You'll need to follow the instructions and tag @Hawk Riders to be added. People haven't been following the instructions, therefore Hawk Riders hasn't had the data to include on the spreadsheet.

The application specifies parent's name at parent's birth. You should be fine with your original birth name. I suppose any married person who's changed their name can comment further. I've filled out my kids' application with their father's birth date given name (his last name was changed when he was a middle schooler), so it will be interesting to see what comes out of it when we go for the appointments next week!

N-400 January 2024 filers
mam521 replied to Rearviewmirror's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
The simplicity of the N-400 makes you think you're doing something incorrectly after struggling with the rest of immigration. It is definitely a pleasant change of pace! Best of luck -
Search the forum as there are a number of threads on this topic. There are a number of steps you have to take to import it. It's increasingly challenging to do so these days as well.

That's typically a lie. You have to look at the processing times at the centers themselves, keeping in mind your application can be transferred to a different processing center at any time as USCIS attempts to balance workloads. Currently, the centers are stating 14 months average. Remember, too, that the I-130 is just the first stage. Once it's approved, the DS-260 requires submission and approval then you move onto the interview stage.

You are going to have to find an agency in the US that can do your fingerprints and send the request to the RCMP. This is one option: https://reliabilityscreening.ca/usa/ Just make sure you get the correct PRC. Check the Canadian forum for examples of the correct PRC (it does NOT have fingerprints on it). Many people have ended up with a RFE for submitting an incorrect RCMP PRC.

Schoology has a parent app too. You can sign up and see what assignments are there and what's been handed in (or not). This parenting gig just isn't an easy one! I'd consider a Functional Medicine doctor for Mama-TB. They look at things differently. Just because something is "within range" doesn't mean it's in the correct range for Mama-TB. I have a friend who was struggling with fertility and was seeing a fertility specialist. She still lost a baby under the care of the fertility specialist after rounds of IVF. She saw the functional medicine doctor who determined her testosterone levels were too low and testosterone is the precursor to progesterone, which is needed to keep the pregnancy developing early on. Next round, she had a successful pregnancy and the fertility specialist apologized for not having checked something that seems so basic. The point is sometimes a fresh set of eyes on a case can have a renewed perspective and potentially some different solutions.

Houston N-400 Filers
mam521 replied to HOUNOV2017's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Actually, no. Relatively speaking, Canada, by percentage, had more people naturalize last year than the US. -
So, have you guys set up Screen Time? If you're set up as a family, even though you're in different households, there's no reason you both shouldn't be able to control it. If she's not interested, you could set it up and control. Mini-B could be locked out of specific apps until he demonstrated to you the work was done, either through a portal (does his school use Canvas?) or FaceTime. Kid2 gets cut off at specific times daily and if there's some rage gaming going on with anger management issues, there's an instantaneous locked out option to "readjust and realign" attitude. The kids were back in Canada while we were here in Texas and the screentime still works...much to kiddo's dismay. Kid1 is a teenager and basically has the freedom to do whatever, but this kid also has a proven track record of self managing and getting things done. Kid2 has no control. Also, if Band is Mini-B's jam, then maybe that needs to be part of the collateral for working. If he goes to HS and wants to continue in Band, it's no different than Athletics - they have to keep their average above 70% or they get kicked out and put on academic probation. If he wants to remain eligible for Band, then he needs to understand and prove that he can manage his time among everything or it's being taken away among the other rewards such as phone and VR. We need to fork over the cash and get Kid1 tested just so we have proof on paper that it's ADHD and can have testing accommodations in place for post secondary academia for said kid. Kid2 has already had 2 psych ed evaluations done and has been diagnosed with DMDD, which creates some different challenges. Neurodivergent kids' brains respond to stimuli differently than neurotypical kids, so the traditional ways of managing using behavior based reward systems doesn't work. For lack of a better comparison, neurotypical kids are similar to dogs that are food motivated. Food motivated dogs can be trained using treats. Nerotypical kids can be persuaded by behavior rewards. But if you have a dog that isn't motivated by food, training suddenly has to become more creative as you have to find what motivates the dog. In ADHD brains, it's a dopamine hit and that doesn't come from the traditional behavior based reward systems neurotypical people try to apply. It's also, in part, why there are certain tasks that you'll see major task avoidance on - no matter how much the ADHDer knows the task needs to be done, they avoid it and will do any and everything else because they know it won't reward their brain. It can actually do the opposite and cause anxiety, which is even more detrimental. Another interesting thing to note is many neurodivergent kids have the MTHFR gene mutation which impacts their ability to absorb and process folate and B vitamins. These are the building blocks for hormones, which dopamine is. Methylated folate is more bioavailable for our bodies to absorb. A nurse who helps treat ADHD patients in a local group I'm in stated she tells her patients to take a methylated folate and B-12 vitamin supplement and combine with caffeine and these people tend to see their ADHD symptoms calm down. Might be worth the blood test and some kid vitamins with methylfolate for the Tornado. Kid1 has seen an improvement when the teenager actually remembers to take the supplement!

Interview question Spouse interview

Sorry, the attorney. Even worse!!! Fire the attorney! Clearly just trying to set you up for failure to get more money out of you. -
Interview question Spouse interview
mam521 replied to mikejacob141's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
When dealing with Immigration, honesty is 100% the best policy. Act like a criminal, be treated like one. Be honest, and everything will go smoothly. If she's coming to reunite with you and work and study, then be honest that that's what she's going to do. Why did your family tell you guys to lie about it? That's what I don't understand. -
Proof that the petitioner lives in the US. Copies of lease/mortgage agreements, DL, etc. That said, is there a reason you're choosing a K-1 over a CR/IR-1?

I have a friend here in TX who just wants Nanaimo squares for Christmas. Every year - "are you gonna make me some of those tasty Nanaimo squares?" Easy peasy!

It's a ploy to ensure that the regular patrons visit their senior citizen family members to go acquire the coupons! True story. I am allowed to touch and rub the belly of the boy cat. The girl cat - no chance, not ever. That's an invitation to a shredding event. How's your acorn situation? I think we're finally nearly rid of acorns being flung at our heads every time we go outside. Cream cheese works a treat. The vet gave me that tip. Doggo can't smell it and thinks it's a treat. Another option if regular cheese quits working.

NEXUS is a Trusted Traveler program to facilitate entry through Customs in Canada and the US. You technically still require the passport for air travel. There's no guarantee a plane won't have to divert to a location outside of the US or Canada and then your husband won't have proper travel documents.

In summary, all dinosaurs taste the same. Good to know!

All good until CPB actually enforces DOT which requires OEM TPMS. Not the manufacturer's fault and clearly stated in the DOT regulation. Regardless, I'm not importing any vehicles so it's not my circus to run

How to track green card! [merged threads]

Congrats! Big relief -
Sounds like a little bit of peace and routine is returning. Happy to hear it!

These aren't red flags. People have worked on L1 visas before and people have to renew passports all of the time. Initially, it seemed the DS-5535's were targeted for people who were of a MENA background or had worked there or had a specific education type. Then, it seemed to turn unto a random number generator. Elderly parents who'd lived their entire lives on the farm on the Prairies, young children, just...random. Remember, too, that this thread is people who have come together to share their experiences. It's a concentrated number of people for a specific reason. There are plenty of other people who whisk through the process with no issues at all but they aren't here. Immi is hard. It's an emotional rollercoaster. But you gotta make sure that you don't get pulled into the hype and try to logic yourself through so you don't set yourself up for failure.
