Trust me i know how you are feeling frustrated.

Nebraska has me on wait too.

It doesnt look like i'll be getting any approvals till around March.

Still having faith approval will be earlier...

Same boat as you! It's definitely a frustrating wait, but keep the faith, and keep planning trips with your spouse. It's the only thing that keeps me sane. Late March/Early April looks the most likely time for approval. But who knows, maybe things will speed up?

Hey all! I'm very new to this and so overwhelmed! My case was received on September 19, 2016. I haven't received anything other than a text confirmation with my receipt number. But I have one problem, I didn't submit any evidence! Only the documents USCIS told me to send when I called. Does anyone know if this will hurt my case??

Background: I met my husband at work over a year ago while living in Ethiopia. We married in August. I still reside here in Ethiopia with him and we've gone on tons of vacations, he's met my brother and I've met all of his family.

Thanks all!

Thank you for replying! I hope all is fine, I just got a tad worried when I saw people dating in the threads here that you can delay your case or worse, get denied ?

Are you saying that you didn't submit an evidence of a bonafide marriage? It's listed on the instructions for the I-130 application --

Quote
1. Documentation showing joint ownership or property; or
2. A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence; or
3. Documentation showing co-mingling of financialresources; or
4. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, thepetitioner, and your spouse together; or
5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or
6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.

If you haven't sent any of the above; no worries, you will likely receive a request for further evidence (RFE) and can provide the necessary information at that time. Sit tight for now!

I sent a copy of our joint bank account, but I noticed people were mentioning that they sent pictures, travel itineraries, etc. I didn't send any of that but I have plenty! should I not be worrying as much as I am?

Every case is adjudicated differently and the mantra around VisaJourney is always "quality" of evidence over "quantity" of evidence. It's hard to say what will happen for sure, but in general the best types of evidence are (i) joint residency, (ii) financial co-mingling, and (iii) time spent together. This is why pictures and travel itineraries tend to be important since they provide evidence of either (i) or (iii). In either case, there's no use worrying about it now as you've sent in your application. If they want more information, they'll ask you for it. Just start on putting all of that information together, so you can quickly respond when and if the time comes. Best of luck!

mioftu -- relax! While I can't promise you smooth sailing, there are definitely people on here who sent in "the minimum" and got approved. I agree with agripa, that each case is different and quality definitely trumps quantity.

If they have any doubts they will definitely ask you for more information. I'd prepare additional documents (photos, travel, etc) just in case, as agripa said too. Typically VJer's seem to like to "front load" applications - sending multiple types of documents proving the relationship as you mentioned, but you do not have to do this.

Stay positive and I wish you and the others still waiting for NOA2s good luck! :D
