My husband's first interview was on his birthday in 2017 and did not end as we hoped.    His third and final trip to Islamabad embassy happened to be on my birthday.  After spending 4 hours at the embassy he walked out with Visa in hand (yes this actually happened)!!!

I never see this guy ever have any positive feedback....just very condescending remarks about EVERYTHING.   Has he ever even been to Nigeria? Interviewed?   We are all missing our loved ones and no one needs his negative energy.  Ignore that dude...
 
My husband had his interview on March 8th in Lagos and we were missing one document which he submitted on March 18th along with his passport.  I was in Nigeria for the interview and waivers were granted.  You did not need to request it.   The consulate determined your eligibility at the time of the interview.  On March 20th the Embassy closed.  So we wait (le sigh...lol)

Cheer up dear, trust me that guy has never been to Nigeria, don't let any negative vibes get to you. All these crazy moments will be  history soon.

We're not the government, so focusing is hard right now because of everything going on. 
We're grateful that after the ban majority of spouses who went for their interview got waived and approved, most of them are with their loved ones now.
 
And the rest of us haven't gone for our interviews because of the lockdown plus the Consulate isn't holding interviews yet.
 
So yes, there's Always a way, and in this case, all spouses including myself who is waiting for their interview will get approved as soon as we go forward to the embassy. And when we re-unite with our spouses we will sit together and look back at this time with hearts full of praise and Thanksgiving. 
 
So you see the cause of the ban is the governments problem to solve not ours. You guys should stop adding sand to our garri, the process is hard enough.

Visas are still been issued using the visa waiver program, we all know about the ban ,visa issuance will be determined by the interviewer wether you qualify for a waiver thanks, do some research before conclusion because those that don’t know more about this will have their anxiety kicking in after reading your comment, do some research on special immigrants too

I agree, these days the tension is higher than usual. Fighting amongst ourselves isn’t going to do anything other than add more stress. The embassy opening is based on the plan created by the Department of State and the local situation of the country the embassy/consulate is located. I hope more will be entering the early stages of opening by next month so people can get interviews and reunited with their loved ones. I know everyone is anxious but please let’s just try to remain positive and civil. We are all going through similar situations which our friends/family members might not fully understand so we rely on this community for support and advice.

Correct - that’s what some of us have been trying to explain. There are bans for Schengen, China, Iran, UK/Ireland (and I think some other regions), but no general tourist ban (let’s not put even more strain on the travel industry), so we assumed the denied boarding happened due to the traveler trying to travel from Germany (Schengen ban) on a tourist visa not being a spouse or child of USC or LPR.

The global suspension of visa processing doesn't appear to have lifted so it's unclear if that has an unpublished expiration date, embassies can start operations at their leisure, or the that the state department may ask the above examples to pause longer.
 
I would strongly advice watching embassy news sites, embassy twitter feeds (including their replies to other) as these are the official US government updates on these matters, and that appointments opening without the embassies acknowledging it may be a limitation of their systems on how long the interviews can be paused for.

The trump Administration is planning to pass an Executive Order in the next 24 hours to suspend immigration to America.  While it's unlikely the President will change their mind on the general policy, we believe they may consider a narrow exception for immediate family members of US Citizens, including fiancés.  We've started a petition a the White House which requires 10,000 signatures to get attention and 100,000 signatures to get a formal response.  Please join us by signing the petition at the following link.  We should have the membership to make a solid run at getting enough signatures!

Yes and that means citizens and residents from those countries can't enter Nigeria but Nigerians can still travel to those countries (US inclusive). So until those counties close their borders on us, we are allowed to go there.
Though it wouldn't be a good idea to travel now with the situation of things. But you have to travel before your medical or 6 months issued expired. Else you have to start another visa application all over (pay new medicals, new visa fees, gather documents and the likes) which can be stressful. 

Definitely patience...I'm kidding about "shooting the messenger".  You have to find some humor in this process or go nuts!!!!  So much is going on at one time, travel ban....coronavirus ban...bombs at the Embassy...WTW????🤪

I think the best is to fly direct from Lagos to the US. Delta airline goes straight to America. In that way you don’t need to stopover

I just want to thank everyone in this group for sharing ideas and information. My husband has collected his visa today and am super excited. His interview was last week Tuesday.I wish you all good luck.
