Government just shut down Nevada, no marriages are happening for 30 days. Sorry, business will return as soon as possible.

Come to Vegas, I am still hooking people up with marriage certificates in under an hour until further notice. Everything is still doable here, and flights will not get any cheaper than they are now. My last couple was very surprised at how fast I got them taken care of... and my services are still FREE to VJ members!

New update, so that AOS interview I had today was just cancelled and it was originally slated for 2pm pacific time. Seems like some interviews are already being cancelled until further notice.

New update, so I had an AOS interview for a client today and it was just cancelled. It was originally slated for 2pm pacific time. Seems like some interviews are already being cancelled until further notice. I was there yesterday and the interviews did go through, but the officers were all on edge joking about whether they even be coming into work or not. I talked with an officer and they were all given laptops including the clerks, and seems they will be working remotely. This was at the Los Angeles field office by the way, but I can't imagine that a federal agency would deviate too much from other offices.

Today when I was at the Los Angeles USCIS field office for an interview with a client it was definitely different. All officers kept joking about being on standby to get guidance on whether they'd be closing or how they were going to proceed. However, I saw management giving laptops to all the workers and telling them not to forget it.

After the interview I chatted a bit with the officer. He let me know they don't know what exactly is going to happen but said regardless if they Close the offices they'd  be working from home, hence the laptops so they can work remotely.

I asked because most of the time they never approve on the spot at the interviews (in LA and San Benardino anyway)and usually approve within a week if nothing complicated. SometimeS they say they will review it and they end up approving it that same evening. I just said well If you close will that significantly delay this specific applicant and he said no because we will work remotely anyway.

In LA they tried this whole social distancing thing. They were sitting people only in groups of two and then some distance to the next two chairs. The waiting room was about half of the capacity that it usually is. Have another hearing tomorrow so if any updates ill keep all of you posted.

Hello Mario, we received an NOID in 2018, and a denial in 2019. Reason for denial was not meeting the burden of proof for bonafide marriage by a preponderance of evidence. We re-filed immediately and have our interview coming up next month. We have more evidence now and have addressed all the issues raised in the denial. Hopefully we get approved this time. 🙏🏿
    I'd return with good news.
    Thank you.

It has been a crazy 2020, and we are just three months in. I just wanted to share my experience from the law office where I work, so you guys have some idea of the climate currently.

Let me start off with I am frustrated because just yesterday one of those packets sent before the 24th was rejected. It was sent out the 22nd and was delivered to Chicago on the 24th. That same day we sent out seven others exactly the same way. Mind you there is no difference except probably the individual who looked them over at the lock-box. Now 6 out of the 7 were no problem, but one did comeback.  To make things worse it was raining and when it came back the whole packet was soaked. As if someone dipped it in water , so everything inside the packet was destroyed. Of course we always make copies of everything sent, so at least we have that. USCIS has no idea sometimes how to implement its policies, especially regarding this new public charge rule. If they don't know how can anyone else know. We sent those public charge forms out to clients that have consular appointments and sometimes they ask for them and sometimes they don't (although became effective after Feb. 24). I think we wont know the full story until this policy has been in place for at least like a year.

Today I got an e-mail for the embassy in Beirut, Lebanon because one of clients was scheduled   for an appointment there on March 20th. He left on Monday and guess what they are suspending routine consular operations. This might be something that might be prudent to keep an eye out on, because can be the first of many. I am just updating you guys just to give you my experience of the climate right now. It's crazy to say the least.

You can't, and no one will.  The Service Phone number is NOT at the location where your faxed documents go.  There is NO tracking system to update fax-received information at the Field Office you fax to.

Folks...others that are reading this...  you CANNOT find out if the Field Office received your fax, nor will the 800# or even 2nd Tier at the 800# tell you anything about the faxed documents.  Those documents are sent to the fax # at the Field Office processing your case, and they are routed to the Officer handling it.  That Officer does not update any kind of live system where you can see whether or not they received your faxes.  Sorry, but that's how it is at this point.

Hope that finally clears this up.  If you honestly feel the documents didn't get to where they were supposed to go the first time, resend them.  But, don't keep resending them resulting in  you p-ing off your processing Officer.  If you've got the number right, and you included a cover page and case# clearly, presume (and hope) that there are logical folks working at the Field Office, and your fax reached the intended recipient.

    Guys,

I have been following this thread. I just wanted to share my experience about I 765 expedite request. I am currently on OPT, which expires on 08/07/2018 and my I-140 was approved in May, 2018. So, I decided to apply EAD through 485 not through STEM OPT. My category for EAD expedite is 'severe loss to a company and myself + possible medical emergency situation'. Here is my timeline below.

    * May 2018: I-140 approved
    * I-485/I-765/I-131 filed on 05/18/2018 (National Benefits Center)
    * I-765 expedite request by mail on 06/25/2018 (only including my I 765 application info)
    * I-765 expedite request by phone on 07/05/2018 (including my and spouse I 765 application info)
    * Senator's office submitted the request to USCIS on behalf of me on 07/06/2018 (including my and spouse I 765 application info)
    * USCIS requested an evidence via FAX (816-251-2290) for the expedite on 07/10/2018
    * I tried to fax at many different location (FEDEX, Libarary, etc) on 07/11/2018. No luck with FAX. I just mailed the evidence on 07/12/2018.
    * During 07/12/2018-07/13/2018, I used online FAX website to set a fax schedule with 20 min interval for a day. None of faxes went through. This fxxking FAX never answered.

Today 07/13/2018, I received USCIS response to senator's request from the senator's office. It says, 'USCIS will process the constituent's request ASAP'.

Then, I just got an update in USCIS my case 'New card is being produced'.  My spouse request for EAD also got approved at the same time. Provided that my mail with the evidence for the expedite is not delivered, I think Senator's office request made the difference. Hopefully, I get an EAD in my hand soon. Just wanted to thank you guys for the info in this thread.

    Glad to hear it

It happens from time to time, others have experienced something similar. Could be that they didn't properly process the G-1145 form or perhaps some technical issues on the side of USCIS.

I for example didn't always receive a text with a new status update, definitely didn't always receive an email with a status update and the egov page shows different things than myUSCIS account.
