  1. Is spouse's income from US employer on L1? RFE can add delay.
  2. It's always good to have a status to fall back in case if I-485 is denied.
  3. I'd be ready for USCIS asking for joint sponsor. It would be nice to secure one in case if this comes up. Unless you have sufficient liquid assets (not primary residence), and even then YMMV on USCIS honoring them.
  4. Great to hear! I expected this. USCIS systems are known to be glitchy.
  5. The safest route is always using qualifying joint sponsor. Using assets is possible, but often requires convincing evidence organized in good way.
  6. Good points. I somehow assumed 2024, but if @Nena Lis filed Feb 2025, there's another 13 months to go.
  7. 13-17 months for any citizen. So you should be hearing something in the next 3 months.
  8. Please review N-400 instructions. I only provided copy of GC (front and back), copy of marriage certificate and tax return transcripts for the past 5 years. I was asked to show passports and GC ar the interview. In your case, you'd also need to provide divorce certificate.
  9. One way to approach this is not to do anything with it until somebody won't accept it in the future, which may or may not happen. The pros of this approach is potentially saving money. The cons are: NC will cost more to replace in the future. And you may need it quicker than you can replace it. Again, it depends on condition of current NC and risk tolerance.
  10. I-751 can be reason for hold up. Especially if you moved since filing I-751.
  11. Interesting! Wasn't the case at my field office. People kept shoes mostly, but removed belts. Either way I had no belt and I wore socks.
  12. There's no right to visitor's visas. Senator is typically useful for immigrant visas. Not sure they can add value in this case. Yes
  13. Depends when the kid was conceaved. If it was during relationship with ex, it would look somewhat bad.
  14. I think letter says everything clearly: - Don't mix form editions. Use the latest at the time of filing - Include all pages of form when filing - Include evidence for fee reduction (read I-912 instructions). At least most recent W-2 is needed
  15. ~ Thread was moved to IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures to better fit the question asked ~
  16. Maybe wait for few days and see whether they reappear. Frankly, this is my fear with online forms... If things dissapear, you cannot easily prove you ever uploaded them.
  17. Yes. But what about EAD / work permit? Is she getting one through OPT? The fees are more like $3000-4000 when you add everything. Good luck!
  18. Yes. I-485 receipt proves she can remain in the US. Advance parole allows leaving the US while AOS is pending. The general recommendation is only leave in case of emergency like death or illness of family member or close relative.
  19. Only if whoever needs to see it will complain about condition of the NC. And that may be: - USCIS when petitioning somebody - DOS when renewing passport - SSA when claiming retirement - Employer (some employers need proof other than US passport for security clearance)
  20. Agreed. Majority of immigrants experience financial issues and other difficulties adjusting their lives after coming to the US. But usually this only lasts a few years, after which life gets much better.
  21. Things are different to 2023 now in that regard, unfortunately.
  22. Depends on the officer. Some may be worked up because spouse is absent. Especially with 3 year rule case, and especially if I-751 is pending.
  23. I monitored my thread for December filing. I don't know if this trend applies to everybody. About 50% are going faster than expected, but another 50% go slower than the first bunch. All I know is estimate is misleading. It could take longer or faster for N-400.
