Dzam Derick & . Guatemala National/MSC No Guatemala 2021-09-29 2022-10-23 2023-10-30 2023-12-14 2024-02-12 2024-03-01 JUST MOVED :) AS OF 3/03/24-- I moved to the US this last friday the 1st. Did not have any problems with admittance or entrance, just had to wait around 45 minutes for the officers to do the proper paperwork. We already paid the USCIS Immigrant fee, so now we are just waiting to receive my SSN and I-551 (greencard). AS OF 2/16/24-- My IR2 immigrant visa was issued and was picked up from the local Cargo Expreso after we received confirmation that it was ready. Basis for denial-- In my (first and only) interview, my immigrant visa was denied. This, due to records showing that I was removed from a port of entry on my last trip. This decision was incorrect and later corrected by the embassy. Denial dispute-- We reached out to a lawyer regarding the denial, who advised us to contact the embassy for further resolution, since the decision was wrongly made. A resolution was finally received by the Immigrant Visa Unit in Guatemala City (GUATEMALAIV@state.gov). (Many attempts were done to contact the embassy itself, USCIS or NVC, but the one done with the IV unit yielded a proper resolution). Guatemala.USCIS@uscis.dhs.gov support@ustraveldocs.com https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html Personal comments-- Do not give up. If you already submitted your application you have a clear goal in mind, and the grounds to start working on it. It is not plausible to give up in the middle of the process, once you already paid your bills and your case was received; JUST BECAUSE you found some troubles on the way. Keep going until you have exhausted ALL resources you have at your disposal. Then gather more, inquiry, and try again. This process will not stop unless you decide to give up. The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way. -Marcus Aurelius My case was not easy. Lots of feelings were involved into it. Being as young as I am, this was critical in my future. I did it to move with my family in the US. I want to have them remember me as a good example of determination and responsibility and, also, as a good son and brother. But that is why I did not give up. Please, if you have any doubts feel free to contact me through my user. I wish I had somebody that had this same experience before to have guided me through it. -Derick 2024-03-04

A lot of questions about my personal issues instead questioning of my children and their pertinent application. That caused a very long processing time that led to expiration of my children’s medical exam. Hence, we must repeat it! 2023-06-11

Approved on 5/26/2022. Apparently the case is sent without a review of the submitted documents and the consulate will schedule the appointment, not the NVC. Prior to receiving any notice from the consulate, I opened an account at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com and submitted a request to schedule an appointment. That request was approved and I was able to select an appointment prior to receiving notice that the consulate had received my file. 2022-07-27
