I am IR1 petitioning for my husband who's in Port-au-Prince. We were documentary qualified May the 15th 2020. We received our interview later July 1st 2022 🙄long ### wait..I know 🤦🏾‍♀️His interview is August 9 2022! Try to remain positive...I know it is dreadful..but hold on my people🤞🏿

Wondering if anyone has gotten an interview for March ?
 

Right now K1s are actually faster in Haiti rather than doing the IR1 route. Really backlogged, with K1 you set your own interview as long as they have some available 

I applied for my fiance february 2021. Our case is currently at NVC. I feel so scared and discouraged when I see people since 2019-2020 don't have an Interview. I know there's COVID but other embassy are way faster than that. Haiti is just  messed up in every way. So much suffering before we can be with our loved ones. Can you guys please update your timeline so we can compare and get an estimate. Thanks every, good luck everyone!

So they look at it case by case? We are not going to cancel our pending visa or anything but wondering if this might be an option in the meantime. When my husband gets his immigrant visa he already has a job lined up here so I thought the same job might be able to offer him a work visa while we wait for him to be able to move. The embassy in Haiti is crazy, they are actually prioritizing non immigrant visa interviews right now ahead of immigrant ones which isn’t really fair, but 🤷🏻‍♀️. Some people have been approved and waiting for interview scheduled for 4 years! While others are getting temporary visas much faster. 

Of course, in my opinion all this bs was a set up!

My husband DQ August 12, 2020. We are still awaiting an interview similarly as most folks who has family in Haiti waiting for interview. This process is a nightmare.

Contact your congresswoman/man. Talking about it here raises awareness but contacting someone in government might be a bit better. This needs to change

Reading all these makes my heart hurt. My daughter married Egyptian Jan 2019. Filed Mar 2019. He received his visa June 16th 2021. He will be here in Sept 2021. Goodluck to u all

i agree dq'ed oct 2, 2020 for my kids and husband the only thing that keeps me from going crazy is visiting. i just got back in feb and suppose to talk my family to the decameron beach in nov for our 3 yrs anniversary but now we are thinking other plans now. it's crazy it's like haiti want the people to stay there because the more countries and families in the united states send the more they make them rich. it's also crazy that day in and day out i have watched so many k1s get approved while the family sit and watch. it was the corona then they still say corona and now the embassy is not operating with a full staff. ive been going to haiti since 2014 none stop and the level has always been 4 but they through that in as well. sometimes i just want to cry and give up their so back logged for family/spousal visas people are waiting since end of 2018 or beginning/ middle of 2019. there is no hope help at this point if they keep closing for their holidays us holidays and every little thing our families will not make it over here sorry to think like that but this is what i feel in my heart. i can't live over there because there will be no income but dang you can't even go over their heads haiti is the head and in control. this is one time in my life someone has control and i don't like this feeling. i still pray for everyone and myself at this point and i agree the only way they will make it and have no problems is coming illegally hey biden gave them a pass before doing something about the back logs talking about it is doing nothing. i am getting pissed as i write so let me stop now. prayers for all of us

DQ Oct. 2020 and no appt. This is so painful. It's been 15 years since I've seen my family. The way Haiti is going, I can't go visit them. I was really hoping they'd come before vaccination becomes mandatory for traveling. I hate it here..... ... .............😢😢😢😢😢😢 so sick of this (removed) everyone were running their mouth saying if you're a citizen it'll only be 6 months blah blah blah. (removed) its been 2 years and still suffering. Tired of watching my family suffer and Haiti getting worse by the minute.I wish I knew how to get them here illegally because I dont (removed) care anymore. Haiti is (removed) slow with everything. Tired of hearing Corona Corona.

There goes another reason to shut the embassy down haiti is something else and most def not for their people

Hi. I ve been DQ since Dec 9th 2019. Started the whole process on Feb 2018. Hopefully with this new administration,  that consulate can get the hell out of Haiti and we get a better one. I did some research comparing the number of visas between Haiti, DR and Jamaica. Dr has received almost 3x the amount haiti has received in feb. Jamaica has also received more. If that is not discrimination against haiti, then i don't know what else. 

I feel your frustration...my case was DQ may 14th and still at NVC...when I call they say they're waiting on Haiti to say they have openings so they can send over cases🤷🏿‍♀️ this some bullshit 🙄

My husband was not asked this question however it was obvious since we did submit photos of my moms visit to Haiti to meet him. I don't think it's a big deal at all. I don't know many people that go to Haiti (other than Haitian Americans)- and its not common for family members to travel overseas to meet a child's fiance and most Haitians can't travel to the USA. Seriously you have nothing to worry about
 
However, your fiance must be honest if asked; no I haven't met her family yet.. he should know if you have siblings and if your parents are alive, etc. 

Exactly!! Just came back from visiting my sweetheart in Haiti. Smh! I want to go back 😩 this is disheartening. Time is so important and yet they are wasting it. 

all I can say is a lied  there is no corvid 19 in Haiti personally I've been there for a month the street remain the same no one had mask go to the street markets,  did you see them lol they been saying 200 death do you know someone of those 200 the answer will be no !  trust me you don't,  its all fake news Bs news I even go to DR.. for 5days Punta Cana for 3days I drove there okay no corona in Haiti I don't believe I went there and went to some big hospitals I even go to the one in Mirebalais to cover my story I have stayed in mirage hotel for two days please I have enough of fake news all for money Haiti doesn't have the virus

Why has this country's consulate begun a"phased reopening" which includes offering "limited interview appointments for applicants who qualify for an exception to the covid 19 presidential proclaimations" meaning those who fall under CR1, CR2, IR1, and IR2. Nothing against this country but in comparison to Haiti these are the latest statistics as of 9-29-2020.

As @johnnyj points Haiti has been played plauged by civil unrest for as long as I've been alive. What makes Haiti worse in the past two years than it has been in past previous years, so much so that interviews at a heavily secured embassy (inside and outside) cannot be conducted? Have Embassy personnel not been able to travel to the embassy for work everyday in the previous years before 2019 where there has been civil unrest off and on? It all seems fishy to me just saying.
 

So hi guys, i m very frustrated with that consulate in Haiti. And please save me that BS talking about covid 19 as the reason why they are unable to offer non emergency immigrant visa. Clearly this is an indirect anti immigration. If haiti was that bad with covid, then why the hell the other embassies like Canada are able to resume their routine visa interview. I m also wondering what kind of emergencies do people need to tell them in order to get an appointment. Oh by the way, i requested an expendite last week due to emotional distress on my part and my daughter and i was denied. 

Thank you so much for all your replies. By the grace of God i m safe and healthy. I m honestly feeling so lonely with my daughter during these times. I was planning to travel there next month for our anniversary but had to cancel. Like you said gurl, Haiti is always behind , if its not covid, protest, kidnapping , etc. there shenanigans are a whole level. I m praying that my request got approved and he ll be here before another lockdown. Lord knows its a matter of time before we set back to March again. Be safe everyone and remember to please practice social distance and stay home if you have to. 

Finally a somewhat update about the Haiti embassy 

OP said "1000 jamaican dollars" which is just 7 US dollars.
It's just 7 US dollars.

Anytime a doctor calls you to discuss test results, there is a medical concern that they have to talk to you about.  Whether this will affect your visa should not be a priority, I would be concerned about my physical health.
