Didn't know that it was already February in Guyana.   I learn something new everyday.

My fiancee's answer to that was: We want to start living together after the wedding.  If we get married in the foreign country, the spouse visa will take another 8-12 months while we live separately.  Fiancee visa allows us to continue to live together in the USA immediately after the wedding.

That sounds good to me. I’d just go with that, whatever feels right at the time and is truthful because they’re very good at sensing deceit in people’s responses. If you are being honest with them then everything should work out so long as you have nothing to hide and all of your paperwork is in order. Good luck

We have always wanted to get married in a different location, so my fiancé decided we get married where he live so that all his family and mine can also attend the wedding.

Nick&Fatie reacted to AGF in waiting another 6 months to see fiance
I feel you guys.. had the same situation last year and the first 3 quarters of this year. My husband ( then fiancé when he visited me ) went to my home country in May 2018, and we didn’t see each other again until I came here in the US last Sept 2019 through my K1 visa. That’s a solid 16 months of being physically apart. I would have gladly given up everything if I could have visited him, but alas, my tourist visa was denied, and he couldn’t visit me again because of his job.. so we had to endure 16 months of separation. We talked as much as we can every single day ( during our breaks from work which is also difficult cause we had different time zones), emailed each other, took photos of each other and send to one another, share what we were doing on a given time, what we had for breakfast, lunch and dinner, what movie we were seeing, etc etc. All the things that a “normal” couple would do because at that point , that was the only thing that we can do. You will get through this.. when you really love someone, no distance can stop you from growing closer together. Cliche I know, but it’s true.. the reward is so great: to be with him permanently. You can get through this. Keep busy, keep communicating as much as you can. Before you know it, June will be here.. good luck on your journey! 😊

    Hello,
No please, it just said Case last updated 16th October. When I check my visa status before on the ceac website, it says “ready” and the case last updated 23th August. But just checked about two day ago, it changed to case last updated 16th October and “ready”.  Why is that?

Fingers crossed AP goes by quickly.

This wait has been absolutely the biggest test of patience, strength and relationship integrity.

There are so many people here that have been such an infinitely solid guide throughout this process. This life really is a wild ride.

    Computer hugs to you all

Ok. My understanding is that your interview needs to be scheduled before that date or request a extension because if it expires then you have to start over.
I would do more follow to be safe.

Also not necessary for petition approval.  We didn't send any.  Photos are secondary evidence, meaning that they are less useful when it comes to demonstrating having met the in-person meeting requirement.

The only photos required for the petition are the 2x2 passport style photos.

Dude, please don't send all that extra stuff.  That poor person at the CSC who has to wade through it all!  Plus, I suspect that it delays the processing of your petition.

The requirements for an approved petition are so simple:  1) One of the two is a USC.  2) The two have met in person during the immediate prior two years, 3) Both are legally free and intending to marry one another within 90 days of the alien fiance's entry into the US.  That's it.  More may be required at high-fraud/high-risk consulates, but certainly not for Sydney.

Follow the instructions/checklist available on the USCIS website.  The best evidence of the one required meeting in two years prior is passport stamps and boarding passes.

Suggest you both become members of VJ and read as much as possible to learn about the various stages of the process so you can avoid pitfalls along the way.  Good luck!

I'm in Nigeria and their appointments are  far and in between. I know that if you check to many times then they will lock you out.  I would say cut own on how often you check maybe link up with some other people who are filing in Ghana. I know that with me talking to other people filing in Nigeria and building those connections when dates became available we were sharing that info and several of us got dates or even better dates than we had before.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope this was helpful.

Some countries you cannot book interview online you have to contact the embassy or they will call you. I know Haiti you can check to see if your Ghana 🇬🇭 is the same

this just happened with my fiancé and I! our lawyer said that sometimes the embassy will have the paperwork, but won’t have it in their system yet, or they haven’t sent out an email or packet yet with appointment instructions. we called the embassy and they kind of were able to help. I would call them and tell them what’s happening. that was helpful for us. and if you keep checking the site to make your account, you should be able to within a week or so.  we were discouraged and frustrated too.

There is nothing to be afraid of if you receive an RFE. An RFE is an opportunity to correct a mistake and has no baring on the approval/or denial unless such information produces a red flag for the adjudicator then that only uncovers additional issues. Most additional issues we see is prior criminal cases and those may or may not affect the outcome of your case. Such things as forgetting to include a document or such doesn't put you in a position for a denial. So relax.
