Thanks but was thinking. Right now her SSN says "Allowed to work with DHS authorization" and if I select "Yes" to both then will she get an updated SSN card with different language on it?

Is K-1 visa eligible for SSN?     K1 visa holders can get a social security number upon producing a valid, unexpired I-94. Apply two weeks after arrival in the U.S. so that the Social Security Administration (SSA) can verify your information in the SAVE-ASVI database.

U may at some point need to know more so USCIS has a booklet with rights and responsibilities

I just wanted to update the folks following this thread that the K-1 visas were approved and printed for my fiance and her kids and awaiting the final part of the lethargic process for delivering them to the delivery location. It gets very slow at the ** end and days are passing by with very little movement. I'm extending the hotel stay in Frankfurt one day at a time. Regarding the I-134 support documents they were fine with my old pay stubs, last year W2 and my bank statement.

Yes, she is and I'm hoping they go a bit easy on me as far as the employment goes. I'm going through job interviews and hopefully I land something soon so my unemployment wouldn't become a problem. Let's see.

Proactiv1 got a reaction from CelloLover in What's the best email address to contact US embassy in Frankfurt?
My NVC expedite for I129-F has been accepted by the US embassy in Frankfurt and I wanted to communicate with the consular officer to request to allow my fiance and her kids to get the required medical tests done in Warsaw, Poland. In connection to that I have emailed to IRCFrankfurt@state.gov (For Public Affairs) but there is no response whatsoever and it has been 3 days now. Does anyone know what would be the right email address to reach the visa section directly?

Secondly, do we need to fill the DS-160 form before the US embassy in Frankfurt contacts us to schedule the interview or have to wait for the direction from the US embassy in Frankfurt? Only people who have gone through the process answer as I want to keep the guess work out. Thanks!

That doc is the key. If you select the specific section for Ukrainians. You will get this.....

I sent an email to Frankfurtvisainquiries@state.gov that was not properly formatted. Waited 3 weeks. Only to find out that if its not properly formatted it will get auto deleted by their system   Send them an email with exactly this as the subject line   C22 - UKRAINE - FULL NAME.

(where FULL NAME is your FIRST and LAST name)   When formatted properly they answer pretty quickly. Mine was deleted because I didn't have the dashes. Yes it's that stupid....

Yes, my fiance is Ukrainian and now in Poland for the last 2.5 weeks. Thanks for all the information. I'll call the NVC this morning and see what they have to say and will update here. As SVC at CA approved and sent the petition on 3/18, I hope that the petition will reach the NVC by 3/25. I'll post my updates after my call with NVC today.
    Thanks for this information.

Hi Guys! I received the NOA2 approval just today. USCIS approved on 3/18 and I got it by 3/21 that's super fast for the first class mail to arrive from California to Atlanta in one business day. The notice says that my petition has been sent to the NVC and all further communication to be directed to NVC.

Even though the notice says that it is going to take anywhere between 2-4 weeks, how long does it typically take for the NVC to send me the notification that they have done their work and sent the petition to the US embassy? I'll be sending them an email tomorrow morning to know explaining the situation and request them to send the petition to the US embassy in Frankfurt, Germany and also ask them if it's ok to get the medical tests done ahead of time in Warsaw/Krakow, Poland while waiting for their notification.

@millefleur @Proactiv1 I just saw this about the 'visa interview letter' requirement. While it's on the State Department's webpage, I'm not sure it's required and in fact I do not believe it is. I looked at the 'welcome letter' regarding medical sent to K1 applicants, and it references only a DS-260 confirmation (presumably, DS-160 for us) and case number. It says nothing about the letter. I can ask some Belarusian filers who just went through the process, but I know nearly for a fact one of them did it in Minsk without the letter because their case just got to Warsaw a few days ago.

Point being, I'm pretty sure you'd be fine with just a print-out of NOA2, but we'll need to verify this. Again, Warsaw's already delayed over a month for medical and interview appointments are now in August, so none of this really matters; medical will always precede the interview the way speeds are going. But for the proactive among us, it would just be beneficial to get these things squared away ahead of time.

I hope it comes quickly. I do think she'll have some flexibility with which country she wants to do the medical in. Let us know what the say, the situation with Ukrainian applicants going through Germany is still really new and we haven't seen many updates here on VJ yet about how things actually work on the ground.

Thanks and as it says on that links you provided that we need to have the visa interview letter on hand to get the medical tests done so I should wait for the NOA2.

There's no risk of double paying: either they'll accept it in Warsaw and forward it to Frankfurt or they simply just will tell you to get it done in Germany. These are special clinics that specifically work with US embassies so they know how these things work. The only reason you'd have to pay twice for the medical is if the medical expires before she gets her interview, as she'd be required to do it again.

The medical is valid for 6 months. The key thing is that will also be expiration date printed on her visa (6 months from the medical.) You can totally have her go do all the medicals right now if you think she'll be able to enter the US in >6 months from now.

I'm not sure about this one. When Moscow's embassy got moved to Warsaw, there is an open option to do the medical in either Warsaw or Moscow, the applicants were given a choice. It's not confirmed yet for Ukrainian applicants but it seems logical they would also be given a choice. If it's easier to do it in Poland vs Germany, I don't see why they couldn't.

Yeah, the plan is go to Germany for the interview and as soon as they get the visa they will take the flight to the US from Germany.

There are a few unknowns regarding medical test:

    1) Whether I could get the medical done in Poland or in Germany and if they don't accept the one done in Poland in Germany embassy for any odd reason then she and kids have to go through it twice and I have to pay for it twice.
    2) Even if I want to get the medical done early without getting the NOA2 approval will it be valid?
    3) I understood that NVC will direct which medical center to go to and what tests need to be done as I don't know which medical center she needs to go to.

Yes, I have put in the expedite request thrice and finally they accepted it and asked me for more documentation and after submitting them they approved my expedite request saying that "cases like these typically take 45 days to come to a decision/NOA2". It will be 45 days by April 15th so fingers crossed and waiting for the NOA2.

Typically, how long does it take for the NVC to process and send it to the US embassy of our choice and provide me with further instructions?

I'm not sure about the NVC part but there are some other threads here where people have discussed it. Tagging @texastincup because it seems like they've completely all steps recently and might be able to answer.

About the police certificate question, there's another thread here discussing that. Seems like there might be a possibility to have it waived but unclear:

I have sent the K-1 visa petition to Texas and after two weeks I received the receipt notice from California Service Center. I'm in Atlanta, GA so just confused as to why they sent to the California center. Any ideas? If they take beyond 6-8 months is there anything a lawyer could do to move it faster and make the USCIS take action on our petition?
