Esterlyn gave you a good response. But yeah as soon as we entered the IO's office he asked us if we were gonna need a translator. You should double check it, but I don't think the translator will be allowed in the room with you, but on the phone yes, so maybe do some arrangements for that. It is also possible that the office you're going to may provide a translator to you as well (I've read here that some people didn't even need their own translator because the IO offered one from USCIS but you should double check that).
Yeah we took our taxes because it was new (2020), by the time we had filed the AOS we only had the 2019 taxes. IO did not ask me about health insurance but we had all the papers with us just in case.

It is not a denial, but rather a rejection of the submission.  I don't believe they cash the check/MO when an incomplete form is submitted (forms that lack the minimum required documents), they simply reject it, send it back and let the filer re-submit.  In the case of the friend of the OP, they filed right at the end of the 2 year in-person meeting requirement, but USCIS would not even look at that until they received a complete package which took several months for the filer to complete.  At this point, it is only a guess, but I think the actual denial of the I129F was most likely the 2 year rule timeframe expiring by the time the filer actually had a complete package submitted.  We will see.

Thank you so much guys for taking time to answer my inquiry here. So, this is the back story of the case. This case is not mine. we are helping a friend with his petition for I-129F or fiance visa.

He went to meet his Girlfriend in Philippines Nov. of 2018. Filed divorce 2019 from previous marriage. He filed I-129f Nov. 2020.
January 2021 his I-129f  Packet was returned to him. The notice says he fails to put his signature on the Petitioner's declaration signature. He then again send the I-129f packet back to USCIS the next day with his signature. March 2021 he received a notice of receipt telling him that they received his case. July 2021 he received an RFE. he fails to check or answer the question (have you ever been arrested). he answered it and mailed it back to the uscis. he said he noticed that he send the photocopy instead of the original RFE that the uscis sent him. i dont know how many days had passed when he realize it. but he did send the original RFE to the USCIS right away. yesterday, he check his case online and it showed case is denied. now he is thinking of hiring a lawyer for this case.

i saw some red flags along way.
1st- he fails to put his signature
2nd- he fails to send the original rfe.

in this case he needs to go back to the Philippines because the 2years of meeting is already passed due.
we still dont know the reason for the denial until he receives the notice.
we told him to visit visajourney because this site ready help you find answers.
i dont know if he ever visit this site. we just want to help him.

If he is visiting his fiance anyway, he might want to get married and fill out the paperwork together. Then he can send them when he is back.

He needs someone to double check everything for him.

It depends on your case if it’s fairly straight forward.

We started with the K1 December 2016, now just recently approved for the 10 year green card! Took almost 5 years, but we did everything ourselves with guidance from Visa Journey.

This site is a god send.

    Good luck!

I think you hit the nail on the head with this guy!  Some folks lack the attention to detail to do this stuff themselves and this guy, with his forgetting signatures and not following requests, shows he needs support if/when he applies again.

If their case is straightforward, meaning no criminal history, no visa denials/violations/overstays, they can DIY the process themselves. They just need to invest the time and effort to study the instructions. They can always come to VisaJourney to ask for help.

If their case has any of the complications mentioned above, they may need a lawyer.

Yes. You husband can be a joint sponsor for his brother. Just make sure his income is sufficient to cover his as well as intending immigrant. You will need to count your household, add the brother's fiancé and then grade it on the attached link to see if he qualifies.

Been so long since anything happened for us that we have not viewed the August filers blog.  Good to see so many people have moved through the interviews and received their green cards.   Finally have interview scheduled for August 5th.  One year to the day they accepted our 485.  Since we filed the 485 within one year of the overseas medical, we assume all will be well.

Interview this morning. It went fine but the officer complained about the lack of financial evidence - one joint account with multiple transactions since the marriage isn't enough? - and said itd go to review not approved on the spot.

Got out and checked online and said "new card is being produced" soooooo that's it! Will write a review later

Had our interview awhile ago. It was a smooth interview. Though they ask me about a copy of my medical. I told them that I gave the whole packet to the immigration officer in our port of entry which is Los Angeles. He said it was not in my files. Glad that I have extra copy of my vaccination record. So he photocopied it. The officer told us that he can't make any decisions right now cause he needs to review our case. I didn't received any RFE for a medical. So we finished the interview and went home. After 2hours I checked my case online. Nothing change. Then around 4:30pm I checked again. Lo and behold, card is being produced for both me and my son. Praise the Lord. God is good.
I will miss this site. Without you guys here I dont know how my experience will be like. Im thankful for Visajourney.
Maybe see you again after 2year for removal of conditions.

    Hello September filers.
So later today at 1:35pm is our AOS interview at Chicago.
    Hoping for a positive outcome.
Still haven't filed my SSN. I will do it after the interview since I'll be sending them original documents thru mail. Or I can go in person again but it will be in May 11. That's a very long time to wait.
Anyway, have a good day everyone.
