Petition2252 reacted to OldUser in G-1450 in AOS Packet
You only need one G-1450 for entire packet.
You only pay one biometrics fee for entire packet (if no dependents applying with you)
You can put G-1450 before as the first form.

Same with evidence. You don't need to duplicate evidence. Just submit it after all forms once. Make a table of contents to go before forms explaining what all forms and evidence you submitted in the packet. Good luck.

No it wont. As long as her first and last names, and date  and place  of birth are all the same, this is fine. Not  all countries’ legal documents used the same name formats

All forms in the front, all evidence at the end. That's how my AOS and I-751 packets were submitted. Both approved.

On the I-485   Household  is 1 ( one ) just MIL
    On the I-864 it’s 5 .
Remember to also do I-864 A if you are using income from wife and you to meet guidelines.

Petition2252 reacted to Penguin_ie in Negative attitudes in the forum
I wanted to address the negative attitudes we have seen on the rise recently in the upper/ immigration forums towards those who ask beginner/ simple questions, or have unusually fast or slow VisaJourneys.

First, there is a tone difference between the Progress forums- which are mostly for support and cheerleading, and the Info forums, which are mostly to have questions answered.   While all our forums are supposed to be welcoming to all and friendly, this is especially important in the Progress forums, which are not to discuss politics, or be negative towards  those fortunate to have their case dealt with quickly, or  critical of those who voice sadness about their own slow progress. These forums are there to uplift eachother!

Secondly- in the info forums, you may get bad news.  When a question is asked, our members are encouraged to answer truthfully, even if this may not be what the Op wants to hear, because it is important to be informed.  However, the emphasis is still on being welcoming and friendly.  If you need to give bad news, do so gently, and stick to facts; constructive criticism of the Op's plans ARE allowed, but the emphasis is on constructive.  No need to dwell on mistakes (or tell members they should be on 90 Day Fiance- that is a personal attack and automatic suspension), or  illegal actions in the past- instead, encourage and explain legal options for the future.  And ONLY legal options- as per our TOS, VJ does not support, condone or encourage illegal (immigration) actions, and such posts will be removed.

Ultimately, we are here to help all members, old and new, easy cases and complicated, those who write a fact filled bullet point post and those who are panicking and don't make much sense in their first post. Yes, sometimes questions can be easily googled, or answered via a search of our forums.  But if you feel that way, just scroll past- no need to criticise the OP for asking the question.

Petition2252 reacted to JER2020 in Question about new Public charge rule on I-485
I do not agree with answering no, it's a misinterpretation of the question. All the form is asking is, are you subject to it, and the only way you wouldn't be subject is if you are exempt.

    B. Applicants for Adjustment of Status
Unless they are specifically exempt from the public charge ground of inadmissibility, the public charge ground of inadmissibility will generally apply to all applicants for adjustment of status, including, but not limited to:
    Family-based applicants;
    Employment-based applicants; and
    Diversity visa applicants.

Anyways, i am not too focused if the answer is yes or no, since i already said yes, it is what it is.But my question is how is this impacting people at the time of interview, does anybody know about that?

You are reading it correctly and Yes was / is the correct answer. Being subject to the rules of public charge does not affect you negatively if you have NOT used any public benefits.

Others may know better, but if you meet the requirements of the I864, your mother should not require public assistance, so the answer to 61 should be no.

Petition2252 reacted to Family in Public Charge - Form I-485 Part 8. Items 61 to 68.d. - Filling this out for a parent of adult US citizen - This section is confusing as Hell need some guidance
Simply put , if you are adjusting through a family based petition, and not through the listed exempt categories ( like VAWA, asylum…etc.), then the answer is YES on 61 .to acknowledge your filing category is subject to the rule.
You then have an opportunity to answer if you have ever used public benefits and of course, that will be NO for almost everyone filing.

    https://cliniclegal.org/resources/public-charge-related-questions-form-i-485
Question 61 asks whether the applicant is subject to the public charge ground of inadmissibility. The adjustment of status applicants who are exempted from the public charge ground of inadmissibility are listed in 8 CFR § 212.23(a).

Thank you @OldUser for doing an outstanding job at answering my questions.

The only two remaining are ones I am fairly confident in now

    Now on to filling out the I131, I485, I765, I864, and I864A.

N/A or leave blank for both. It doesn't apply since the beneficiary is divorced. There's no current marriage.

Unsure about this. I adjusted my status in the US.
    Questions 57a - 58f were left blank.
I was asked to write my name in my native alphabet during interview though.
Don't remember about address, I don't think that ever came up.

The date on I-94 is what you need to put. Visa is just a "ticket" to enter the US. Authorized stay can be beyond visa expiration.

Of course her current legal name.
There's separate sections for both petitioner and beneficiary, asking for Other Names used.
There you put all maiden names etc.

Yes, since petitioner is a US citizen in present then no need to provide details. It doesn't ask about the past at this point.

No, I don't believe USCIS prefers ALL CAPS. I filled my forms in ALL CAPS, no issues there. Green card and EAD had sentence case (e.g. just first letters in name capitalized), and not ALL CAPS.

There goes my vote for Obama... I just don't want a trigger happy candidate winning. But living in southern California, enough is enough.
My Brother and his Wife had to both serve in Federal Court Juries (separate cases) where Illegals attempted to cross illegally and repeatedly with expired/voided documentation.
What a waste of time and resources, as soon as they are caught at the border, 12 people get to waste their time in court sending them back.
My mother had to serve on a Jury, where everyone knew the person who committed the crime was illegal, but the court could not check/verify because it was out of their jurisdiction.
And if an illegal gets in a car accident with you, they have nothing to fear. They may not be insured, and won't be able to pay you. But also won't get deported, because the highway patrol cannot check legally.
We need to be more strict with this! I am all for legal immigration, but screw this soft approach on illegals.
I am going through the immigration process with my wife... they too can go through the immigration process or get sent back for breaking the law.
