  1. Can someone who has received the NOA1 for ROC in the mail tell me if the envelope says "return service requested."  We filed on November 22 and our check was cashed on November 30.  We had to come to NC to help relatives so I did a change of address on December 1.  We haven't received anything from USCIS at this change of address so I worry that a letter might have been sent back if "return service requested" is printed on the envelope for the NOA1.  Thank you in advance.

  2. We submitted the I-751 on November 22. Our personal check was cashed about a week later but we did not sign up for email or text alerts.  We temporarily just relocated to NC to help sick family and have done a change of address with USPS.  I am worried that our NOA might not be forwarded.  For those of you that got the first NOA on your ROC via the mail, did the envelope say "Return Service Requested?"  Please let me know.  Thank you.

  3. My partner came from Nigeria in April 2019 and we married the same month.  We filed for AOS in May 2019.  We received our NOA 1 on May 23, 2019 but haven't heard anything else.  We thought he would have had the biometrics appointment by now.  We live in Central PA and our biometrics location will be in York, PA.  Does anyone have any advice?  We've called USCIS once and got no answers.    I don't know if this type of delay is normal.

It's been a long time since I posted but I was an August 2018 filer.

  5. I am hoping someone can advise me.  The NVC gave us the case number and invoice number today.  What should our next steps be?  Should we pay the fee at GTB bank and then complete the DS-160?  Can my fiance go to Lagos and complete his medical and police exams even though we haven't scheduled our interview yet because the embassy does not have our file and probably won't have it for another month?  Thank you in advance.

Welcome. We are glad you are hear. Maybe you missed this while lurking but if you could finish your profile we could assist you more.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

    Thanks

    Done!  Thanks.

Welcome to the Group.  I live in NC also.  My fiancé is Nigerian who lives in The Gambia.  Our NOA1 is 8/2/2018.  Hope things will go fast for all of us 😄

I actually live in PA but I am from NC so that is where our wedding will be.  We have been told that we can't do the medical exam or background check until we hear from the initial application.  I wanted to do those now so that he could get the first embassy appointment available.  Did you also hear this?

  8. Hi everyone.  I'm new to this group.  My  I-129F form was received on August 3, 2018.  My notice date was August 8, 2018.  My fiance lives in Nigeria.  We are so ready to be in the same place.  I have always lurked on this website (even before I created a profile) but never posted before now.   Since mid-to-late July filers are starting to hear, I decided now was the time time post and hopefully celebrate good news with everyone else.  I hope that the holidays do not slow things down too much.  My fiance and I hope to have a wedding in NC in late July.  Do you all think that will be possible?  I will be praying for all of us.  The waiting has been hard but we are getting super duper close...
