How To Commit Democratic Party Suicide
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Interesting, from a leftist libertarian (?). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your 2028 Democratic Presidential Contenders! [...] Democrats are quickly forgetting that we still live in a populist age and that there is a working-class sized hole in their coalition. It's much more fun and emotionally satisfying to think and talk about how much you hate Donald Trump and everything he stands for. There's certainly a lot to be upset about but that does not help you win elections—not just the presidency but all those Senate races in red-leaning working-class states where Democrats have been getting walloped and where, if they don't improve, they will be a Senate minority indefinitely. With that in mind, let's take a look at possible Democratic presidential contenders for 2028 and how they are approaching this challenge. I'll sort them into five general categories; I hesitate to call them "lanes" at this early date when differentiation is still so fuzzy. The existing standards sound horrible. This move is overdue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 'No Participation Trophies': Trump Revamps Performance Reviews for Top Bureaucrats [...] standards will soon tighten. It is called "forced distribution." The new OPM rule limits the number of bureaucrats who can earn top ratings, a metric tied to promotions and end-of-the-year bonuses. It also eliminates Biden-era requirements that evaluated executives based on their promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Sickness of Our Universities—and the Cure
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
Wella, wella... but will they do anything about it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Harvard finally admits in its Oct. 7 report that woke politics have wrecked the school Harvard University has admitted the ugly truth: The left's long march through its faculty and administration has borne poisonous fruit in the form of blazing Jew-hatred and the overall ruin of its campus climate and curricula. Don't take our word for it: Just read the elite Ivy's own report on the Tentifada that sprang up in support of Hamas after Oct. 7. The committee tasked with looking into this antisemitic conflagration detailed how over decades what began as a tense, even rancorous zone of disagreement on campus — specifically, over Israel's efforts to defend itself from terrorist aggression and the national aims of various Palestinian political factions — changed into an "attempt by student activists to drive Israeli students (and Jewish students who feel connected to Israel) out of student life." Can't Find K1 Appt at Sierra Leone Consulate
TBoneTX replied to favobee's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Welcome to the forum! Your thread is moved to the Embassy/Consulate forum, to be among similar threads. Scheduling an interview is typically a giant challenge, regardless of where in the world. Because of your ongoing situation, see this link. I suggest that you e-mail the consulate (put the beneficiary's "A" number in the Subject line) to learn what's going on and gain some insights. Let us know what they say. Wishing you the best of luck. https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Sierra Leone&cty=Freetown -
I think so. Others can confirm and elaborate. Mrs.-T-B.-to-be needed 2 shots here -- tetanus and something else. We went to our County Health Clinic and paid something like $20 total. She had her list of vaccinations from her clinic in Ecu, and the County lady (who was familiar with immigration requirements) added the new ones to the bottom of it and applied the clinic's stamp, resulting in a neat one-page vaccination record.

VAWA, Part 27
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Wednesday already? Time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: =========================================== GRANDDAD AND GRANDSON A granddad and his grandson were talking on the phone. Granddad said, "Hey, Grandson -- your grandmother and I ate at a nice restaurant last night. Thought you might want to take your girlfriend there." Grandson said, "Sure, Granddad. What's the name of it?" Granddad paused, struggling with the name. Grandson said, "Take your time, Granddad; it will come." Granddad said, "Help me out here. What's the name of that flower with the thorns on the stem... usually it's red?" Grandson said, "A rose, Granddad -- it's a rose." Granddad said thanks and turned his head around to the side. "Hey, Rose! What's the name of that restaurant where we ate last night?" -
Europe Promises To Get The Electricity Back Up ASAP So Everyone Can Hear The Muslim Calls To Prayer LISBON — Following massive power grid failures that plunged multiple countries into blackouts, Europe promised its citizens it would get electricity back up as soon as possible so everyone would be able to hear the Muslim call to prayer over the loudspeakers. Officials said they were aware that essential staples of European life, like pausing to pray in the direction of Mecca and asking Allah to grant them bloody victories against the infidels, had been disrupted by the blackouts, but assured everyone the normalcy of assaults and stabbings could resume very soon. "Our way of fundamental Islamic life will continue without issue," said Portugal President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. Democrats Hold Candlelight Vigil In Front Of Illegal Immigrant Mugshots WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressional leaders held a solemn ceremony in the nation's capital today, as Democratic senators arrived at the White House to hold a candlelight vigil in front of migrant gang mug shots. Legislators gathered on the White House lawn to memorialize apprehended and deported criminals in a touching display of love and admiration for the achievements and cultural enrichment they brought to the crimes they perpetrated in the U.S. "The country simply won't be the same without them," said Senator Elizabeth Warren while holding a candle next to an MS-13 gang member's mugshot.
