Sirdaniel42 reacted to Zedayn in work permit at Dulles POE with K1
Nope, they don't issue work permits at POE. If you want permission to work, you need to apply for your EAD. Its advised to apply after you are married and file AOS, since the filing fee is waived and your EAD is good for 1 year. You CAN apply as soon as you enter the US, but you will have to pay a filing fee and your EAD will expire when your I-94 expires.
Best advice: Get married, and file AOS with your EAD and AP as soon as possible after marriage. Your EAD card will arrive about 2 months after you file.

The first envelop you can open, there should not be "DO NOT OPEN" stamped on all sides.
Inside will be the envelop that you MUST NOT open and your passport with K-1 visa.
    btw Congratulations

You already have a green card, after you sent in your ROC forms they will sent you an NOA-1 which will double as an extension letter for your green card and is good for 1 year.

    Google is your friend,
Gross is before taxes, deductions and garnishments, etc. So if you make 5000/mo, and you have 1000 in taxes, 250 in medical 100 in dental and 500 in 401(k) deductions, your gross is 5000 and your net (the amount they deposit) is 3150.

Sirdaniel42 reacted to Darnell in Should I call ICE About My Roommate's Sham Marriage?
I would suggest you make the report into ICE.
At some point, the report you have filed makes it into her casefile and is reviewed. Sure, it might take a month or a year for your report to find it's way into her casefile, but ...
I look at it this way - you've helped remove 1 scammer from the system. That's 1 less. 1 less, in my book, is a win, always.

Sirdaniel42 reacted to aaron2020 in Can I sue USCIS if they caused my marriage to fail?
You can sue. However, you case will be tossed out of court.
What has USCIS done wrong? What laws has USCIS violated in handling your case?
You cannot win if the case is simply taking longer than you would like.
You made the choice to marry a foreign citizen. There is no absolute right for your foreign spouse to live in the US based on your marriage. The financial burdens are yours choices too.
There is a process for you to get your wife here. Immigration is not Burger King. You can't have it your way.

You need to take a breather. You filed last month and you are already up in arms about suing and getting a Super Pac together. You are over reacting by a lot.

What??????Don't go to a lawyer. Go to an immigration or legal rep. What is an "immigration and legal rep?" And will this person have the qualifications to appear in immigration court?
What do you mean by "explain to her you want nothing other than your right to stay here?" Where did this "right to stay here" for a foreign citizen come from?

You signed an annulment, got into enough criminal trouble that you were in jail, did not remove conditions in a timely manner. You need an excellent attorney not just a good one. Chances are slim.

Sirdaniel42 reacted to Harpa Timsah in Married... now what?
The fee is $1070 and has been for years. Find the AOS from K-1 guide up top. You may have another interview, or it could be waived. You must send the money up front or they will not process your papers. There is no deadline to file AOS, but sooner is better, because until then you cannot work, cannot travel abroad, cannot drive, and you will start to accumulate days of overstay and be subject to detention.
For anyone else reading this: All K-1s need to realize that AOS comes after you marry; it is more expensive than the K-1 visa. Time waiting for NOA2 is a good time to study up on the next parts.

Pardon the intrusion on your overzealous rant but you JUST sent your petition in three days ago. If anyone else joins you on this rant, they're foolish. You should put your anger back in your pocket and give up on this process now before you destroy every opportunity you have to get your spouse here with you. If you're this angry now and you havent even gotten in to the line yet, by the time you have more work to do and/or have to communicate with the government to finalize paperwork, what the hell kind of crazy will you be by then. You really should calm down and wait like all the rest of us. You sure as hell arent hoping with that that youre going to get any special favors. Good grief. If anyone else on VJ subjects their real self and their spouses identity to you and puts themself in this firestorm you're trying to start, your spouse and theirs will never get thru the interview and you'll be in line for longer than the rest of us. Just sayin. You wont hear back from me again. Hope you get the old heeve ho here by VJ. Good.luck.

"I hate it so much when people ask me "You got married? Why didn't she come back with you to the States?" Idiots, no one knows how completely useless, lazy, and badly-run the USCIS is! And no one understands that we have the worst immigration system in the world! If my wife was from a developed country I would never even think about bringing her to this rotting cesspool we call America!
Seriously I have no idea why someone married to a German, Canadian, or British citizen would want to bring their spouses to live here, this country sucks. If I could get work over there I would move in 1 second and never come back."

I AM SORRY. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT SOMEONE, NO MATTER HOW BAD THEIR SITUATION, WHO SPEAKS ABOUT OUR COUNTRY IN THAT MANNER. YES YOU HAVE THAT RIGHT, BUT I WOULD NEVER ALIGN WITH SOMEONE WHO CALLS OUR COUNTRY A "ROTTING CESSPOOL" AND THAT "THIS COUNTRY SUCKS".

Nigerian men can feel entitled to "a little on the side" and many expect that you will ignore that . You must make a decision if that is how you can live or not. There is nothing ok with that behavior it is rooted in cultures that do not value women. You will not change him. I know there is stigma with being divorced in Nigeria but personally I would find it preferable to sharing a bed with a pig
