You don’t need to create a USCIS account.
You can pay the fee online without a USCIS account..
You can check your status using the receipt numbers on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do without a USCIS account.
You can change your address at the POE on entry and online via AR11 (the form you are supposed to use) https://www.uscis.gov/ar-11 without a USCIS account.

There is no "US driver's License". It depends on the state where you intend to live.  Some states require new residents from foreign country to take the tests.  Some states have agreements with specific countries which allow a direct trade-in for a state driver's license.  I suggest you look at the DMV site for the state in which you intend to live.

Depends on your state. Google DMV and your state. Some states you’ll have to do a drivers ed course, most you’ll have to do a new driver test (written and/or behind the wheel), I believe there are a couple of states where you can just exchange your license. State requirements also differ on how long you have before you need to get a state license as a resident.

    Hi Susie,

No,  I have not seen any posts of issues from those with immigration visas, but they are also part of the original exemption list - spouses or USC/LPR, parents of USC/LPR, children of USC/LPR.  There have not been many posts in general from married siblings of USC, which were one of the categories not exempt originally.  And I have not seen one travel related post from that classification, whether successful or not.

A fiancé visa is not an immigrant visa, though I hear you that they are second on the list of exceptions after immigrant visas. Can you point to any cases of people with a visa saying “immigrant visa” who have been refused? I haven’t heard of any since the change came in and there are a couple of forums I watch where people have been constantly entering the US on various immigrant visas from a myriad countries including banned ones (lots of IR5s from India). Not seen a single one report an issue.

The Covid travel ban is NOT relevant to anyone with an immigrant visa anyway. Everyone needs a Covid test done within 3 days of flying to the US.

I do not believe Montenegro is part of the EU travel ban.  You can travel to the US as long as your connecting flight does not go through any of the banned countries.

There was an announcement that in November the US will allow fully vaccinated travellers from the 26 shengen area countries and others that are on the travel ban.  The countries that were not on the travel ban are not affected (that is, there is no vaccine requirement).  For now, at least.

You will need a negative result from a PCR covid test 72 hours prior to your arrival in the US.

Yes, you can work as soon as your immigrant visa is endorsed.

You will need to get your Social Security Number in order for your employer to report your pay to the IRS.

Once a person enters the US with an immigrant visa and CBP endorses that visa, it becomes a temporary green card that is good for 1 year from the date of entry.  The visa expiration date is for when to use it - and has nothing to do with the 1 year validity as a green card.

So a person who enters with an immigrant visa on 10/01/2021 will get an endorsement and the visa becomes a 1 year green card expiring 10/1/2022.  The visa expiration date will not matter.

If you have an immigrant visa the chances of you being refused entry are almost zero, the only case I heard about for that is someone who had a criminal record that somehow hadn’t been “cleared” for the entry packet (and he was allowed in later after getting some documentation from the consulate). But if you’re that worried about being allowed in, pay after you enter 🤷‍♀️ As long as it’s pretty soon after you enter it shouldn’t delay your card processing.

People with immigration visas do not get deny entry for not speaking English.

If it makes you feel better to pay the fees after they enter the US, then do that.  Know that paying after they enter means delaying getting their plastic green cards.  Meanwhile, their immigration visas upon entry and stamping will serve as temporary 1 year green cards.
