early to watch the hockey and your case update was still on his desk.  Then he was sick the next day - (must have been a bad beer) - and your case won't be updated on the case tracker until he is back at work and has fired up his Dell two days after your case left the NVC. By which time your case is already away on its holidays.

5) Ignore the advice to wait for package 3/letter from the embassy to do anything else.  You can fill in your DS-160 and file it now.  In fact you could have filed it before Fred went to the hockey.

6) Ignore the advice to wait for package 3 to schedule your medical.  You can do this with your NVC case number.

7) Ignore the information from the clinic that says you need the letter from the embassy at your medical. You need the case number, your vaccination records, a letter from your doctor outlining major medical history, your passport style photographs, your police record.  And a very fat wallet.

8) You should have requested your police record already. Probably around the time you got your case number and before Fred went to the hockey game.

9) You should have requested your vaccination records and the letter from your doctor already.  The sooner the better.  But after you have had the shots you need. And you need those shots.  Or you'll need a fatter wallet. (This is UK specific - variations will apply according your country).

Hi everyone. I have a question. We just received the hard copy of the NOA2 by mail.

Does the petitioner need to send this by mail to the benificiary? Does the benificiary need the original copy?

Thanks,

Madelle

They will not need the original for the interview, but they will need it for AOS back in the states. Just email a copy to Philippines and keep the original in the states for AOS.
