The timeline for receiving your case number is this. From USCIS to NVC about 4 weeks. NVC is issuing case number in about 2 weeks after receipt from USICS. Then your file is shipped to your embassy based on the current scheduling. June 11 or 25 are the shipment dates for this month. Case number assignment must be assigned before the Wednesday before the next shipping date. That is the history of the past 9 months.

So you are still too early.

My NOA2 is also 5/13. I called at 5pm EST and the rep stated that it arrived to the NVC in the morning of 6/5. No case number available yet though. ...Yours may have been arriving during the moments you called. The wait shouldn't be much longer

My case arrived to NVC today(6/5) as well. After looking at the most recent timeline trends, I think it's POSSIBLE for the case to make the 6/11 shipment, but I don't have my hopes up for that date. I feel realistic about making the 6/25 shipment.

The first post in this thread on page 1 has a PDF that says NVC ships out to consulates and embassies every 2 weeks. Tuesdays and some Wednesdays. @Sarge2155 periodically informs everyone when the next shipment is approaching. ...If you look at timelines where it says "Left NVC", the last cases to leave were on Tuesday(5/28) ...and just a few on Wednesday(5/29). ...Everyone with cases at the NVC hope to make the 6/11(6/12) shipment OR 6/25(6/26) shipment. ...But no guarantees of course.  The NVC rep yesterday informed me that "it takes up to 8 weeks to generate a case number". ...For MOST people, things are moving wayyy faster than the Department of State's projected wait times.

Why are you doing the I-129F? The American is supposed to complete this form. Your English is somewhat limited and it’s crucial that no questions are misunderstood in this process. This particular question (concerning criminal history) is very important and an incorrect or insufficient answer can cause problems with the case.

If the I-129F were intended to be completed by the beneficiary, it would be available in every language.

I think August is worst case scenario. The point is don't set expectations too soon, if things come earlier consider it a pleasant surprise. That's easier said than done when we have schedules that we find ourselves attached to.

Has the pace of the NVC slowed down over the past couple of weeks? The majority of the timelines from April have about a 30 day time period from when they get their NOA2 and when the case LEAVES the NVC. ...I know the mileage varies. ...Not sure if there is a growing backlog or if this is the seasonal peak starting where the volume of the caseload starts getting heavier. ...My NOA2 was 5/13. I estimated that we would make the 6/11 shipment from the NVC, but my case hasn't even arrived. Hopefully it's reasonable to expect that we could be on track for the 6/25 shipment to the consulate.

For those of you still waiting to be shipped out and those that have just gotten their NOA2 within a few days ago the next shipment day out from NVC  to your individual embassy is June 11, 2019 and then after that it's June 25, 2019.

Pretty sure for the most part when they ask about it they just want to verify you are who you say are. They will run background check on you, and deep searches that will uncover every encounter with a law you ever had. And since they are the law, by definition what they do is legal. If they find something that you didn't disclose, you lied, petition denied have a nice day. You can be Don Quixote fighting the wind turbines, or you can get your 129F approved and move on with the rest of your life.

Well, I graduated from law school in two different countries and have never encountered the term!

It's sort of beside the point. The reality is (1) bogus charges were brought against you and (2) the court said they were bogus. This is great! All you have to do is tell USCIS this exact truth. You look good and totally vindicated. Not disclosing it makes you look bad and like you're hiding something. Transparency is key here. Be transparent, and things will go much better than if you don't.

In the English language the phrase "I wonder" can be construed as an underlying question. From your reply it seems you got this all figured out so I will dismiss your future questions which will save me time to answer the hundreds of other that I help. Good luck.

Just a little info on my situation and emotional rollercoaster going threw the process as a K1. My now husband aand I went threw different emotions and started acting a little off with each other during the Visa process. It wasn't due to doubt or questioning is this really what we want? It was excited and reality of omg this is really happening then realising I'm leaving all my friends and family behind with slight fear. A few fights came out from it due to how each stage impacted us individually but after being open and honest with each other we knew it was the stress of the application. Before you jump the gun and withdrawal the application have you talked to him as to why he being different? It is a rollercoaster of emotion and it's vital to communicate with each other so there no cross wires. If you have that gut feeling after talking to your partner then yes I would withdrawal the application.

Once I arrived in the US that was another rollercoaster of emotions and with communication and support we got threw it. Sometimes I would withdrawal from being home sick sometimes I was tired of being stuck at home but we got threw it we talked it out and was open with 1 another. We're now 9years married with 2 kids.. communication goes a long way. Just cause it doesn't work out for some people don't assume you'll be the same trust your gut and communicate with your partner to clear up any doubts

We can't know what goes through the minds of USCIS, but I don't think you have too much to worry about...

The fraud they are looking out for is people trying to either trick or collude with a US citizen in order to gain entry to the USA. Your fiance has 2 big things in his favor

    1) he's already been in the USA legally on a J1 visa. If his aim was just to get to the USA, he'd either have overstayed that, or found someone to marry in the USA in order to stay. But he didn't - he left and returned to Europe. This tends to point to him being honest, and the relationship being genuine.

    2) he's legally living in Italy. Again, the incentive to commit visa fraud to get to the USA is reduced quite a bit if you are already living in a developed rich country.

He's not consulate shopping by going via an Italian consulate, since he lives in Italy. It would make no sense for him to go via Ghana.

No one can guarantee success in this process, but I'd say you have less to worry about than many others from Ghana. Are you of similar ages (large age differences can be a red flag especially if he's much younger than you)?

My wife and stepson had their K1/K2 visa interview at the US Consulate in Guangzhou, China. That is also considered another high fraud area. It is next to impossible for a single Chinese female to get a visitor/tourist visa to the US, so as a consequence, I did a fair amount of traveling, and got to see a bit of China with my own personal tour guide.  I made a total of 3 trips to the PRC, including one to be with my new family at their visa interview. Due to space constraints, the USC is not allowed to be in attendance at the visa interview. But I was just as nervous, in the consulate vicinity, "enjoying" a doppio espresso. Feel free to read our review of the interview of 12 June 2012.

After being there one morning and seeing the ocean of people that deluge the US consulate trying to come to the US...amazing. In the early morning, there was a nice one-block city park, where people would listen to opera and do their exercise programs. Across the street from the park is the office complex where the old consulate was located. At around 8am, the police would show up, putting up the teller lines that stretched all over the large plaza entrance to the consulate, maintaining order in a chaotic situation.

    1) He's from Ghana, but using a different embassy -Do we still need to go above and beyond with proof of continued relationship? Like printing a zillion what'sapp pages?

yes just because he in italy he still born in a high fraud country ...all u need is 3 days of chats per month..simple...just to show consistency

I was thinking of printing 2 screenshots of conversation a month since we filed, some wedding plans, and a couple of video chat screenshots with him and my family. ---YES  this is exactly what I did...I frontloaded the heck out of mine

    2) Will they say we "only met twice", so should I spend the time off and money to go to Naples for the interview? -Do we already have enough face-to-face time? ---quality over quanity..if ur two visits have a lot of evidence in them then yes if not then i would say go

    3) This might sound cheesy, but should I get my Dad to write a letter acknowledging our bona-fide relationship, and supply screenshots from Dad's phone of them scheduling guitar practice in my living room, my Mom might have a picture of them practicing?  yes my mom and brother wrote one..also his mom and pastor from Ghana wrote...i also did screenshots of us with each other familes..the more the better

but dont be thinking because he in another country he will have it easy...put all u can into it
