To bring a spouse to America the only way is I-130. K3 is obsolete as they do not process those anymore. You will need to wait till the forwarding service center can review your petition. My priority date was October 12 2018 and recieved a NOA2 in February 12 2019. Mines was also sent to Potomac SC and it took mines about 4 months (123 days). All you can do is wait till you get the second notice. Congrats for starting the process and good luck!

Your USCIS account will not update with anything NVC. You'll have to call NVC to get the receipt date directly from them.

Our petition is at the Nebraska center. Any hopes for us getting a NOA2 in the next 3-4ish months? I'm so impatient!

Also, congrats to our first October filer receiving their NOA2! I'm so happy for you and only sliiiightly jealous 😂

Thank you. And yes they are moving very fast. It took exactly 123 days (4 months exact from my PD) From what I read Potomac SC only works on I-130 petitioning for spouse, parents of USC and children under 21 of USC. So that’s why I assume they can work on cases faster than the other service center. But I could be wrong. Now the next wait is getting the darn case number to start my NVC online process. Now I’m hopeful that maybe when I go visit hubby during the summer I can bring him back with me. That would be the greatest. The faster I work on it here the faster the embassy gets the application and paperwork. Definitely will keep updating and good luck to all.

I’m guessing I’m the first October filer that got approved ☺️. I didn’t submit the document for getting email updates but for some reason while talking on the phone with my husband I checked my account on myuscis.gov (not the other one that you can check your case status without logging in) and it said my case was approved on February 12th! Best Valentine’s Day gift ever! My PD was October 12 at the Potomac service center. Didn’t receive the noa2 letter yet but should be coming soon. Soon everyone else will be getting approved. Good luck everyone.

Those who gets to visit their spouse often are super lucky. I married my husband in August. Came back to the states in September and submitted the paperwork in October (PD 10/12/18 Potomac SC) thankfully it’s one of the fastest SC but I won’t be visiting my husband for 1 year. Planning to go back in July/August of this year to celebrate my bday/our anniversary/a religious holiday and hopefully have his interview so I can bring him back with me. It’s too expensive to travel so often and especially during summers. My parents went through this process in the early 90’s and they waited 3 years (had my sister in the meantime) so 12-14 months is wayyyy better. Best of luck to everyone.

naz94 reacted to CM&KV in File married or unmarried on 2018 taxes? (spousal visa)
As of December 31st 2018 you were married. You can do it as married and filing jointly or separately. I have done mine last 2 years as separately, even though my spouse has a SSN, but we don't want to include his foreign earned income yet. Keep in mind the interviewing officer will see these and it will raise a red flag why you filed as unmarried when you have proof of being married.    In the end you would have to amend 2018.

You can file married separately. Also they don't care how you file really. IRS are the only ones concerned. My husband filed as single when we were in your position. Why doesn't the IRS care? Because he paid more taxes filing as single and people are allowed to amend taxes for a few years after it's been filed and again the embassy isn't concerned with this as they would be aware of this situation that most persons will find themselves in. My husband can amend his taxes in the future as well.
