HELP: DEADLINE TOMORROW - Work asked for PROOF OF WORKING PERMIT while renewing to the 10-yr GC. What should I submit to them?!

HR at work just called me saying that on my I-9 it doesn't say the Expiration Date and their system shows that I don't have a valid work permit since my 2-yr GC expired last August 2017. I applied to remove my 2-yr GC to 10-year last May, and even got my 551 stamp this February. This lady is not that familiar with our Green Card paperwork procedure since she mainly deals with American citizen. What paperwork and reference I should submit  to prove to her that I can work legally here and kind of educate her on the matter? 

 I NEED TO HAVE A PHONE CALL WITH HER AND MY SUPERVISOR TOMORROW SO MY DATA IS UPDATED. Please help - I'm super freaked out.

Do you not have a I797? (i.e the letter you should’ve got confirming they’d received your ROC application) -  first line says that the green card is extended for a year and that you are allowed to work and travel?

They should not reverify you. Show them your driver's licence and SSN card.

The I 797 NOA1 they send you is very clear that it authorizes you to work for 1 year past your green card expiration date. Bring your Greencard and the NOA1.

@VeraBradley Where does it state that an expired green card + I-797 notice serves as proof of work authorization ?

I've never received the NOA1 after sending in my ROC package. Luckily last month I went and got my I-551 Stamp. I researched that they're equivalent to one another. But is there any confirmation saying that I-551 is a good enough proof to replace the expired work permit?

It does not say that. Your I-797 states that it extends your green card by a year hence serves as a proof of work authorization.

 

The links mention that the I-551 stamp can be used to prove that you are a legal resident.

Yes, the links I provided mention that the I-551 stamp is a List A item for your I-9s. Therefore, it makes you a LPR and you are legally authorized to work.

Tell them to read Page 8 of i-9 instructions which mentions Foreign Passport with a temporary i-551 stamp as acceptable document. They shud be the one asking you if you have any of the listed document.

Tell the HR dept to actually read the I-9 form and instructions. You should also read it so you know exactly what is permitted.

 

It even says at the top of the form itself:

“The refusal to hire or continue to employ an individual because the documentation presented has a future expiration date may constitute illegal discrimination”

 

At any rate, if you present a valid state ID and an unrestricted social security card, it fulfills I-9 requirements.

In addition, the employer is not permitted to specify which documents are presented.

8/15/17: 2-year conditional Permanent Resident card expired

90 days prior to that anniversary, on 5/15/17, i’ve sent the petition to remove my conditional status on residence with Form I-751. 

Please find attached the Notice of Action 791 from USCIS as a receipt showing that my Removal of Condition package has been received by USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) and my case is moving along in the system. 

 

 

5/25/17 ROC package sent

6/3/17: Check cashed by USCIS

6/9/17: Biometrics Notice sent

6/28/17: Biometrics Appointment completed

2/13/18: Infopass appointment schedule to have 1-year stamp on birth country passport

Please find attached the scan of Stamp I-551 on my foreign passport, which is a form I-9 acceptable document (List A Document - which are documents that establishes both Identity & Employment Authorization).
