I am right there with you. Frustrated that we had planned very modestly to get married in October 2020 (filed in November 2019) and now everything is up in the air. Seeing your encouraging words helps me remember that so many others are in the same boat as me and that is at least a little comforting. Stay positive ❤️

There's so much uncertainty and I think its alright to feel anxious, upset, mourn the things that you were planning as part of this process.  Nothing is guaranteed as far as immigration goes but we're all human and can't help but hope and dream. It's sad when things happen out of your control that impact those plans and dreams you made.  My plan was to get down there in late summer/early fall, get married and go to an afternoon MLB game to celebrate! Baseball may not even start at this point, so plans have to change there lol! 
 
Anyways, chin up guys.. we will get through this and be stronger for it in the end! I'm super glad for the support in this community, you guys are great and I appreciate you.

and paste at first. Continue reaching out. I’m now emailing back and forth with a staffer after my request. It’s all about being persistent BUT polite and respectful. Most representatives really do want to hear from their constituents. After all, we are potential voters if they can solve a problem for us.

Husband got his medical done in Oslo on Tuesday. Just heard from Embassy in Stockholm today and they gave him an interview appt next week! 🥳 Coming to the end of this long journey....finally!

That may be so but is there a need for members to "BE POSTING LIKE THIS!!!! " a bit more empathy would go a long way.
 
EDIT:   I understand the reasoning, I do.  You want people to get the correct information and not have multiple topics, but there is a way of doing things and as I said members could do it a little more diplomatically and empathetically, especially the longer standing members who aren't in the same situation they get to see their partner every day and maybe have forgotten how it feels, support is what's needed in this time for all.

I agree and I do this myself, I am checking all available sources, but this is the internet and people see visa journey at their first stop to find this information, its a problem as old as the internet.  Maybe a regulary updated sticky post is the answer, although I would imagine you will still see multiple posts on the same subject, choose any forum online and you will have a similar problem.
 
Well I can only speak for myself and I get my information from as many sources as possible (VJ included) but until I see something official it will always be unconfirmed.

You have to see though that being told to be patient or wait, while I am sure you are giving the same answer you always would have irks a bit, ill be honest I cant help it.   Its like your in a café waiting for your food, you are very very hungry and you have no idea how long its going to be and the guy on the table next to you with an empty plate tells you "No idea how long the food will be just be patient", now that guy may have been as hungry as you and waited as long as you for your food but they are now there with a full belly and rightly or wrongly a lot of people would be irked.  All Im saying and I'm not saying it to you particularly is some of the longer standing members who have already gone though the process could maybe approach their answers a little more diplomatically, tensions are high as such. 
 
I get that and its honestly not an attack on you or anyone, its good this is a forum with so much experience but sometimes I read and wince at the way some replies come across.
 
Maybe there should be a few pinned topics of questions that are repeatedly asked, it wont stop all the topics being started but may cut them down.  Anyway thanks for the response.
 
 

Yes that's information I agree, but its basically the embassy saying we have no guidance on when we are reopening, I am referring to information or an indication as to when this will be, I think the rest of my post made that clear.  I know this doesn't really relate to you as it seems you finished the process a while ago.
 
The UK government have and are continuing  to provide guidance on when things will reopen (or things already have), that's the information I am hoping the embassies will provide to us soon.

The embassy in Sweden has told me that they will not process any K1s until they are open after closure from the pandemic AND after the proclamation EU travel ban is lifted. 

Can I ask why you are expediting? Seems that is the only reason why the embassy would be working on your case as I have contacted multiple times and was always told that they are not processing K1s right now. Congrats though!! Plenty of us can't wait to be in your shoes!

That’s exactly what I had been told by the Consulate in Italy. Basically we need to wait until the Schengen travel ban will be lifted. As of right now there are no official information about it, unfortunately. 

My embassy also told me specifically that K1s are not included in the proclamation Trump signed on 4/22. The only thing affecting the approval of K1s are the embassies being closed and any travel bans.

Which is consistent with most interpretations because the Proclamation on the banning certain immigrant visa categories should not have any effect on k1s.

We filed the I-130. Expedite is do to financial and husband's job offer. 
USCIS approved our case May 8th and NVC told me they could not expedite but the guy I spoke to said try the Embassy as they CAN expedite any case if they want. 
When was the last time you wrote the Embassy? Perhaps try again...
 
Yes, I know. It's a long process. I think a bit too long for some. 😔

Well the Embassy IS working on cases it seems. NVC denied our expedite so I tried the Embassy and they approved it and asked NVC to send over the case. That was last week. Embassy sent the check list of things they need and what he needs for interview on Thursday and has the go ahead for the medical in Oslo and has an appt next week. Once he has this complete he can go to the Embassy. 
The world has been going through a hard time and this process has been long and emotional. Glad this stressful chapter will soon be closing. 

The most annoying issue is that if some people in the European area really need, and have proof, to get an emergency appointment, that appointment is not given because of the travel ban. Which, in my opinion, is quite absurd. There have been several people that were able to enter the US after quarantining in another country, therefore I don’t see the problem.

We are still at NVC stage of our I-129F....waiting and waiting. We can't even visit each other if we wanted to because of the travel ban. It's honestly so hard being apart from each other. I haven't seen him since the beginning of January. It's the longest we've been apart since we started dating 2 years ago.
