The welcome letter is generated after you've had your case number assigned... it will come via email. Usually around 2 weeks after NVC has received the case. You can call NVC to see if they've received the package.

 

The trick is your USCIS service center may be slow to send the package to NVC. It could be a couple days or a couple weeks before they send it off - its totally random.

Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone who recently got approvals!  

 

Pretty quiet from my end---still waiting for NVC approval just like the rest of the backlogged applicants who have been waiting for ages now. We are on the 5th week since our scan date, but we mistakenly thought it was our 6th week so we called up NVC and was told they had until 6th week to get to our pack. It is frustrating when you let it get to you, but you know, it is what it is. Everyone will get to the end of this journey no matter what, anyway.

Its been a while since I had posted any updates. Hope everyone is well. Happy New Year by the way! I have updated my case directly on the above table. We are currently under supervisor review as of  yesterday, 1/30/2017. My case has been at the NVC for 6 weeks now. We were one of those that got a quick USCIS case approval but now we are stuck in the NVC processing step. And I mean "stuck" compared to how quick they approved our case. Can anyone give me advice as to what can I do or say to get my case reviewed by the supervisor? Thanks.

This is so frustrating!!!!! This waiting is just awful ......I just want my husband here already....

my NOA was on September 28 and I spoke to a customer service rep today who said it could possibly be another 5 months before we even hear anything!! ?

Jesus, that's awful. My NOA1 is a few days after you and even worse my application has been sent to the blackhole that is the Nebraska Service Center.

Oh mine is at Nebraska too! It's so difficult trying to stay positive and hopeful....I do good for so many weeks and then it's just like a big reality check knocking me back...I just keep trying to remember that this has to end at some point!!!

Hit the 6 week mark since my scan date at the NVC last Wednesday and called them up. I waited until I got an operator - averaging 40 minutes for me when calling 2pm Pacific time. In addition to the usual questions (petitioner name, beneficiary name and birthdate) they asked if I submitted my DS-260. I always pause and that question thinking to myself it's odd question since don't they see it on their system. Anyways...they told me since it has been passed 6 weeks it will be sent to supervisor review. 

 

Been calling everyday since then to get a status update and noticed I'm more annoyed with waiting on hold. Hoping to get a CC soon but not getting my hopes up yet. 

 

By the way, I've had best chance in getting through the busy message and connected to NVC customer service by not selecting early morning or lunch breaks or dinner time. And if I do get a the "busy message" I just hang up and call again. The other day I must have redialed 20 times. I know that maybe difficult for those living outside of the US. Just wanted to share my experience.

I approved first letter on 6 September 2016    Bt nothing happen yet after that no any other letter or text ......I have Nebraska center also... I applied for I 130 for parents

Today marks 5 months exactly. Have not heard anything since my NAO 1 on September 1st. It is killing me not having my husband here. All I want is to be with him. Nebraska is the worst service center. It feels like you are in hell when you are there. Fingers crossed sometime this month something happens. I am hoping for a transfer to a center that is already past September. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My husband just called, they said we have to wait one month or a month and a half to be able to hear anything, My PD AUGUST 4TH

I agree. I think sometimes you just have to step away from this website or the sheer randomness of this process will really get to you. It's not even the waiting that bothers me, it's that arbitrary nature in which some applications sail through, some nationalities are clearly favored over others (aren't we all US citizens???), etc. I've unsubscribed from all the notifications on VisaJourney; I'll see you guys in a couple of months.

I know, Nebraska is a real nightmare, but let's look at the bright side, they've started approving some August applications, i think they might start looking at September applications pretty soon.
