Happy July to my fellow October filers! Hope everyone is hanging in there. Just wanted to share an emotional moment I had a few days ago.
Logged on to USCIS to check my case status and it showed “Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office.” After about two minutes of elation I read further and saw it was delivered on February 17th.
Now, I’m panicking because I’ve been working nonstop the last few months and my husband didn’t tell me I got any mail from USCIS. And I can’t call him to ask (yell) him what’s going on cause he’s at work.
5 minutes after worrying about how I’m going to track this down with the Post Office, I logged on to my Lawfully app, only to find out I’m still stuck at “Fingerprints Was Taken.
After another 5 minutes of checking, it turns out I entered my Receipt Number correctly, EXCEPT for the LAST NUMBER!!!!!! SMH. I fell back to earth damn quick after that realization.
Guess I know what it will feel like when I get my approval lol. Happy 9 months everyone! We’ll get through this.
On a positive note though, Congrats to that filer who got approved in February!

You just love confrontation don't you?
I've noticed that most of your posts are always written as if what you say is the way it is, no questions asked, period.
If anyone ventures to have even a slightly different approach or angle you never seem to want to just let it go.
We are talking about a process that has a multitude of outcomes that can be difficult to control. Some situations/questions have solutions/answers that are clear cut and defined but in many situations they aren't as clear cut. The best we can do is offer "advice" or "recommend" understanding that what we say isn't always going to be the case as uncertainty is inevitable.
Bottom line is that risk is there when traveling outside of the country. So it's up to each person on whether or not they want to leave the country knowing that the possibility of complications when returning is a possibility.

Wouldn't it be great if they started to issue 10 year unconditional status cards instead of this silly 2 year temporary. I certainly hope that they don't come back in two years asking for more information. Just as a precaution, you should find out what the requirements are for that two year review and be prepared.
We have another year, and know that one condition is to have letters from two different sources stating that they have known both of us, as husband and wife, etc. I'm going to have to get that finalized, but for now we are celebrating. My wife's son just passed his green card interview.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I was checking regularly, but the problem seemed to have stopped. I just restored it to the December 4, 4:29 AM. It's the most recent one that seems to have all the info intact. The problem is that anything added after that will be gone. VisaJourney has its own spreadsheet with all this info, but it's a little harder to navigate. I'm wondering if we should just rely on that?

Greencard-22 reacted to Mike E in Forgot to file my I-175 Form
I doubt you be denied on basis you were late. The reason is that USCIS and/or the immigration judge understand that you can always file a new I-485 package and this one will get you a 10 year green card.
Focus more on getting the application filed and less on “what if it rains during the camping trip” scenarios.

Hi!
Thanks for giving us this overview of how you prepared your application and what you included. However, I have a question - do our US citizen spouses really need to include a copy of their passport? I thought only a copy of the green card (back and forth) was sufficient for the Permanent Resident.
Best,

Thanks, looks good. Appreciate the work you do on this. I hope if it's sabotage the individual(s) in question can get a life. If someone is messing it up by accident I hope the individual(s) in question can take a good class in MS Excel.

1. We didn’t number or write our names and A # on our attachments. On our cover letter, we listed everything that was sent and exactly how it was separated. We separated it with binder clips and paper clips. Did the same thing during AOS and it was fine.
2. Everyone sends their application to the same Phoenix address. It just differs based on your shipping method. USPS vs UPS and FedEx. When it gets there, they then send it to the office for your area.
3. We didn’t use N/A. We just left what didn’t apply to us blank. I know some people do and others don’t. Same thing during our AOS process. We left them blank. Mostly though, I was very nervous to put it in the wrong place. In another I-751 website forum, someone got their application rejected because they put N/A for middle name. And the computer thought the name was John N/A Doe. If you’re putting N/A, I think for names especially, you should leave it blank.
4. A lot of people did use credit cards for their payment. As to some offices not accepting card payments, we were worried about that same thing. We didn’t know what our office would be and if they were accepting credit card payments. I think you’ll be fine with it. We did send a personal check from our joint account though.
5. As to the color pen, we used a black ink pen. Not sure about blue ink. But its pretty simple to use a black ink pen, if you’re worried about using a blue.
Hope that helps. Good luck on your application!

If they did that, in my opinion it would be a discriminatory practice because some of us can’t have kids…. 🤷🏽♀️

Greencard-22 reacted to Mr Genuis in I-751 October 2021 Filers
Having kids alone is not enough evidence to support your claim for bona-fide marriage. How ever it is one of the solid evidence you can include. Technically, USCIS want to see your marital Journey since you had your two years green card. So kids are a result of that marital union. The reason a two year green card is given is because you had no long history of togetherness at the time of issue, the two years green card is a period of time the uscis is given you guys to record or document your marital journey. That is why they uscis is request you to update them with you marriage two years later. Basically the one to see your story. So your documents should have a life span of 2 years together. Normal couples will have joint account, lease or house tittle together, it possible to have kids within two years, travels, pictures ,friends who can provide affidavit declaring they know you guys and see your love life, etc..

Greencard-22 reacted to mjoyceb in I-751 October 2021 Filers
Thirding this. We didn't send evidence from when we first met, but from the start of our marriage up to present. For reference, we submitted:
Jointly signed rental agreement and renewal Joint renter's insurance Joint bank account statements with auto loan information Bill of sale for the car we bought together Joint income tax returns Joint health and dental insurance coverage through my spouse's employer Vaccination cards Family mobile phone account plan statements Some more letters of support from new friends Evidence of shared life events Affidavit of name change signed by relatives
That said, now I'm wondering if I should have since our receipt for the I-751 is in a different location (SRC) from the one for the I-485 (MSC). 🤔
I'm still watching our account to see when they've taken the money out, since I don't actually have the I-797 yet.

All our photos are on our phone and computers, so we sent them to Walgreens and had them printed same day. Wrote description on the back of them - Who, where and when.

I was debating doing it that way but in the end we just did it the way we did for I-485 and sent regular pictures. Also gave the interviewing officer regular pics as well. It seemed fine for us. Our AOS took a little over 5 months. Nothing we can do now but if they lose it and need more 🤷🏽♀️ we’ll go from there.

don’t know when they usually ask for RFEs. You shouldn’t stress about it though. If you want, in the meantime you can definitely put aside additional statements or evidence that you didn’t include already, in case that they do want additional info. But until that time comes, (which it may or may not) don’t worry about it.
You should include you info on the spreadsheet below. Also a great to see everyone who filed before and what their timeframe looks like.
