Ad unit between posts is now gone for all registered members above a very small post count (same as before).  I got the logic backwards and was showing it to senior members and not to guests!  Been a long 36 hours and going...

lol, well it currently looks a mess, but it's to be expected with upgrades like this. I used to like the ability to see unread threads/new threads in a easy manner with the old forum. This doesn't seem as easy to find with clarity. The tweaking will continue I suppose though.

That's strange.  There shouldn't be a max width (it should go as wide as you want).  That is not intentional and if on my side I will fix it :).  I'll need to connect to my desktop wide screen later today to debug.  Stay tuned and thanks for the image.

How did you go to view unread/new threads?  There is an unread link on the upper right you can click to get the same (or better) functionality with the update.

At first my though was "this is awful, I hate this" but now after a few minutes I can definitely see that this new layout has potential. The one thing I really miss though is how, when I click on unread messages, tell it to only show me unread posts from specific parts of the forum so I didn't have to read all the discussions about politics etc...

Keep up the good work! It's starting to look pretty good!

for reference, here are the 2 rules I see causing the issue...

1) This is causing the posts not to extend to the edge of the white area:

#ipsLayout_mainArea, #ipsLayout_sidebar {
    display: table-cell;
    height: 100%;
    vertical-align: top;
    -webkit-box-sizing: border-box;
    -moz-box-sizing: border-box;
    -ms-box-sizing: border-box;
    -o-box-sizing: border-box;
    box-sizing: border-box;
}

2) This is causing the whole area to be squashed into the center:

.ipsLayout_container {
    max-width: 1340px;
    padding: 0 0px;
    margin: 0 auto;
    position: relative;
}

That said, obviously removing all whitespace would look odd as well, and there may be impacts on other parts of the site. I just wanted to do some of the CSS sifting since you aren't using a larger display at this exact point in time. Hopefully this helps!

Dang...that was fast! Yeah, it looks much  better now. Probably about 70% content and 30% whitespace. Much nicer, thanks!

Edit: home page looks much nicer now, too.
