jimnlena reacted to Dana and Divine in For those people waiting for November Interview Dates
You have to change the font, but that's no problem! You only fail in life when you do not try at all!!! I'm just glad to have you on the list! YEAH! Time is winding down and I'm excited for all of you!

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Buying a Wife from the Ukraine
And they are probably liberals so why bother, right? I bet they think Gay marriage is OK and straight marriage with a Ukrainian is horrible?
They do not rate my time of day.

jimnlena reacted to baron555 in Buying a Wife from the Ukraine
Actually it's quite simple. I paid $99 to contact women from an online catalog, chose my wife, began corresponding and now she's here in the US and were happily married.
Online shopping is Great !!

The question is how are you going to support your spouse when you can't even support yourself?

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Republican landslide in Amazon book vote
That is only because most liberals can't read, write, or work. It does not stop them from voting. Only people voting for Al Gore could not figure out the ballots in Florida, remember.

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in CU-Boulder study predicts win for Mitt Romney in general election
Obama will lose because he only won by 5% and the people who only voted for him to prove they weren't racist now have to vote for Romney to prove they are not mentally retarded.

Um, if they had babies here, then those babies are US Citizens.
It's so tough when people form opinions on misinformation.

jimnlena reacted to TBoneTX in Create a Deferred Action Forum ?
I'm doubtful that we'll have many (if any) direct requests. All of the commentary so far has been from members following "our" existing paths. The existing discussions already fit within the fora where they've been posted, because they're of the "how will this affect (my) processing, huh man?" tenor.
I also strongly believe that anyone who MIGHT ask for direction could only receive the following: (1) Direction to the USCIS instructions on applying, or -- and far more likely -- (2) condemnation from existing members.
Adding even a subforum would open a can of unnecessary worms, si man. A lot of otherwise level-headed members (who so far have been relatively restrained in their comments "within the club") might get written up or thread-banned because this issue would be too hot of a button for them if actual applicants/relatives thereof were to post directly.

jimnlena reacted to cdneh in Part of the American Dream Act Begins Today
Newp. What Obama has done is not correct in a constitutional democracy. What's more he knows that. But anytime he doesn't get his own way in congress, he just signs another executive order. He hasn't got the right to legislate. He has conviently done this now, before the upcoming election, when he could have got off his ####### and done it anytime, from January 2011.
All these people, all this paperwork. All landing with DHS. The worry on the news just now is that they may not be equipped to deal with the deluge of paper, some of it fraudulent, all of it having to be gone over with a fine toothed comb, and in a month no less.
May not be equipped?? They can't deal with the legal immigrants in a timely fashion.
So what happens, the questions begs answering, to all those of us who arrived here by legal means. Those of us who coughed up the money, and took the adivce to do this the legal way, and got in the queue. What center is going to end up bearing the brunt of this mess?? How long are processing times going to be for the legal applicants??
1.8 million applicants. Every last one of these people that turn up, ought to have their filing fee magically turned into a plane ticket back to wherever they came from. If they moan that it isn't their fault, their parents are the ones who broke the law, they can take it up with mommy and daddy. Who are on the same plane out. It isn't up to the government here to fix the poor life choices and illegal actions made by the parents. Who cannot legally vote either, not that that seems to make a blind bit of difference.

jimnlena reacted to Teddy B in Part of the American Dream Act Begins Today
Whether they made the choice to come here or not is irrelevant, they are here illegaly, plain and simple. While I can sympathize with them, I do not agree with allowing them to stay here and giving them a free pass. The buck has to stop somewhere.

jimnlena reacted to Obama 2012 in Part of the American Dream Act Begins Today
and every last one of them should be deported for even trying to apply and admitting their status.
On top of that Obama should be impeached for thinking he can legislate from the White House.
The fact that people even accept this garbage is pathetic.

jimnlena reacted to Penny Lane in Husband doesn't want to file papers
There is something very, very wrong here. You need more help than simply filing papers. Your relationship sounds tragic and abusive and not healthy for you at all. Your husband should be helping you, supporting you, loving you. It doesn't sound like he's doing ANY of this.

jimnlena reacted to Caryh in the price
Its always more than you expect at every stage. I'd say find all the fees, estimate the expenses, then double the entire amount. That's probably closer to how it worked out for us. I thought I had enough money saved away to cover all the expenses. By the time the wedding was done, the money was out and the credit card was running up. Had to scrimp to get together the AOS fee. We've reached the point where she's working now, and although we did fine with only me working, things are much easier with the extra income coming in. We can actually splurge on things and not break the bank. Still if will probably be a couple years until I'm back to the savings level I was at before we started the process.

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in A Nightmare from Kyiv
And I think I have mentioned before the Kiev consulate has a high degree of satisfaction among people that used it, for the most part. Your case is extremely unusual for that consulate and my considerable dealings with them have been very pleasant
Not making excuses for them because I do not know why this happened, but it happened for a reason. In addition they may have made some errors which one could call imcompetence or simply human error, it happens.
Good news for you and yours. I hope your life is happy together and please, never forget what you did to be together.

jimnlena reacted to Gary and Alla in Where is the KEV# generated?
NVC assigns the KEV number, no one else. The NVC processing takes 1-8 weeks depending on if you get AP or not. Calling them is not usually very productive. The petitioner (US citizen) will get a letter from NVC when the case is sent to the consulate with the KEV number.
