You guys are all awesome! April, thanks so much for the info! It's very encouraging :) I like what I'm reading!!!

So Yuna- you can plan to get the shots and whatnot? I mean Santys here so we can't do much right now, and I'm HOPING we'll have the NOA2 before he goes back, but.. So what exactly can we do while we wait other than get docs together? Someone said we can't do the police cert or obviously medical, but we can get the immunizations? Sooo confused as to what order to go in.

I'm also getting worried about GC process. Gonna talk to my lawyer about it bc we have plans to marry in Ecuador in oct, but you don't get travel permission until GC which can take anywhere from 2 to 6 months! Meaning if we get married in June (pending quick interview which Ecuador typically has), it could still take longer than oct! Ugh! And for our honeymoon, too. :( So much stuff to deal with. This whole process is a big pain and unfair but at least most of the worst is over.. I hope! hahaha

Soooo close to the end of this visa business...... :)

Are you two having fun, or what?? :dancing:

I know this was directed at yuna but I'm gonna chime in because D & I are doing the same thing... I've also had Daniel get started on pre-NOA2 stuff. There's a great list in the UK subforum so I've been using that. Maybe you can find something similar in the Latin America subforum. Also check the embassy's site for K-1 and just read through their process to figure out how long things are good for and what you can get started with. Daniel has already ordered his birth certificate and is seeing about getting his shots done before he flies here for a visit in a month. Then when he gets back he will order his police cert since it's good for a year in London. And he will also order a new passport. His is pretty beat up and London is very particular about the condition of the passport.

Once I do my taxes, I'll start working on the affidavit of support stuff. I might fill out the form and print my tax transcript. I'll wait til we get NOA2 to actually sign the form and get the employer letter that London really wants.

At the embassy stage it can get pretty specific to that emabssy so best bet is to scour/advanced search your regional subforum and the embassy's website.

Are you going to apply for AP at the same time as AOS? AP/EAD take about 90 days it looks like. Fairly tight timing since we can't even say when the K-1 will be issued yet. Can you push the wedding in Equador back any to give you some wiggle room in case of delays at any of the stages?

There is indeed, sign up for an account and add your case number that way. Sign up button is right below the check status section. https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Unfortunately I cannot give you specific advice on police certificates for Ireland, as getting ones for England are different as far as I know. You may be able to go to your local station or phone them and make an inquiry, other threads have implied this. According to the embassy faq it refers you to Garda. http://dublin.usembassy.gov/faqs_immigration.html Garda mentions police certificate procedures. http://www.garda.ie/Controller.aspx?Page=2742&Lang=1

I would also assume that the petitioner or co-sponsor (if you need one) will need to eventually send along the I-134 form and financial support information.

My fiancé has a duplicate copy of the entire packet sent to the USCIS, including all evidence and photos. He'll be getting his shots from his doctor next month to get up to date before he has his eventual medical, and he'll be getting his police certificate then.

Sounds like what happens in the UK when they get an inch of snow.

Oops still getting the hang of this,,,,, a big thank yuna your message is so detailed and helpful....

I ordered my Police Certs today which should take 3 weeks maybe a bit longer as I am a social worker and go on oath in court sometimes...hopefully this won't delay things!....My embassy told me there is no issue in me scheduling a medical for next month as the results are valid for 6 months considering we are approved by Sept!

I created a uscis account......it's very blank!!!!!! Was hoping it would have more info....I read on the August filers account that a few peoples alien registration number changed approx 3 weeks before NAO2 was issued so that's something to look forward to :)

Are other peoples accounts as blank as this???

Soooo close to the end of this visa business...... :)

He's getting all his required shots from his GP before his medical (and documentation to pass to them later), so that they will be free. He's unfortunately missing any record of his MMR, so it's good he's getting it done now, as that will be two shots spaced out. That explains why he had mumps once I guess. We're having an outbreak of measles atm, so I'm relieved he's actually getting that shot.

I stupidly gave him the I-134, tax transcript, and employer letter last year. That was because I didn't know how bloody long this was going to take. I'll have to send him new updated ones in a few months I guess.

Oops still getting the hang of this,,,,, a big thank yuna your message is so detailed and helpful....

I didn't know you could get a medical done before getting your NOA2. It works differently in Ireland then?

And yes, since the website update it unfortunately looks pretty depressingly blank. As you can see our ARN was changed long ago and doesn't seem to have any basis on getting the NOA2, but it seems they don't actually let you know that anymore since the update. It does seem like they are working on August for sure

Thanks guys! We'll see what we can do :) I've asked a few people, but I feel like a few of the Ecuador people on here are getting annoyed with my questioning! It's hard trying to find this stuff :(

But we already booked everything before we even knew about filing the k-1! Thankfully the Ecuadorian embassy only takes about a month or so to schedule an interview then you can get the visa (pending approval, of course, which we hope will happen!) same day or a few days after, so if we have our NOA2 by May (if no crazy delays), that means hopefully we'll have the visa by June. We plan on filing everything at once and getting married right away, so hopefully that'll give us enough time. At this point, there aren't too many 'major' holidays like Christmas, so I think it should the NOA2 should at least get here by May! I'm hoping for maybe like mid-April :)

Now that I've used the word hope and hopefully a million times.... let's hope that happens. hahaha :D

PS.. April- so much fun! Thanks! We're doing so much fun wedding stuff. I love that he's finally here during our engagement to help me plan and not in Ecuador while I do everything hahah! It's been a blast, and we're really blessed to be able to be together during all of this. :)

Hey all,

Hope everyone is well - and not allowing the frustration and boredom of waiting affect you too much.

My Fiance has booked flights over to the US for next week; and tends to get a difficult time going through immigration due to the frequency he flies to me. He hasn't been over since July.

I was just wondering what other people's experiences are travelling over to visit each other? How do people tend to be treated by immigration?

23rd October 2014: Petition posted.

1st November 2014: Form I-129F received - we received text and email.

2nd November 2014: Physical NOA1 received. Form I797c, Notice Of Action. Notice Type: Receipt.

(January 21st 2015 - told through phone call to expect NOA2 in May due to backlog.)

4th June 2015: NOA2 "On June 4, 2015, we approved your Form". No email, no text - just happened to check their site.

9th June: Received hard copy.

16th June 2015: Case Was Sent To The Department of State for visa processing.
