Hi guys, hope that everyone is safe during this unfortunate time. I m a US citizen,  my husband got DQ since Dec 10th last year (7 months already😭😭). I kept on checking on the embassy page, there s no update as to when routine visa might occur. At this point, I m thinking about requesting an expendite based on emotional support ( worked and still working as a nurse in the bronx during peak of covid). I m extremely worry that the way cases are increasing,  the US might closed down again which will be another disaster. What do you guys think?? Also is someone please have an email to contact the embassy. I tried calling the number listed earlier , it kept saying that number got disconnected 😭😭😭. Why the hell Haiti got to be behind on everything Lord???

Thanks

I don't think you have grounds for an expedite, but you are certainly free to ask. NVC will schedule the interview after the consulate has informed them of available dates and after those in the queue ahead of you have been scheduled.  Contacting the consulate will be useless.  Good luck.

I saw someone from another country get their expedite request approved in the same manner; they were a nurse and cited emotional distress. Thank you for your work and I hope you have stayed safe during this time. Anyone is free to request an expedite- it won't hurt but it isn't requested through the embassy. Here is the contact info on the PAP US Embassy website for your reference though.

But girl c'mon everything is behind in Haiti lol. I have a feeling it won't be a LONG time until they reopen not only due to COVID but due to the protests. I think the level 4 do not travel advisory was in place for Haiti prior to the current worldwide do not travel and embassy staff had been evacuated months prior to COVID.

Thank you so much for all your replies. By the grace of God i m safe and healthy. I m honestly feeling so lonely with my daughter during these times. I was planning to travel there next month for our anniversary but had to cancel. Like you said gurl, Haiti is always behind , if its not covid, protest, kidnapping , etc. there shenanigans are a whole level. I m praying that my request got approved and he ll be here before another lockdown. Lord knows its a matter of time before we set back to March again. Be safe everyone and remember to please practice social distance and stay home if you have to.

So hi guys, i m very frustrated with that consulate in Haiti. And please save me that BS talking about covid 19 as the reason why they are unable to offer non emergency immigrant visa. Clearly this is an indirect anti immigration. If haiti was that bad with covid, then why the hell the other embassies like Canada are able to resume their routine visa interview. I m also wondering what kind of emergencies do people need to tell them in order to get an appointment. Oh by the way, i requested an expendite last week due to emotional distress on my part and my daughter and i was denied.
