Your stamp will not expire until one year from the date of entry. You’re likely looking at the date on the visa (which is a more like an “enter the country by” date). Look at the date on the actual stamp that customs put on your passport when you entered. No worries, no rush.

This isn't really an immigration issue, but nonetheless, I will give Unfortunately your husband is being extremely toxic and abusive. I would also strongly recommend documenting his abuse somehow (record him, write down dates/times/events of his abuse, etc) and to seek a lawyer if possible. Additionally, at minimum, make and keep photocopies of all your immigration-related paperwork. If you can keep the originals somewhere safe, that's even better. I hate to say this, but it sounds like your marriage is headed down a bad road and you need to start protecting yourself and your kids however way you can. Keep working and hold onto your job because you need to have your own money coming in. Open a separate bank account if you have to. Google "domestic violence/abuse support centers" for your local area and seek out their resources. They will recommend counselors, lawyers, etc.

Try not to listen negative comments if you can. Sponsor CAN be unemployed. He needs to show enough assets. If you go to state department it’s written there. It’s good to have a joint sponsor but you as long as you meet their requirements you’re good. Trust me I know for sure.:-) All the best!

Word of Warning - I have talked to the site and they are only showing updates that are via the Consulate's and Foreign countries website.   Example: the announcement of Jamaica processing immigrant visas was placed on the consulate's facebook site and not updated on the consulate's website and is not reflected on this link.

Romania is back in business - seems like quite a few embassies are taking the "mission critical" advice from DOS and moving forward with the IR1/CR1 and IR2/CR2 interviews.  Excellent news.

I just wish the embassies would announce anything even if it is no or that they are looking into opening and what services. 
 
I think also of us could agree that the lack of information is a real pain in the butt... Months have gone by and still we wait hopeful of any words of hope. Even this news does not really mean anything if the embassy is closed or locked down by the local government. I had not seen my husband in almost 18months and was supposed to get back out there in March - It all got cancelled. I just want to go home. 
 
I am not a religious person but I must admit to quietly praying for news.

Thats what drives me crazy. The government and the states gave estimates on how long they would be in lock down and then when they would reopen the economy in states and the whole country but the State department and Embassies can't give anyone ANY updates on reopenings and estimates on routine visa interviews. Its so frustrating and upsetting. 

I did not intend this to be a political post. Also, if what I learned in 7th grade history class is still correct, the State Department is apart of the Executive Branch. The President of the United States is the head of the Executive Branch and appoints the Secretary of State who is in charge of carrying out and implementing the President's foreign policy. 

What do you mean you tried to get an "emergency visa stamping" I never heard of such a thing. What countries have you seen CR1 visas being issued at this time? It sounds more like you got denied because "routine consular operations are currently suspended because of the COVID- 19 crisis. Therefore, we are unable to process the case at this time. "

I saw video message on Instagram today from USA consulate. They don’t know yet when all visa services are going to reopen again unfortunately. I really hope it will change soon. All the best!
