I am a GC holder from last 10 years and I did not feel the need to go through the process of citizenship. However, ground realities changed here in the US and my concerns led me to apply for citizenship. I filed online on 5/7/2018.  Got my biometrics done on 5/30/2018.

I had my interview this morning (1/4/2019). During the course of my interview I found out that I was being interviewed by the Supervisor who was filling in for one of his staff.  We were talking more like friends than anything else. He did complete all his requirements while we discussed everything under the sun other than politics. This interview/ meeting lasted for over 65 minutes.

I got back home and checked my status online, here is what I saw :-

So, guys my journey is almost over and I want to wish everyone my best. Before I close this post, I would like to share that I did ask him that in the past this process was not taking more than 3 months now on an average it is over a year. Are you guys following orders to delay the process or staff have been pulled out to perform other duties?  He shared that couple of years back a decision was made to digitize the entire process and the new system after it got implemented was full of glitches which totally derailed the timeline. Once it was realized that the system may take much longer to get rolling as it should, we went back to older manual system as we had huge backlog.

Now the system is stable and is working as it should be (my writing and civic test was done on the tablet.) And they are rapidly making progress. They have some field office where situation is current.

Off and on I was reading the forum here to get a sense of what was going on. This is the only post I have created on this topic essentially to inform you guys patience is virtue and things will happen when they have to happen.

    My best to all.

P.S. Please don’t ask me my field office.

As per Visa Bulletin of March 2013
    F1 (if I file as USC) 15 FEB 06
    F2B (if I file as LPR) 01 MAR 05
Just looking at the dates it seems file as USC should be faster but not sure if this is correct assessment.
