Hi All,
I have been MIA for a while, this journey had become too stressful 😐 But I'm happy to let you know that my husbands interview has been scheduled for January 20th at the US Embassy in Jordan. F2A category, named plaintiffs in YoungvTrump lawsuit and therefore not any longer subject to the ban 🙏
With Baghdad embassy closed (my husband is Iraqi), we were re-assigned to Abu Dhabi. However, UAE currently makes it super difficult to enter the country, as visit visas for many countries in that region have been suspended. We requested a transfer to Amman, and thank god (and the Consular Officers at the Embassy) got accepted under the condition that my husband needs to be physically in Jordan first. We arrived in Jordan on 12/26, and after almost 2 weeks of uncertainty and anxious waiting, our case got re-assigned and expedited to post. 5 days later we received IL for 10 days later. We are both exhausted and running out of energy, but hopeful that we can travel home together soon.

It went well, other than a stress headache afterwards. Painkillers helped with that.

I was super nervous, but they were all super friendly and made it pretty clear that if it was up to them, they would've processed people much sooner. Apparently there's about 30 non-plaintiff cases that they're not allowed to work on. Aside from the usual questions, he also asked me how we joined the lawsuit and told me that it looked like we made the right decision by joining. He also told me to make sure I followed the third country quarantine and that it's better to book an extra day than to end up getting sent back. It was pretty clear that he felt bad about making us wait 9 months and wanted to make sure that I got there as soon as possible. It was a pretty positive experience. He didn't tell me that I got approved, but he told me that, if I get approved, I should get everything in the mail early next week. He kept my visa, so I assume that it's good news, but who knows at this point. It's still 2020. CEAC says that's in AP (which seems normal, according to the internet, at least for a few days), so I'm glad it doesn't say denied yet? Idk.

I have my interview on Thursday, but I was a plaintiff.

If I was trying for a K1 visa,  i certainly would not site this case
Telling any US government agency they have to do something is a good way to get them to say No as a denial is an action
I would have spent all this money on flights to a neutral country and fee for spouse visa (as many embassies have started to process them)
lawyer and court cost with no guarantee of the outcome at interview is a big waste of good money

Hi everyone,
My husband's interview was today and he was approved. He said it was straightforward, they asked for his civil papers originals (birth certificate, marriage certificate, 2 police certificates - one from UAE and one from Jordan) 
They asked how we met, who is the joint sponsor. 
He was in and out in less than 2 hours.

I received NOA1 and it said California...

Exactly. You’re entitled to your opinion & I’m entitled to mine. 
 
as for the limitless goodness part, we can agree to disagree again. Either you’re oblivious to what’s been happening since the past 4 years & again this year in November or you prefer to overlook it. That’s upto you. However i agree with you about the possibilities this land has to offer.  
 
it’s just my opinion that ( after having travelled widely - 22 countries including Europe ) US is far behind when you consider the metrics used to compare most developed countries. Of course, if you compare US with non developed  countries then US is any day better than them for living. 

I’m not questioning the motive of anyone, Jeez!! 
you’re talking about immigration that happened ages ago from these countries. So much has changed in the US since. Europe & European citizens has way much better standard of living than Americans. I asked that question from that perspective. 
 
further during my oath ceremony, i didn’t see any new citizens from Europe or from any of the developed world. They were mostly from Africa, some from Asia. 

I understand Everyone has their own reason. I was just looking from a different perspective. Because Europe is far ahead in terms of universal healthcare, social security & human rights than USA. 

That’s irrevalent. But FYI I’ve dual nationality with South Africa. I immigrated here not because EU wouldn’t take me, i never applied. And my family ( wife & kids ) are here.  There are better countries than US , doesn’t make US a terrible country. That’s some poor comprehension skills on your part. Since you’re taking personal pot shots instead of discussing the actual point, i have no interest in continuing this discussion here. 

My interview is one day post inauguration...woohoo 😅

1/ If your marriage certificate is already in English, you don't need a translation.
2/ The online tool gives you dedicated spaces to upload certain things like marriage certificate, photos, and so on and so forth. I didn't prepare a cover letter. But I made a little story out of the secondary proof (photos, flight tickets and such) - I placed photos of us and photos of tickets etc in chronological order and made a little description (e.g. In june, we traveled to XXX [insert tickets] where we visited this museum [insert photo of us in museum, and museum tickets] and climbed mountain XX [insert photo of us on mountain].
I didn't expand too much, but wanted to create something nice and fun and easy to read for the IO who works our case. I imagine that they see sooo many cases per day that a little fun story in between is a nice change :)
 
Don't worry, I think there isn't a single person that didn't feel like this is overwhelming at the beginning. Visajourney is an amazng resource with knowledgeable and honest people. I'm yet to find out myself how to easily format images in word by the way lol
 

When did you have your interview? Honestly I would contact a Senator and have them inquire on your behalf if nothing happens 30 days after interview. Cory Bookers office is super helpful if you are in NJ. He'll definitely have my vote once I naturalize  

Interesting  Well if they expedited on their own request (weird) then they'll probably reach out shortly after it says "ready", since at that point the case has reached the embassy. You could email them and ask about instructions to schedule medical and interview. Good luck!

Finally, the journey is over for our baby girl!!!  Her visa status changed to issued tonight!!!!!  Hallelujah!!!!!  We will be heading down soon to get her to bring her home.  Thank you all for supporting us on thing longggggggggg journey!!!!!!  Much blessings to all!!!!
