Is It Okay to Have a Middle Name Blank on the I-693, but Have It Filled in on Other Forms?

Background: My naturalized us citizen wife is sponsoring her mother to become a permanent resident. Belarussian Passports have two ID pages, one that is in Russian and Belarussian, and the other which is in English. The English page does not list the middle name. The Russian and Belarussian page lists the patronymic which may or may not be considered a “middle name”.

For form I-693, we left my wife’s mother's middle name blank because it is not on the English page of her Belarussian passport and this was the first document we completed.

It is completed and sealed by the Civil Surgeon so we cannot make changes to it.

Will it cause any issues if we list my wife’s mother’s middle name on other documents (I-130, I-485, etc), but not the I-693?

No it wont. As long as her first and last names, and date  and place  of birth are all the same, this is fine. Not  all countries’ legal documents used the same name formats

I'd list only First Name and Last Name on I-130, I-485 etc as shown on her passport for international travel.

The AOS forms ask for any other names used. There you can put the name with Patronymic and explain it's not a middle name.
