My fiance just landed at JFK. It took 4 hours to get through customs. Please keep this in mind if you're buying connecting flights

I'll be seeing her very soon 🙂

My beneficiaries currently have health insurance through our state marketplace. State marketplace. They also had an interview today for temporary assistance as well as snap benefits.  I am not an attorney though. But my understanding was there was a new law that passed that says they're eligible. Even though we are sponsoring them. The application asked if there was a sponsor and we said yes.

Yes, U4U is humanitarian Parole. From what I understand the information you quoted is true. Health insurance can be obtained through the healthcare.gov site.

I will share the trick with you guys. When you are calling USCIS when the automated system asks for your first answer, you need to say "info pass"... you will talk with the actual person in less than 1 minute

A supporter/sponsor does not have to be an immediate family member for Uniting for Ukraine. The beneficiaries I am supporting are my friends, not immediate family members. In my circumstance, they were approved in 1 day and will be traveling this week.

I filled out the 134 to get my Ukrainian sister in law US entry on 6/1.  It was completely approved and she has the travel authorization in hand in less than 24 hours!   Crazy fast!

Our beneficiaries got here tonight. Picked them up at O'Hare , just got them settled in for the night. Their flight landed at 8pm but they didn't get out of CBP clearance until nearly 3 hours later. Apparently there were a lot of other U4U folks on the same flight from Warsaw, and they were processing all of them in a group. Asked a bunch of questions, took photos, not quite sure what else took 3 hours. Anyway, the ordeal is over and they're now officially and legally in the US. Tomorrow we can start the million +1 things needed to integrate them successfully.

Oh, since I'm on a roll here (4 posts in a row... let's make it 5!) here is a shameless plug for a couple of blog posts I wrote about my experience so far with the U4U program.

The forms are very easy to fill up. The biographic info is already prefilled you just need to confirm. You can add other family members, so you don't need to be doing an USCIS acct for each of them if they are traveling together!

all I included was my passport, my birth certificate, my W2 from last year, and a few recent sequential paychecks. I was approved.

I don't think the standard of evidence is extremely high, in case anyone was wondering. I make a very average wage for my area, maybe even a little below.

also impatiently awaiting the email with further instructions. very happy the first step didn't take a ridiculous amount of time.

edit; I will say that I specified exactly what kind of support I am going to give my partner, that may be a factor (since we're getting married ASAP anyway, I just stated that she's going to have full access to my income).

I'm also in Poland with my fiance and have thought about getting married here as well. I have even been thinking about going to Mexico because I am starting to get desperate. I can't leave her here, but also won't be able to stay much longer. I'm glad you at least got approved for an expedite. I can't seem to understand why our case still hasn't been approved for an expedite. I think 23 days is plenty of time to decide whether or not to expedite. Anyways I'm wishing the best for the both of us, and everyone else 🙂

Is anyone else here still waiting on results of expedite request? I was asked to provide evidence for expedite request, and submitted evidence on March 2nd, and was told it was sent to an officer for review. I don't know what exactly they are reviewing, as it's pretty obvious to the entire world what is going on. I have recently reached out to my state senators office to inquire on my behalf which was done on Monday March 21st. I understand USCIS tends to take there time with things, but I honestly don't understand why it's taking so long for them to say either yes or no to expedite request. I don't want to sound entitled or impatient but it's been increasingly difficult as each day passes with no response. Anyways, sorry for the rant, just wanted to hear from any others if they are still waiting for results from their expedite requests, and if so how long.

On the same boat! Filled an expedite request on March 1st, approved March 2nd and no news since then. Not sure what to do as we are in Poland together but my 90 days here ends soon and don't want to leave my fiancee here by herself. We are thinking to get married & file i-130 in person but not sure whether it's going to be faster than waiting for expedited 129f..

USCIS recieved my I-129F mid-July of last year. According to current USCIS case-processing times, it was on track to being reviewed some time between August-September.

I called USCIS to expedite processing of our application a couple weeks before the war started and our request was denied.

I called again to USCIS last week to re-request expedited processing. Today I checked the stauts of our case and saw not that expedited processing was approved, but our I-129F was APPROVED.

    Wow.

Next step is NVC, which is known to be slow as well. Can this step be expedited as well? Also, I would like to route our application to an embassy in Canada. Who should I contact to do this? NVC?

Submitted a second request for expedited processing of my I129F and was approved! First one was submitted a few days before war started 2nd one I submitted 2/28 and just received the email it was accepted. Now the problem is that there is no way to obtain a police report. Police said they can't provide this due to the war. I am hoping USCIS will allow Ukrainian's to do without the certificate.

If you have the IR1 visa in your passport you can enter the US immediately.  At POE, give the CBP officer that processes your case and stamps your visa the address you want your SS card and green card mailed to.  Then contact USCIS after you enter the US and make sure they also have your correct mailing address.  There's nothing your husband can do about this, you'll get your 10-year green card without him.  He can't cancel your visa or extort money from you. You can come to the US if you want to.  It's up to you if you tell him where you are living in the US.  If I were in your situation, I wouldn't tell him.  File for divorce after you enter the US and move on with your life.  The only change this will have on your immigration journey is that you will need to wait five years to apply for US citizenship instead of 3.  And, save all your documents showing that your marriage was entered into in good faith, that it was bona fide for those two years or more that it lasted, as you might get asked about this if you apply for citizenship or renew your green card in ten years.  Good luck!

So he plans to overstay until he suckers someone into marrying him to get that overstay forgiven? Charming. You’re not going to find advice on that here. When his visa period is up, he needs to GO HOME.
