Hey everyone - I hope you can help!

I got back from America today (a ten-day trip to visit my fiancé) to find a letter from The U.S. Embassy London (dated 8th January 2015), to say they have received our approved petition.

In the letter, there is a copy of the original I-129F, along with a pamphlet about immigrants' rights when subject to domestic violence.

I really need some help because I have NO IDEA what I need to do next. Do I need to contact the embassy now?

I have already received my 'no trace' police certificate and I got the affidavit of support prepared with my fiancé, during this trip.

Can anyone help me work out what I need to do next? I have started the DS-160, but I am wondering whether I need to complete and return a checklist to them.

I really appreciate all your help, so thanks guys!

Go to the U.S. embassy webpage of London they give you all the info you need there. Also take a look at the guide on the site. The embassy site is good and gives you all you need. Been though this. With London reecntly.

Hello!

I am SO confused right now. I received a letter from the U.S. embassy London to say that they have received my approved petition. With this letter, there was a copy of my approved I-129F and a leaflet about domestic violence.

There are no instructions on the letter and I now have absolutely NO idea what to do next. Do I need to send copies of my original documents needed for the interview to the NVC? When I look at the checklist online, it tells me that all applicants processed by NVC after 12th November 2014 need to send copies of the originals to NVC.

I want to book my medical and get a date sorted for my interview, but the letter is so confusing that I do not have a single clue what I need to do now :(

So grateful for your help!

I haven't seen your London letter, but the ones I have seen say in the text to find your instructions on the London embassy website and they give you the URL. THIS http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html it tells you what to do step by step.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I found the link to the checklist I have been told to look at:http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv_and_k_interview_checklist2014.pdf The part I am confused about is the bit that says, in red, 'From November 12, 2014: Applicants are required to submit documents to the NVC'... etc.

The USCIS received our petition on 30th September 2014 and it was approved by NVC on 25th November 2014. With that in mind, does the requirement to send copies of documents to the NVC apply to our case?

Thanks!

YOU (K1)

Applications processed by the Embassy in London -

You are required to obtain the original documents or certified copies, and one photocopy (with the exception of your passport and photographs) of the following documents for yourself and each family member applying for a visa. All documents are required even if they were previously submitted to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services with your petition.

- - - - - -

NOT YOU (so don't even read it)

Applications processed by the National Visa Center (NVC) -

If you submitted your original documents to the NVC prior to November 12, 2014, you will not be required to obtain additional copies. You should check the list below to ensure that you have obtained all applicable documents. If any applicable documents were not submitted to the NVC, you should be prepared to present them at the time of your interview.

From November 12, 2014: Applicants are required to submit copies of their documents to NVC and bring the original document to the visa interview. The original Affidavit of Support, Form I-864 is still required by NVC and will be forwarded to the Immigrant Visa Unit with your file and available to the consular officer.

If you follow the link I gave you, it gives you a step by step order of what a K1 does and it is written by the embassy. Click here -->> http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Hi, I never received mine either, you can contact them using this form: http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

In the mean time if you call NVC to get your case number so that you can book your medical, fill out the DS-160 and complete the readiness form.

Don't be too premature though, it takes a couple of weeks from your petition being assigned a case number at NVC to receive a letter from London. Perhaps it hasn't been sent yet?
