I would never be with someone who thought it was okay to call me names like that.   Full stop.   Maybe your experience with women is that they tolerate it.

    Nope, sorry.

OP’s spouse called her those names.  There is no respect there.

This mentality is the reason why divorce rates are higher than 50 years ago. It destroys the fundamentals of marriage which are communication, respect and working together.

Those 3 come even before love. Love fades away after a short while. Learning those 3 will make you dive deeper than love itself.

I call BS on this.   Maybe it’s an age thing, but at my age, no way would I tolerate being called an(removed)  by a spouse, or anyone else for that matter.   Would much rather be alone than with someone who treated me that way.

OP doesn't have a green card, just filed adjustment of status in June 2023.  Only path to LPR and green card for OP is to reconcile with abusive husband or to leave him and file VAWA (with documented evidence showing battery or extreme cruelty).  Leaving the US seems to be the best option and what OP prefers.

Yes you may leave. There is no exit immigration when you're leaving the US. I'm sorry you're going through this.

You won’t need another health summary from your GP. That is a requirement established by Visa Medicals clinic in London for their visa exam. It’s mostly to catch you out from failing to reveal any problems in the two questionnaires they ask you to fill out. Back when I went through K1 (London), we could say no to all the conditions on the questionnaires and the Panal Physician doing the visa exam would be none the wiser.

You do not have to have anything more to meet immigration requirements because your DS3025 was marked complete.

The reason your PCP is suggesting Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis) is because you need the pertussis boosted to keep you safe from whooping cough. It can be deadly to infants so pregnant women and anyone around babies like parents or grandparents especially need one. The symptoms start like a cold and whooping cough could be easily transmitted to babies before one knows they have it. Tdap is now recommended (and often required by school) for young teens to boost their childhood shots. Those that were not boosted as teens (like you from UK) are recommended to get the Tdap. The brand names for teen/adult shots are Adacel and Boostrix. Further reading on the whooping cough subject from HHS https://www.hhs.gov/immunization/diseases/pertussis/index.html

You think you were boosted at Visa Medicals in London, but Adacel and Boostrix are not available in the UK. The clinic in London likely gave you Revaxis which is tetanus/diphtheria +polio. In the US, the “p”  in Tdap stands for Pertussis, not polio. So you got boosted with Td and got polio on the side which you didn’t need at all for immigration, but that’s the shot combination available in the UK. Immigration was mostly just requiring a tetanus update every 10 years so you got the tetanus/diphtheria +polio (Revaxis) because that’s what they have to offer in the UK.

Again, you are good to go on immunisations for immigration because your vax form was signed off as complete. It is your choice what you want to do about pertussis. Nobody is likely to require it unless you enroll in school or are a medical professional.

Thanks. Yes, I filed for AoS in mid December and included a copy of the medical information. My vaccinations are complete although my Primary Care Physician thinks I should have ANOTHER TTadP despite paying £130 for one in London. Not sure if that's an America thing or a USCIS thing.

Luckily we have an approved Dr not far at all if a medical is needed. I will take some proof of the K1 exemption though as you suggest.

    Thank you.

Simple remedy (that doesn't help you but for others that may come across this)...always apply for SSN and DL in maiden name only as it matches your current valid immigration document (I94).

Worry about changing name on SSN and DL after when you actually have an immigration benefit in that name (EAD or GC).

Even if SSA issues a married name card, you're hooped when it comes to applying for a DL after that (as explained above every state different rules) because SSN name must match current immigration document name (I94) in most states.

MOTS: don't be so anxious to get ID in married name.
For K1s, "name change" happens when your immigration name changes with the approval of first benefit (EAD or GC). Then you go and change name on IDs. SSN REPLACEMENT card will automatically come in the mail after EAD or GC if you applied for an original one OR A REPLACEMENT one on either/both of them and then you go to DMV.

50 different states, 50 different answers. some states take i-797c for DL, and some dont, and required minimum EAD.
problem is even after your driving test, and u pass, you cant apply for DL yet because of that matter

Are you having issues getting your state ID from DMV? If that's the case, you won't be able to do so until you get the EAD/AP card

This is one of those VJ tales as old as time. This was sadly a predictable ending. I've seen pretty much all this guy's posts. First of all, let's not ignore the 44 years age difference. OP is 70-71 years old. Also, wife appears to not speak good English (had to be enrolled in English classes). I cannot imagine how you two communicated and got married in the first place. Couples both speaking fluent English but coming from different cultural backgrounds are not spared from the language barriers, more so when once barely speaks it. Anyway, it's clear that the dynamics in this relationship were very problematic from it's inception.

Even if the family's demands were ridiculous and they were, boundaries should have been set from the beginning. The failure of the marriage was purely due to poor boundaries, problematic power dynamics and partners misrepresenting their intentions to each other.

English is taught in schools in the Philippines. The fact that she had to take classes to learn to speak English means she received poor Education. (Nevermind our diction and accent). And stop kidding yourself that there is no barrier for her. First point of the power disparity in your relationship.

You married her when you were past the age of retirement and she is just barely starting adulting. You don't see a problem with this?
Every divorced couple would tell you they had fun and loving relationship. So what's your point?
    She's using the word Calvary slightly wrong. She translated "kalbaryo" literally. But basically, she's saying they want you to be punished. But then again this shouldn't be a surprise. See;

I remember your post about your concerns about health insurance, even considering Philhealth which indicated you weren't exactly financially comfortable and yet there was some promise to buy a mango farm? Misrepresentation.

The wife not being clear that marriage relied on the purchase of said mango farm. Misrepresentation.

    Anecdotal. Does not help.

Correction:  those types of excessively large age gaps ARE uncommon on US culture.

Maybe they are ‘not uncommon’ for men your age who petition young Filipinas.

An American woman in her 20s would have very little interest in marrying someone who is elderly,  unless significant money was involved.

I think being in touch with each other helped. The POE had some convoluted plan. Once the guy still in the UK knew the name details, he was able to contact the embassy and say his paper work was given to [a specific name, birthdate, and case number] and where it currently was. So considering they let the first guy through POE with no paperwork ought to make you relax over a beat up envelope.

Have a good trip. That layover is punishing!

I had my medical today at Visa Medicals in London for a spousal visa. I just wanted to pass on some information that I was told whilst there.

Depending on your age it seems they are no longer requiring certain tests. Specifically, those over the age of 24 no longer need to give urine and those over 44 no longer need to give blood as well.

I'm assuming this means they are no longer testing those over 24 for Gonorrhea/Chlamydia and those over 44 for HIV/Syphilis, although I'm not sure of the actual reasons for this.

Just wanted to pass on the information to those who are yet to have their medical, they said yesterday was the first day of this new policy.

Here’s a POE nightmare I just thought about that happened to a guy in this very forum. He got to POE and when they opened his white envelope, it had some other bloke’s paperwork inside. 🙀
They wouldn’t show him the name because of privacy but said it was very similar to his. He thought he saw a fiancé name of Jessica when he was trying to look. They let him in without his paperwork and said they would sort it. Meanwhile there’s another guy in the UK waiting on his envelope and it’s at a US airport. We posted on VJ something like “Is there anybody on here in the UK with a name very similar to David Jones and a fiancé named Jessica?” (forgot real names,). Your paperwork is in New York. He actually replied and the two got together by email and helped get it sorted faster that the officials would have. I think they had identical names. Crazy story!
