Naz2020 reacted to RishDan in DECEMBER 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
Hello everyone, finally some good news. I got my K-1 Visa interview scheduled for the April 19.
Does anyone know once the K-1 visa is issued what is the validity?
is it three or six months time before you could travel to the USA
Thanks

I had an interview on March 15. There is no visa yet. I've got form g 221. The USCIS did not send ( or lost ) my fiance's divorce decree to the embassy. He has to apply and get another original one. Also, they wanted another document which was not in the requirements list. But the good news is: the case officer told me once I send them back , my visa will be issued in 5 working days.

Naz2020 reacted to HKS in US Embassy Ankara -Appointment
Turkish Embassy doesnt like to communicate. They scheduled my spouse’s interview appointment, but I think it was because we got expedited case. I do know they have been doing very little interviews. I remember someone a while back was in same situation as u and had to obsessively check the website and book the first one that popped up as available. I do know they make their schedule for the next month during the last week of the previous month. So maybe next week you will see something come available.
Good luck.

Thanks!
YES definitely a slow process. It has been 8 days since we got the embassy letter, but there are no available slots for the interview. It is really frustrating 😫

We got an e-mail from the Ankara embassy, but there are no available appointments there. Are there any special time to check the website?

I'm in a same situation as you guys. Our case has been at the NVC since December 23rd. I don't know why for some people it takes only a few weeks and for others it takes months. I had a thought that perhaps the NVC is doing our background checks and maybe for those who traveled a lot or lived in different countries it takes more time than for those who didn't travel much. I have traveled to many countries maybe that's why it is taking more time for us. How about you guys ? Has the beneficiary traveled or lived abroad much?

You are not alone. Our timelines are almost the same. My fiance called the Nvc to get our case number and was told that the Ankara embassy isn't getting new cases from Nvc due to the previous piled up ones. So I don't know how much it's going to take. I'm also confused about ds-160 form. Should we wait to fill it up or fill it up now? is there any benefits of waiting?

No, it said that it is for counselor section. You are advised to fill it right before your interview. I don't know what is NVC priorities to send cases to the embassies. Cuz I see they sent one case that got its case number after me to Ankara embassy and Unfortunately, mine still at NVC 😔

Thank you @0NI . I sincerely hope things in the world will calm and we will see some normalcy this year, allowing all of the embassies to return to their normal services. I realize each person's journey is going to vary at this point in the process, especially in the midst of a pandemic. I was nervous about posting anything, and don't want to appear like I am gloating. I choose to continue to keep positive thoughts and prayers for everyone waiting to hear something, anything. It will come. It will.

Naz2020 got a reaction from Greenbaum in DECEMBER 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
Thank You for your reply. I mentioned in my E-mail to Ankara Embassy that My case is a Fiance visa. And as you can see they replied me that your I-129F (which is a K1 visa form) is not here yet.
The best thing is to wait and see what is going on .

Naz2020 got a reaction from RishDan in DECEMBER 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
I sent an E-mail to Ankara Embassy and asked them to request my case from NVC.
They replied me like this
It seems that I should request it from NVC. Should I send the request immediately or wait for next shipment 21 Jan ( according the 2020 shipping timetable) ?
-
Naz2020 reacted to Greenbaum in DECEMBER 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
The shipping schedule is not being used at this time, but I am not 100% sure as no one has reported when their file has shipped. Send an email using the askNVC.gov
The procedure that you should follow is an email via asknvc.gov and put in the request the following information via the Public Inquiry Form
- Go to NVC.state.gov/inquiry
- Fill out the necessary information
- In the box titled “Type your question below” state your request.
That should do it. Good luck and stay engaged in the process.

Naz2020 reacted to Bug&Bug in What do you look forward to/love the most in America?
Im in the same boat. Ive visited the USA for holidays and its beautiful but the idea of living there suffocates me and I hope Im wrong and get used to it.
Coming from Europe im dreading:
- Having to drive everywhere ( with some terrible drivers!)
- Guns, crime and general lack of safety for women
- Lack of freedom and rights compared to Europe (healthcare, labour rights, work-life balance, social safety nets).
-Some of the food (tomatoes are terrible, pork and lamb are not great).
I really hope its all in my head!

OMG I use to go to the gym at 2AM when i had trouble sleeping but when the gyms closed for covid, I walk now at 6 AM and take my bike in the truck to the park to ride
I guess it would depend on living in big city or country but i have lived in 24 states and always felt safe
Take a self defense class if you have any concerns

Naz2020 reacted to Orangesapples in What do you look forward to/love the most in America?
It entirely depends on where in the US you are. In some cities, people don't even lock their homes and cars, in other places life can be quite dangerous. Here in Orange County, crime is somehow concentrated in a few areas (in still not sure I believe there is a no crime in Irvine) and even those areas are still not exactly ghetto and "cheap" housing costs at least half a million.

Naz2020 reacted to Nicola and Jordan in What do you look forward to/love the most in America?
As JFH said above - the fact you can travel within the same country and you can go surfing or skiing is amazing. Also I love the food and the variety you get in supermarkets (I'm in NYC and from England) and the local delis. I love the diversity of people and how to the point they are here in NY (took a little while to get used to ha).
Lot's of opportunities!
I love living here! It takes a little bit to settle in and I still am but I am very grateful to be able to be here with my husband ❤️

Naz2020 reacted to JFH in What do you look forward to/love the most in America?
I suppose the answers will vary greatly depending on where people came from and where they moved to. For me, many things haven’t changed. I’m doing the same job as I did in the UK, the climate where I live is similar to England, I’m from an English-speaking country so no new language to learn.
What I do like is the landscape where we live. You can walk to the beach and when you’re there you can have your feet in the Pacific Ocean and then turn around and see mountains covered in snow. I also like the wildlife here. We regularly see bears walking around. We have deer that “live” in our yard, raccoons everywhere, cougars, coyotes (that keep me awake sometimes at night with their screeching) and we see eagles every day. Whales and seals regularly visit the water here.
I do also like the variety of a country so big. You don’t have to leave the country to get to tropical beaches, ski resorts, forests, deserts, glaciers, etc. Not many other countries in the world have such variety.

Here is the P3 for Turkey:
https://tr.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/91/2017/06/K1K2-Visa-Instructions-EN.pdf
If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you. I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.
Try either one to see what works for you.
We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.
So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.
Thanks
