  1. Second page is intentionally blank. I had same in my oath ceremony letter. Though I had same day ceremony and never used it.
  2. It may take 4-8 weeks after USCIS receives your ROC packet to get your extension letter.
  3. My I-751 was supposed to be adjudicated in 7 months based on processing times, but it took 20.5 months. And it was the case for almost everybody who filed around same time. Same goes for N-400, only 2-3 years ago it was not out of ordinary to see a timeline like this: Date Filed : 2022-11-10 NOA Date : 2022-11-10 Bio. Appt. : 2022-11-10 Interview Date : 2024-04-02 Approved : Yes Oath Ceremony : 2024-04-02 You can browse here: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?cfl=&op1=6&op2=&op3=&op4=71&op5=5,10,11&op6=All&op7=All I'm not saying your case will take over a year @P055UM. Most likely it will take a lot faster. USCIS can always start processing cases slower without a warning though. So whoever gets scheduled for interview less than 6 months after filing should be considered lucky. I include myself in that list. I wouldn't stress too much about wait. Being LPR is almost as good as being a citizen. Life shouldn't be on hold, unlike when you go through AOS and don't have EAD or SSN and cannot travel.
  4. "Based on request" comes from API code from what I understand, not cancellation letter. I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world to call, though tier 1 support usually don't have info... Keep us posted @Bat man
  5. How would this help? I'm pretty sure there was an objective reason for cancellation, such as officer on sick leave, tight schedule, background check pending, change in priorities. It's not like USCIS will change their mind and schedule for original timeslot because of phone call. And phone calls just waste USCIS time they could be spending on adjudicating cases. Anybody getting scheduled less than 6-12 months for the interview are super lucky.
  6. I'd put same surname as normal name for nickname. This is not a problem.
  7. Shouldn't be... Both are immediate relatives of US citizen. However, each case is individual. Plus USCIS is known to shift priorities. You can see there's many who filed in October and November of 2024 still waiting for their interviews. I'd be ready for 1 year of processing time. If it's faster - great.
  8. Yep, my estimate showed 3 weeks until decision on day I was taking oath.
  9. Sure thing, you can give it time. Please report if you somehow magically receive new SS card without going to SSA, it would be good news for others.
  10. I registered to vote online without leaving the house: https://vote.gov/ Looks like it's doable for Virginia on website. Got voter ID few weeks later.
  11. 221g has no set timeline. Some people wait days, some weeks, while others wait for months and even years.
  12. 1) Yes 2) Typically, Canadians get 6 months of authorized stay from date of entry. Unless they got stamped showing different number. You're husband is out of status.
  13. Congratulations! Checkbox on N-400 for SSA doesn't work anymore. I recently naturalized. I waited a while, and then had to do it in person at SSA. Here's experience:
  14. Just a note: it's local field office, not service center that determines speed of N-400 processing. N-400 is always decided in local field office, unlike say I-751 where it may be decided at service center without interview.
  15. Another minor comment, Europe uses CVs, but USA has resumes (CVs are mostly for jobs in academia), which explains the difference in format. AI is a good start for resume. But of course, make personal edits and taylor it to position. Gap in employment is natural, you should focus on skills and value you can provide to company. If you're a great candidate, gap would be not as important as you have valid reason for it.
  16. Congrats! She's the citizen after she takes oath
  17. To evade paying certain taxes. For example, E-2 visa holders don't have to pay some taxes LPRs and citizens pay. Non-resident aliens typically don't pay FICA. They also don't pay tax on foreign investments and any foreign income. So people may pretend on IRS paperwork they're nonresident aliens.
  18. On day of my oath estimate showed 3 weeks
  19. N-400 cannot be approved and will have to be withdrawn. How long would divorce take? If USCIS gives you 88 days to produce response to RFE, would divorce be final by then? IMHO a possibly better strategy if you needed more time would have been: 1) File fresh I-751 based on divorce waiver 2) Wait for receipt 3) Withdraw both N-400 and old I-751 But of course, if divorce is quick, then you can try amending I-751 to divorce waiver. More importantly, what does your lawyer say? Supposedly, they should have some strategy for handling your case. That's why you pay them? And they can help you with writing statement and explaining what you need for interview etc. That's their job? My lawyer told me which door to enter and button to press in elevator inside USCIS building prior to interview.
  20. List entire trip even if it started before statutory period and ended in statutory period. If it started and ended before statutory period, then you don't have to list it.
  21. Yes, it's allowed in California in general. Not allowed in other states. But ain't going to work with USCIS. They expect real address on ID or at least bills etc.
  22. Your ID must be under your physical address where you sleep at night! Don't even attempt to file until you have a proper ID. By listing PO box, you may be violating state laws depending on state.
