Mamuu reacted to Sea Leslie in Communication Issues
At first, I thought it was just me... Seriously thought I was going crazy that we could have meaningless disagreements as the time get closer for us to be together. It helps to know I am not alone, and I love all of the suggestions from the community. I did have a conversation with him about my fears, and his thoughts about why we happen to have so many disagreements. It has gotten better

Dream together. For us it means talking on the phone or video about what our “normal life” in USA gonna be like. My French husband also has problems with his current employment in France, it’s seasonal and sporadic. We are at NVC stage. Hope he will move here in December. And we talk about what jobs he may have here. Lots of openings for all kind of ages (we both are in a pre-retirement stage) especially entry positions and part-time. It reassures him as he explores the websites of companies in Arizona to apply. Also, he speaks English well but never studied it properly. We are talking about ESL classes, too.
We talk about vacations in our “normal life”, places in Arizona and USA we gonna go and see, things we gonna do, etc. We are both happy after “doing dreams” like those together. For us it’s like making plans. Maybe talks like that will be therapeutical for you, too?

Mamuu reacted to AMB in VISA IN HAND
First of all, i would thank all VJ MEMBERS for their help and support
today i received my k1 visa
on 18 AUG my interview was and i was denied under 221 g and the red flag was extreme vetting 5535 which requires extreme background check because i have many visas to iran, india as well.
so the extreme vetting I received after 3 days of my interview which i was interviewed in Baghdad
then i at 5 sept the status of my case changed to Nonimigrant as it was immigrant then after that date , the embassy emailed me to send the medical examination and my passport and after one week it was issued
my advice is that don’t GIVE UP because mine was very difficult so please be patient

How old is your daughter? If she is a minor do you have custody/permission from the other parent for the child to immigrate to the US?

Mamuu reacted to Dashinka in Is hiring an Immigration Attorney worth the money?
The only answer is that it depends on your case and what you want for apparent peace of mind. Keep in mind hiring an attorney is really just a consultant to help educate your regarding immigration questions. You will still need to do all the legwork, and you are a fool if you do not double check their work (many stories of attorneys screwing up cases which is why I said "apparent peace of mind"). Most folks here (VJ is a self-help immigration site) will say if your case is straightforward (no criminal issues, no overstay issues, etc.) and you are competent at reading instructions and filling out forms, there generally is no need for an attorney unless it is simply for that apparent peace of mind. If you do have a complicated case, then a competent attorney is probably warranted. In the end, the decision is yours. If you do go the lawyer route and any lawyer advertises or tells you they can speed up the processing, run away and look for someone else.
On a personal note, we started this process back in 2013 with no experience, and my wife and I made it just fine all the way through naturalization with no issues. Back when I started, I had a family friend immigration lawyer review my I129F application, he looked at me and said save my money, do it yourself. Best lawyerly advice I ever received.
Good Luck!
