So the dreaded Checklist thread. I'd like to get a stats forum topic about all the many ways that NVC will hit you with a checklist. Perhaps we can aid in helping others prevent the checklist before it even happens.

Please be specific as possible (as in what section, what form, when you received the checklist) - the more specific you are the more likely others will follow -- Our goal is to prevent checklists!

:luv: Lots of LOVE to all of you out there! Thanks!

I'll start off for you :P.

We received a checklist for a w2! (AOS Package). The W2 form didn't exist since my wife worked in the UK! (We have P60's, which she included). She also had a note saying the UK did not do w2's, only P60's.

We were able to speak to a supervisor, who said they would remove the checklist- It took 31 business days to remove their error. :bonk:

Hey happy to see you, I received a letter yesterday saying the AOS was incomplete well know better cause our angel doesn't make mistakes so I called and said there is no way and Don told me twice the AOS was accepted. I thought I was going to die but she spoke to a supervisor and all is well thank God. Now just praying they don't lose any of our documents. :(

Praying NVC speeds up more so all this will be over for everyone but mostly for those getting checklists. :(t5063.gif

Ugh. I can't believe that you can actually create *MORE* time when *THEY* made the mistake! I find it absurd that you had to wait an additional 31 business days because of their error...clearly they are still about 10 years behind when it comes to process improvements.

We got a checklist because hubby forgot to mark a qs asking if he ever worked in military. Yes talk about tiny mistake. Urghhh.

OMG Samreen! I can't believe something so small...and then you have to re-submit the paperwork again plus 60 days!?

Hi, just to make sure... you only need W-2 when you send tax returns, right? In that case, it's Form 1040 (or 1040a/ez/etc) + W-2s (or this other forn in your case)

If you send tax transcripts: the transcript and nothing else?

I think we have it pretty simple because we're doing I-864ez but trying to avoid this checklist at all costs. :(

hello to all - any searches done, with advanced search tool, for nvc checklist / checklists, so far ? it's a powerful tool, visible in upper right hand corner, when logged in from a PC.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I'd received 2 checklists so far. One for AOS- incomplete form- few things were filled incorrectly and few things missing. I did send everything on July 26 - received by NVC on July 31. Then I' received another checklist on sept 12th for not submitting PCC from passport office. My hubby is in the process of obtaining the PCC which could take anywhere from 15-30 days. Then I'll receive it and mail to NVC. And guys guess what I'd have to wait another 60 days. That's just killing me.

I got an AOS checklist for omitting the number 1 for number of immigrants sponsored on Joint sponsor's AOS (even though there was only 1 name and it stated 1 on my AOS). Turns out I did have it filled correctly on there but it lost formatting between my adobe pdf and my joint sponsors. ANNOYED!!!

We got multiple checklists for

1. PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE

2. Financial Evidence (Not sure how AOS was missing but can't argue with NVC... so had to send again)

3. I864 --> Part 3 is incorrect. Item 7. The total number of immigrants listed in Item 7 must equal the number of immigrants listed in Part 3, Items1 through 6.f. In addition, you must also verify that the total number of immigrants listed in Item 7 matches thenumber you entered in Part 5

- In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...[x] Item 13.a. You must include your _____2013___________________ tax and income information.[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federalincome tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.

You must submit the following financial evidence:[x] A written statement indicating why you did not file ____________2013________ Federal income tax returns.[x] ___2013_______________ Federal income tax returns, IRS printout, or Letter 1722 issued by the IRS.

4. One time they misplaced my son's I864 !! Had to send it again and wait for 60 days for them to review

So I am doing EP --- was lucky enough to send both IV and AOS package emails at the same time. Scan date was july 10.

Sept 9 -- got the checklist for AOS, -- Part 6 -- Item 10. Had to write the total form Part 5c, 6c, 7c and 9. My lawyer didn't enter the number. And Hence a checklist. Took 30 seconds. Fixed it, sent it back.
