  1. Not sure if I can ask this here, but this question is for my fellow January filers who already applied for their passports. Did y’all get your supporting documents back yet? I did my Oath in August and had my appt for passport 2 weeks after. Received passport two weeks ago and was wondering how long it’d take for my supporting documents. It’s saying up to 8 weeks online but just wanted to know if anyone who applied received it back earlier than that. Thanks.
  2. My interview was on a Friday, and the IO said he couldn’t make a decision on my case as of yet because he still had to go over my I-751 (which he had on his desk). He said it’d take maybe 2 weeks or so for a decision. I logged into my USCIS account on Saturday night (the next day) and saw that my case was approved, and Oath had already been scheduled for 2 weeks away. A lot of others who also interviewed on the same day I did, also had their oath at the same time.
  3. Started this thread 2 years ago in Oct when I filed my I-751. Didn’t receive my permanent GC until after I filed my N-400 and passed the interview. Had my Oath ceremony yesterday and I’m officially done with the process. So very thankful for everyone and their advice. Goodluck to everyone still on this journey!
  4. Had my Oath yesterday in Brooklyn. Two weeks after my interview. It’s been a journey. Goodluck to everyone!
  5. Finally finished!!! Had my Oath Ceremony yesterday. Applied under 3yr rule. Thanks to everyone from the I-751 forum to the N-400 forum. It was relieving at times to read everyone’s experiences and advice. It helped me to stay calm albeit impatient at times lol. Thanks everyone.
  6. That is wonderful news! Congrats!! Were you also allowed in the interview with him? And if yes, did they ask you anything or just him?
  7. He and my mom laughed at this. They have been getting similar reactions from ppl who don’t know the full situation.
  8. No he hasn’t. Wasn’t sure the next steps and how to proceed. He hasn’t gotten his interview yet at the embassy. He’s in Trinidad. Should he email the US consulate in Trinidad now? The DNA testing is part of the surrogacy process. So he has to do it now. Yes, the timing is amazing!
  9. Thanks everyone for your responses. I did look at the link last night and was a little confused lol. Appreciate all the insight everyone is giving. To clarify: Why I said he the sole parent - My brother had his baby through a surrogate. Part of the process is getting a DNA test to verify that he is the father and he is provided with the birth certificate. The “mother” was an egg donor.
  10. He’s still unmarried and he’s the sole parent. Thank you. Will check it out.
  11. Not sure if I’m posting in the right forum. I apologize if I’m not. Just thought I’d post here for a little guidance before considering paying for an immigration lawyer. My mom is a GC holder and she had applied for my brothers GC (unmarried sons over 21). Their case became current 2 years ago and we sent in all the supporting docs, form and AOS to NVC last year. We’re now just waiting for their interview at the embassy. My question is, one of my brothers just had a baby girl, two weeks ago. Can we add her on to the petition with him or is it too late? Does anyone know what steps should be taken? Would appreciate any feedback. I’m the one that has been doing all the paperwork for my mom (the petitioner) and my brothers (applicants), that’s why I’m asking. Thanks
  12. That’s great! Can I ask, what your processing time was online right before you got your interview date? Filed late Jan 2023 Bio mid Feb After bio, it gave a timeline of 8 months. A month in, it changed to 7 months but the 2 month mark just came and went and it’s still saying 7 months. Just wondering if your timeline was changing and what it was, right before you got the interview. Hope I’m making sense.
  13. We do this a lot of the times. We use our joint account to pay household bills, credit cards, etc. We hardly deposit our checks/cash and usually just transfer from personal accounts. Did she make a big deal about it? Do you think we should take a personal bank statement with us? Also, congrats on being finished. We filed I-751 a month apart and I’m so happy it’s over for you guys! We filed our N-400 in Jan 2023 instead of in September 2022, which was our 90 days period. Hoping to see progress soon. Congrats again
  14. Hey everyone, Might be traveling to Italy soon and was wondering if anyone had any issues with airlines coming back to NY. Applied for N-400 but still have pending I-751 with new 48 months extension. The two options I’m considering are Delta or American Airlines. Travelled last year and had no issues with JetBlue but that’s not one of the options I’m finding. If anyone has travelled with those two airlines from Europe without any problems, would appreciate your feedback. Thanks
  15. Although I got a bio appt in two weeks for my N-400, I just received a letter saying my I-751 bio is being reused. I had already gotten this letter in 2021 when I originally filed my ROC. I’m assuming I got another letter about bio being reused for I-751 because they transferred the case. Idk
  16. I first saw it on the Lawfully app that I use to track my I-751. My case status on USCIS website didn’t change until a day later though.
  17. Hey everyone, We have a pending I-751 filed Oct 2021. We finally bit the bullet and filed our N-400 last week. We received our Receipt Notice this week and got out biometrics appt letter in the mail today. Bio appt is in two weeks. Also saw our I-751 was transferred to new office that now has jurisdiction on Wednesday. Hoping both gets adjudicated this year.
  18. That’s great! Hope it goes well and you get an approval right away.
  19. It was issued in 2018. He was Naturalized as a kid. Should I provide his naturalization certificate as well?
  20. Hey everyone, back again with another question. I’m gathering my documents for my N-400 based on the 3 years. What I have so far: Letter explaining that we have a pending I751 Green card Extension letter Husband’s Passport Marriage Certificate ID’s for both of us 3 Years Tax Transcript Insurance cards 12 joint Bank stmts (1 stmt for every 3 mths) Rental Insurance (3 years) Now I have a question about our lease or lack thereof. Our place is month to month and not a lease agreement. It has been this way since we moved in. Can I provide copies of the cancelled checks for our rent payments for the past 3 years or maybe 1 stmt for every three months? Our landlord had given us a notarized letter to use before. Don’t want to keep asking him for a new one if I don’t have too. Can I use to same letter I did for the I-751 or can I do without one and just use the checks? He usually makes it so difficult to get one so i would really like to avoid asking him We travelled last year. Do I need to submit a copy of my passport as well or just his which proves his citizenship? Last, did anyone include any credit card stmts? Thanks!!
  21. Thank you everyone for your comments. Will go ahead and submit this week.
