Our attorney sent me a form requesting we write a letter only 4-5 paragraphs and explaining how we met and how our relationship evolve and to marriage .

    here is my question

we went to a different city in South Africa  to get Married. The family and friends were not able to attend . It was just the pastor and his two witness

    however

Few days later we did a Union gathering at my husband aunt place . Where family and friends came .

on this letter should we explain why we went to another city to get married ? Or just write the letter without it ?

When I filed mine, the cover of my Evidence of Relationship packet (pics, plane ticket, etc) is a letter...
    Dear Immigration Officer,
This is to request your good office to grant petition for my husband, ___.  We recently got married last...and told them a summary of my story... followed by index list of what to expect in following pages.

    Example:

Page 1 - this Cover letter

Page 2-x - Pictures of our wedding on __ at __

Page x-x - Pictures of Wedding Celebration on __ at __

page x -x - boarding passes, tickets, trips,

    etc, etc,,

All in all i got 49 pages.

  3. Here is info you  are looking for... https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/nonresident-spouse

File married jointly, attach form W-7 to your Federal Tax Return.  You can file by mail only, I believe.  You have to elect to file jointly.  Which means, all world income will need to be filed.  If spouse did not earn money in 2021, great!  Big tax break for you.

I searched this information last year as am filing married jointly.  But I have not started on my taxes.  Probably early March.. So not much I can refer yet than the link.

So it’s either that or total income

I notice all my transcripts have my name incomplete just few letter of first and last name

When you place in your request, you are asked for the purpose and IRS recommends you what document to download.

That's correct.  IRS are masking them or not showing complete names/address for security purposes.  (Not like  10 or 15+ years ago where mailed transcripts I received then had option to not mask/hide SS#, etc.)
Anyway, no problem on my submission with my I-130.

I-130 was approved on 1/12, and then the I-129F was denied the next day as expected.

I saw the PDF for the approval letter saying they are forwarding my application for the NVC, where they do the consular processing stuff. But there's no new tracking number so how do I track this next step? Will I received something else soon with more information?

Great news!  Congratulations!  Just wait few days.  We received email 5 days after approval.  Email is coming from National_Visa_Center@state.gov sent to petitioner and beneficiary's email.  It will contain your NVC Case Number and Invoice ID number so you can login to CEAC.  https://ceac.state.gov/IV

  6. Seems our story is similar, but just husband is the beneficiary for me.  Here are the evidence I provided.  1.) Evidence of Relationship - 49 pages - consist of 14months of video call logs, FB posts, receipts of cargo shipments, flowers, food deliveries, greeting cards (just envelopes showing stamps) we send each other, then receipts of my travel and boarding passes.  Then our Wedding Day, and after wedding day photos with family (both sides) and friends we visited (dated and named people in pictures). - 5 separate PDFs.   I also added him as my spouse for my health insurance at work, so I provided the the verification pf coverage.  And lastly, when I filed the I-130, I used my married name.

Help. I asked Emma and she just gives me stock answers. I checked the case status online and it tells me to check the receipt. When I check the receipt (PDF online), it tells me Kansas. How do I find out which service it went to?

In Emma >> Live Chat >> select Case Status >> select Connect to Live Chat ... continue answering automated questions (Receipt Number, etc).  Then, ask your question.   Eventually a person answers.. (at least on mine).

  8. When you Divorced, did you state that you are changing back your name?  That was asked of here in Texas.  Check the process where you had your divorce.  Usually there is an official document so you can change back your name.

    CHANGE OF NAME IN TEXAS

In a divorce, the name change should be incorporated in the Final Decree of Divorce. In almost all other circumstances, a request for change of name must be made in a petition filed with the court and the court must sign an order granting the person a new name.

    Hi folks,

I (27M) am a Canadian citizen with a BFA from an American institution. I have intentions to return to the States to continue my education in the coming months, and also marry my partner (25M American citizen). Because of the pandemic, plans have been delayed and altered, and I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way to do things. My program allows me to begin the 1st of every month, which allows for some flexibility here. My partner and I haven't decided on where we want to get married yet (either Canada or US), but I'm wondering if it's possible to marry and begin the CR1 process while on an F1 visa. I understand the importance of intention while entering the US, so I get that this may be tricky. I plan to enter the US as a student, but my partner will provide housing for me under F1 requirements, so it would be ideal to get married while we're living together again in the same city. Can I enter as an International Student, get married, and file for an adjustment of status while completing my studies?

    TIA!

Mentioning that you are to enter and get married - you have exposed your intention.  If you are in here in US and suddenly thought of staying.. you would google and found this >> https://usvisagroup.com/ways-international-student-extend-stay/

One more question sir. I have to go back to Pakistan do I have covid test within 24 hours to travel back to Pak?  If yes how I can get a covid test report within 24 hours?

    Here is what I found googling it:  https://covid.gov.pk/travel-guidelines  >>> https://storage.covid.gov.pk/uploads/policies/Revised Inbound Policy.pdf
You just have to inquire within your area where you can get a PCR test.    Hope this helps!

Hey guys I'm in states on B2 visa while my IR1 case is waiting for schedule of interview in Embassy. I have return flight in start of March while due to dramatically rise in COVID cases in recent months now I'm concerned about what if lockdown takes places again (hope not) will I be able to extent my B2 stay? If I do so will it effect on my IR1 visa case?

Tourist Visa - you can apply for extension..  But when denied and you are here beyond your initial I-94 max stay, you will have to leave right away.  On lockdowns, going back to home country usually is allowed.  Except for extreme country lockdown- which they also have special flights for their citizens.

I filed my wife I-130 petition yesterday online. I got a receipt document from USCIS online today but it doesn't have which service center has it.

If you have the PDF, it is in the lower left.  But that is just the receiving Center.  It maybe reassigned in the next days.  You can check with Emma after a week to find where it is truly is.  For others, it changed longer a week.

Anecdotally, I came across hunny&me's timeline and noticed their fast approval (50 days). I saw that they filed an I-129F approximately two weeks after filing their I-130, so I decided to do the exact same thing. I waited two weeks after submitting my I-130 and then submitted my I-129F. I received an even faster approval (44 days). But then you also have timelines such as top_secret's who did not file a K3 but still received approval in 48 days. So speaking as someone who filed a K3 and received fast approval, even I find it hard to reach any conclusions.

@Corgent, glad it went fast for you too.  Just my analogy was that when K3 was received and reviewed - those without questions for I-130 of any kind, may have been luck with approval.  I was not expecting mine to be fast especially of few name changes.  But instead of just attaching documents, I noted the name changes on the Cover Letter of my K3, and submitted docs in tabs.   Anyway, at NVC stage now, they seem to have 3 months backlog.  Took us a while to submit docs as NBI Clearance appointment was not until December 1.

@SteveInBostonI130, I just read the entire topic, you mentioned you are looking for timelines.  Myself and @Corgent are examples.   It maybe our luck.  I was following other timelines before I got married last year and seen same to 2 people.   When I filed, Vermont was 9.5 -13 months.  Our plan last year was to meet-up to satisfy 2-year requirement, so I have the I-129F K1 ready.  But just a month before my travel, I learned about Utah wedding.  So my trip, became a wedding trip and filed I-130 online.  When I got back to US, I have my K1 packet ready, so I adjusted it and mailed it as K3.  Which ever gets my husband here faster, I'll take it!
