Israel has given the UN a proposal to dismantle Unrwa, its relief agency in the Palestinian territories, and transfer its staff to a replacement agency to make large-scale food deliveries into Gaza, according to UN sources.

"Occupied Gaza."  Prior to October 7, there were roughly two million Arab citizens of Israel but no Jewish citizens in Gaza.  Gazans in 2006 voted in Hamas to rule them.  It summarily executed its Palestinian Authority rivals.  Hamas cancelled all future scheduled elections.  It established a dictatorship and diverted billions of dollars in international aid to build a vast underground labyrinth of military installations.

So Gaza has been occupied by Hamas, not Israel, for two decades.

"Collateral Damage."  Hamas began the war by deliberately targeting civilians.  It massacred them on October 7 when it invaded Israel during a time of peace and holidays.  It sent more than 7,000 rockets into Israeli cities for the sole purpose of killing noncombatants.  It has no vocabulary for the collateral damage of Israeli civilians, since it believes any Jewish death under any circumstances is cause for celebration.  [...]

SCHUMER’S STATEMENTS send a message to Iran and its terror proxies that America has thrown Israel under the bus. So, it should be no surprise to anyone that the Hamas leadership is in no rush to free the hostages.
  Hamas’s Ismail Haniyeh and his cohorts undoubtedly see Schumer’s anti-Israel remarks as further indication of the mounting US and international pressure to end the war. Simply put, the way that Hamas leaders see it is “if we just wait a little longer, Israel will be forced to stop the war due to international pressure and threats.”
  Schumer’s feelings toward Netanyahu are irrelevant – what matters is that the timing of his attack has sabotaged the mediation efforts to secure the release of the hostages. Whatever the price was prior to his statements, it just went up by a lot. Hamas will now buckle down and harden their position because they believe they have allies in Washington and other Western capitals and because, well… they can.

An odd one from Slate but a lot of schools are now going for cellphone free policies - either taking phones from kids or locking them in lockers for the day. Our local schools are planning to do this and it's causing a lot of uproar in parents who want 24/7 access, and some kids that are scared something bad will happen and will be unable to call their parents. But there are other reasons parents are demanding all sorts of uses for cellphones in class.

I recall getting a ticket in my new Red Trans Am in Laurens county GA going 66 on I-16 West Bound(during the 55mps speed limit nonsense) I  had just come from a flight physical  at Hunter Army Airfield and was in My Class A's 1st LT Army uniform. Now Stellantis (Chrysler for the most part). They will put a Challenger, Charger or 300 all day long on the road.. Santander is a well known bank that will put a person with bad credit in a ride. Usually fees to the dealers etc. You see all these guys running around in Chargers and Challengers.. More than likely sub 600 score. Not all but many

Before DIA the Denver Airport was Stapleton, when I came to Colorado the Airport was no more but there was a museum and a rapidly expanding high end development. Basically now a suburb of Denver.

Riley Gaines, female athletes sue NCAA for letting men compete against women
 
Women's sports advocate Riley Gaines has joined over a dozen female athletes in filing a lawsuit accusing the National Collegiate Athletics Association of violating Title IX civil rights law by forcing them to compete against and share a locker room with trans-identified males. 
 
The Independent Council on Women's Sports announced Thursday that it's funding the lawsuit on behalf of 16 former and current female collegiate athletes, including Gaines. The athletes are challenging the NCAA regulations that have allowed males who identify as female, such as NCAA champion swimmer Lia (Will) Thomas, to compete in women's sports. 
 
"By challenging the NCAA's draconian and discriminatory policies, we're sending a clear message: the integrity of women's sports is non-negotiable," ICONS co-founder Kim Jones stated.
