My husband and I keep reminding ourselves that although waiting SUCKS, we are appreciative that we both have our jobs during the pandemic. There is no saying if he got to move here in the summer as hoped for, he would get his docs in order, his SSN sent, and find a job due to the delays in SSN and employment unknowns due to the pandemic. We know everything happens for a reason and perhaps the delay is in our favor right now. We are so blessed in many other ways.

anyways, i still am dying for an interview date lol.

That is just my slice of positivity. Happy Friday everyone!

That's such a great way to look at it! I always kept telling myself that no matter how long it took eventually we WOULD be on the other side of it and looking back at that crazy time. Hopefully it happens soon, but in the meantime it definitely helps to appreciate those silver linings! ❤️

My husband's residency visa is expiring in UAE, and his company typically asks for his passport 6-8 weeks earlier for processing in which they hold on to his passport. With COVID-19, they said it may be longer.
So on visa expiry grounds , I requested an expedite so that he may get an interview schedule before hand and he can let his office know. We were DQ'd 23 May.

However, Abu Dhabi embassy reply is:

Great news today for us! Although the Dublin Embassy shut down again last week and are no longer conducting interviews, because we had ours right before, they are still doing administrative processing. Today our status changed to ISSUED! Hopefully we'll have the Visa in hand in a couple days! 🎉

Sad news from Dublin today- visa services are suspended and interviews are canceled. I'll take the interview date off my timeline and it should be removed from the spreadsheet as well- don't want to give anyone false hope.

Hello everyone, my husband got his interview date today for November 2nd. Our category is CR1 and PD August 2019. Visajourney has been the most helpful source for us in this journey so I wanted to share the news here. Thank you all and please keep us in your prayers that his interview goes well. 😊

I know I posted earlier but we have since decided to go ahead with the interview on November 2 and move to US in March now.  It kind of sucks because our two year anniversary is April 28 but with a November 2 date and the medical needing to be issued before that I don't see how we can make the two year anniversary date so we will be CR1 and will have to adjust status.  We also won't finish the school year and go in June like I planned.  But, we are all ready to go so we will go early, let her daughter go to the school in my town for the last two months (not worrying about grades - just practice her English) and then sell my house and buy another and move to Lincoln over the summer for the new school year.  We may have her do Grade 9 over since this year will kind of be a bust.  I'll let the Lincoln school decide that.  There are a lot of Vietnamese in Lincoln and they have a good ESL program for Vietnamese there.

My husband had his interview at the Dublin Embassy this morning and OUR VISA WAS APPROVED!!! 🎉

He said he was there for about an hour total, but most of it was waiting around -- the actual interview took less than 10 minutes. Because it was such an important interview he had been nervous all week but he said it was very friendly and actually a bit underwhelming with how easy it went.

He said he was asked the following questions, most of which were threaded through the very pleasant conversation they had:
Where is your wife currently? How long has she lived there? What does she do for a living? When/how did you meet? When do you plan to go to the US? He brought everything that was requested in the email the Embassy sent when they confirmed the appointment. We also brought copies of everything, as well as proof of our relationship which included letters and photos. They didn't ask to see any of it. We were given a little over 3 weeks notice when the interview was scheduled and we were able to have the medical exam performed a week after receiving the interview date. The medical results were sent electronically directly to the Embassy and they were already received by our interview date, which was 2 weeks later.

So we're very excited going into the weekend! Now we just have to wait for the courier service to send him his passport with the Visa inside so he can hop on a plane!!
