It's very rough, you shouldn't feel embarrassed for crying though, totally understandable :)

Thanks PeteandJoe. I'm over the embarrassment now. Going to collect myself and get ready to call again on Monday for my CC. The champagne is chilling in the meantime :)

sorry to hear MrsBrook, I had my breakdown monday when I was printing out everything to send to hubby so he has a copy of everything when the interview comes, the whole folder disappeared without any error or anything, i broke down. I had to recollect all documents and redo all of it, luckily this time it was quicker as i had them in multiple places and i store most of them in an online secure vault. They just needed to be reconsolidated.

hang in there ..... we all have to stay strong.

I'm so glad you managed to get everything back - and good advice! I keep everything in a purple ring binder and have made certified copies of all the originals, plus everything is scanned and saved on my computer, in DropBox and on my external hard drive. Plus everything backed up to TimeMachine. So no fear of losing anything! As for 'hanging in there', I have no choice but to just get up and keep going. Today is exactly a year since my NOA1. In some respects it's gone really quickly, but in other ways it's been the longest year of my life. So close to the finish line, time seems to drag, doesn't it?

Thanks Saylin!

The old address is his parents' house, so if NVC sends anythign it would not be a problem. I was just worried that once he is my sponsor, it would be mandatory for him to update his address with USCIS. In adition, his job changed (his dad will be joint-sponsor, he was unemployed and now he has a job); I believe we can just change the I864 by the time of the interview, right?

Thank you!

Just start using the new address on the DS-260. Then mention at the interview that he's got a new address; they may update the I-864.

As long as NVC has your email addresses on file, everything they send should be emailed. If not, hopefully your husband set up mail forwarding, so he'll get anything at his new address anyways.

USCIS:

2015/3/23: I-130 Sent: (Let's start the waiting game!)

2015/3/25: NOA1 Sent by email, case routed to the USCIS California Service Center (hardcopy 2015/6/4)

2015/4/21: NOA2 (email; got hardcopy in 2015/5/6)

NVC:

2015/5/21: Got NVC case # and IIN

2015/5/29: Filled DS261 online

2015/6/1: Payed AOS fee online

2015/6/5: Sent AOS and IV packages

2015/6/8: DS261 reviewed over the phone

2015/6/8: Scan Date

2015/7/5: Payed IV fee online

2015/7/8: Filled DS260

2015/7/23: Checklist!!

2015/7/25: Checklist Scan Date

2015/8/18: NVC CC

NVC phone reps have a new trick:

"Let me transfer you to a case specialist."

And you're back on hold for another half an hour.

I got that the first time I called after they had assigned me a case number but before I had the number. Then after I had been on hold for 10 min the call dropped. Called back later that day and got my case number from the first rep I talked to without needing to talk to a case specialist.

Great plan! I'll get the Pom-poms ready to cheer!

The past few months have been difficult here In general - ill family member getting worse, passing away and the horrible stuff that comes with it being stuck in the middle with quarrelling relatives - so it'd be great to get some good news, for any of us!

Hi there,

Congrats to everyone whose i130 has been approved. We just got approval on Wednesday! Can someone offer me any help in determining what docs we should prepare in the mean time for the NVC. Especially, for the police certificate; who should it be addressed to? A warm Jamaican thank you for your help!

If God takes us to it, He'll bring us through it. He'll never take us where His grace cannot reach and keep us

Please review the WIKI, it has all the details we need to follow:

you should read Saylin's wiki specifically and also the top part from Saylin in this thread.
