  1. Absolutely agree, if it was me I would absolutely want to know where I am, certainly not clear, not externally funded.
  2. If it was me What sort of conversation did you have with the CO about this. Were there others you worked with who wee on a J1, were they subject to 212e Have you spoken to your Uni
  3. Sadly I am not as familiar with the INA clauses as I should be
  4. EAD is free so yes you apply for it. I forget now if a K2 can like a K1 get a SSN after arrival, the way I read it either way you need a SSN so EAD is usually the quickest route to get it otherwise you are waiting for a GC.
  5. 1. They can not refuse you entrance so nil, you can surrender your GC. 2. Well I have only seen this happen twice and one involved a lady who whilst at college in the UK funded herself by providing personal services. This was not the one but a related story: https://www.thedailybeast.com/why-ai-is-detaining-sex-workers-at-the-borderand-you-may-be-next
  6. All I can think of is Consulate error. EB2 suggest you have a Lawyer and I know they have a way of accessing the Consulate and advising them of their error.
  7. Is this the only J you have had?
  8. Lots of people do this, someone I know her husband will file for his daughter when ha naturalises, she will pop over get her US Passport and then go home.
  9. The visa in your passport will say if you are subject to 212e. What were you doing on a J?
  10. No No, more likely a confusion. Assuming you do not need a waiver then however long it takes to clarify matters. Waivers are not a given if needed and vary according to the reason why someone is subject to one.
  11. I am not sure I have seen this with Canada but plenty of others have been OK with continuing income. You have evidence.
  12. It is the Petitioners Finances they are usually most interested in, what is your situation?
  13. This weeks as an urgent job move for the USC so should be ok
  14. Usually being a Contractor makes more sense.
  15. Time for an update. I have been asked to make it clear that the presence of a Gt Pryennees around the 9 second mark in no way condones her behaviour,
  16. What sort of evidence did you submit with the I 130?
  17. https://www.imglobal.com/visitor-insurance My memory is not what it is but I thought this lot did new immigrant insurance, they mention immigrant in the title but then talk about travel, might be worth a call.
  18. Bit of an assumption but Sponsorship for your Husband maybe an issue, do you have anyone to be a Joint Sponsor. Assuming you are in Canada they are quite keen that you show Domicile in the US.
  19. More for my amusement but Tesco do Insurance! https://www.tescobank.com/insurance/
  20. Google New Immigrant Insurance. I do not know of any I would recommend but either that or take the risk. I have been out of the biz for a long time and there certainly not anything in the UK back then, not an obvious market for a UK Insurer but who knows now. Thee is Global Insurance, I seem to remember CIGNA was at least one insurer who did it aimed at the Global Senior Exec market, seems overkill for this.
